Trinity's Master by beetbeet3

Story Notes:

This story is in first person. it is in the POV of an Eevee anthro.

Chapter 8

this is a rough, half-finished version of chapter 8. you can skip this if you like, though if you liked this story then you may want to look at the preview of what I'm writing now. I promise you won't be dissapointed.

Chapter 8
I leaned against the tree for a few moments with my mind on Leah when my ear twitched as it caught a faint voice on the breeze. Snapped from my thoughts, I was confused as to who would be out in the forest. I listened carefully, wanting to verify that my ears weren't playing tricks on me.

I heard it again. This small voice seemed close as it fought to rise above the music of bird and Pokémon. Curious, I began walking in the direction I heard it come from. I realized that it was Melly's voice. As I got closer, I began to pick up her words. It sounded like she was having a one sided conversation with herself.

"You like to play with me right?" She asked. No response.

"Of course I do!" She exclaimed as if she was answering herself. "I wish that Nick was here."

Silence followed for a moment or two before Melly resumed talking. "I know you're shy, but Nick's very nice."

I resisted the urge to call out to the little anthro girl as I began to close in on her. Melly apparently believed that there was someone there with her. By her voice I could tell that she seriously believed it too.

"Yeah, Nick got back yesterday. He brought home this girl, too." Melly said.

Finally, I got close enough to tell that her voice was coming from this giant wooden box that was built in the branches of a tree. By now, I was getting used to humanity showing up in weird places, but a house built in a tree stunned me for a couple of moments.

"Nick told me that she's an Eevee anthro. She has brown fur. I guess she's kind of nice, but Nick has been spending all of his time with her."

I realized that I had been soaking up Nick's attention like a sponge. Melly used to have Nick all to herself before I came along. Shaking the slight guilt that I felt from this, I examined the tree for a way to get up, finding boards nailed to the tree to make a crude ladder. I headed for this ladder.

"I can always play with you though... what's wrong?"

I started climbing up.

"I never told anyone about you. Please don't go." Melly was starting to sound saddened.

I reached the top of the ladder and opened up the trap door at the bottom of the floor. The Beautifly anthro whirled around to look at me. next to her was an open window that was facing away from the direction I came from. The tree house was filled with drawings and dolls and everything that a six year old would find in his or her toychest.

"Hi Melly." I said, leaning a little to look out the window. I looked to the little girl. Distress was obvious on her face.

"Go away." She whispered meekly. She was on the verge of crying. "You're not taking her."

"Not taking who?" I asked confused.

"My friend." Melly cried a single tear running down her cheek.

"Melly, I'm not here to take anyone away." I said with a soothing voice. I took a step toward her and she stepped back.

"y-you're not?" Melly said, not looking like she was satisfied yet.

"Why would I?" I said, giving her a reassuring smile.

"You already stole Nick from me." She said sadly.

Thinking back, I realized that she was right, almost. I had only really been here for a day and a half, but Nick hadn't spent more than a couple of minutes with her. For a little kid that was used to having him around all the time that was like forever. Feeling a little guilty, I quickly thought of the solution. "I didn't steal Nick from you. The truth is, Nick brought me here so that I could play with you."

"Really?" Melly asked, suddenly losing her sadness.

"Of course. But I was born and raised in the wild, so he has to teach me everything about living with you guys. Before I got here, I didn't even know how to talk."

"But I saw you kissing him." Melly pointed out.

"That's because I'm his..." I tried to remember the human word for 'mate.' It took me a moment but I found it. "Girlfriend."

Melly suddenly looked out the window. She suddenly ran to it. "See you later!!" she yelled out.

"Who are you talking to?" I asked, walking over to the window. Nobody was outside.

"My friend." She announced in a matter-of-fact voice, still gazing out the window.

"Who's you're friend?" I asked.

Aaaaaand cliff-hanger. yes that's all I've got done. I'm ashamed to admit that, but I've gone on to better things. those better things would be lazing around and feeding off your anticipation as you wait for something that will not be finished like some kind of non scary vampire.

BUT FEAR NOT!!! because I was actually a little disapointed with this story. it started out as only an experiment and at the time the most popular work I had going was The New Guild. and that was almost pure sex. when I went into this I wasn't even sure I'd have a second chapter, let alone a popular one. I wasn't really writing my best until chapter 3, spurred on by these comments:

Wow! This story shows some definite promise, I can't wait for more.

Really I had never gotten such high praise for a story that I've written, which is why I'm going to re-do it all from the start. when I reread it I always grimace at the part where she's sold and numerous other parts around it as well. I was still an amatuer and hell, when you're an author, you're always an amateur. (Leah was basically an on the spot decision with absolutely nothing leading up to her. apparently at one point I just screamed "F**k it! I don't care if it makes sense, I need a lesbian and I need it now!")

it may or may not happen, but I've set my mind to the level of "If I'm going to do this, I'm going be sure to do it right."

Now that that speech is over, ON TO THE PREVIEWS!!! (CAPS LOCK IS YOUR FRIEND)

I'm still in the process of rewriting chapter 1, but I do have chapter 2 finished and I've just started chapter 3. I wanted to make sure that I'd have material ready for it's debut and I'm probably going to regret even giving you guys this, but I needed help with the name. (trinity's master v.2 is not a very good name.)

The story kicks off with the first two paragraphs (currently) intact. I think that they might have been the only two I actually got right. (the description of Trinity.) then it was hell rewriting it. (I had to butcher the old story cow to make a nice story hamburger out of it.)

Up until the day I was captured, I was a wild anthro, never really having any lasting contact with humans aside from the occasional lost traveler. On the occasion that I would find one of these stray humans, I'd often lead them out of the forest because I liked to help people. That turned out to be a mistake on my part, despite my good intentions. Whether it was purposeful or not, word got out that there was a wild anthro lived in the woods, and that's where the problem started.

One day I found a pack of humans wacking there way through the woods with gleaming sticks that seemed to magically clear the brush away wherever it struck. On that day I really had no idea what was going on. I was terribly hungry, and in other words, it was a normal day. Back then I had to fight for every scrap of food I ate. There was no fridge I could pop open out in the wild.

Hiding in the bushes, I watched them curiously. besides the thin gleaming sticks, many also carried long, wooden/gleaming sticks. Much later I would shudder at the thought of being shot with one. I still don't know how those stupid things work even though my master told me hundreds of that some sort of combustible powder is supposed to propel an object out of the barrel. Anyway, they stopped just by the bush I was in.

Then the capture ensues and with it the training. farther on, chapter 2 in its glory has its first appearance of Nick and Leah:

Finally it was my turn, and Boss started the bidding at $15,000. The man who took the first bid for the Pichu took this one quickly as well, but this time a boy, looking younger than the rest of the audience, shot him down with $20,000.. He stood up so that people could see that there was no mistake in who had bidded. I couldn't tell very many details about him because I was under a spotlight and he was in the dim audience, but I could see that he was accompanied by another figure about the same age that sat next to him. She was obviously female from the look of her long hair.

Whispers went through the crowd and a man shot out of his seat. "Do you really have that kind of money, kid?"

"If I didn't, why the hell would I be here?" He replied gruffly, his voice having an edge to it like a knife that cut down any doubts as to whether he was telling the truth.

"20,500!" another voice called out from the audience, but was soon disappointed as the same boy remained standing.

"21,000." He said calmly, resting his hands on the chair in front of him.

"22,000." Another voice rose from the corners of the room. I watched as, once again, the apparently wealthy boy rose the price again. Each time another man or woman called out another bid, he always met them and rose even higher. The bids bounce all across the room until finally, it was silent, the same boy having the last say.

in addition to changing the style of which Trinity is sold, I've also changed a bit on how Leah appears at first:

The girl was much more interesting than the boy. She wore a tan colored cloak, as I said before, but under that she just wore a sleeveless tank-top and a pair of shorts. The cloak was held together by a metal, eight-pointed star with some odd calligraphy etched into it. The hood of the cloak was pulled down, spilling her long, blood-red hair over her shoulders and making me once more shake the thoughts of violence out of my head. Her face was pale as was the rest of her skin and her chin ended in a sharp point. But the thing about her that attracted most attention was her deeply brilliant blue eyes that seemed to sparkle readily. Something about them was beautifully soothing in me as I stared at them...

Until I realized she had once again turned toward me as her friend had begun his turn at filling out papers. I held eye contact for only a brief moment before I meekly lowered my gaze.

Huh, I thought, that's odd. She's not wearing any shoes.

and finally the first paragraph of chapter 3:

I woke up as usual. Neck feeling constricted by leash: check, tied to tree: check, subsequently in a tangled mess of nylon leash and brown fur at foot of that freakin' tree: check. You could tell that I was a goddamned ray of sunshine. The day was off to a great start.

so there it is. all your sneak peaks. let me remind you that it's not a solid thing yet, even though I've already got some 5000 words invested in it. (some of those are left over from the chapter 1 paragraphs I have yet to edit/rewrite) the story will still be Trinity's Master. It'll just be better.

If you have a suggestion for the title of the story please leave a comment.

okay... I think that's everything...
