Story Notes:
I lied, I didn't think I'd make an entry for this but an idea came to me so I wrote it down.Disclaimer: Don't any pokémon yet...but I could probably take Weedle, don't think anyone would care.
The Calm Before The Storm
It's good to get out sometimes; it's easy to forget after a couple of million years what fun actually is, but zipping through the tree's at high speed really never gets old. Especially when you're doing it with a friend, of course Roserade couldn't actually fly so I was doing all of the heavy lifting (as always) but I didn't mind, the only thing that mattered was that her face was awash with joy at the experience. But it was only going to get better for her; I was about to take her to the most beautiful place in the entire forest...it was strange really, that I was doing much for a single creature. Did that make me selfish? Should I even be allowed to have this much fun when I should be looking out for the entire forest...but for once I didn't care, I wasn't bothered by thoughts of humanity and I wasn't even looking towards the future, right now all of me was dedicated to the present, and the beautiful 'mon I held in my hands.
"Cel! Tree!" she shouted, and I quickly (and naturally, stylishly) dipped between two thick branches, luckily we both came out unscathed, but I had to admit that was pretty close...I should really stop doing this self-narrating thing. "...Please don't ever do that again," Wow, maybe that had been a little too close... but it didn't matter, because we were here. The thick area of emerald trees opened up to a sight that still made the breath catch in my throat, even after all these years, and I could see that it had a similar effect on her as well...but this was only the beginning. In front of us was a meadow covered with glorious flowers of every colour imaginable, combining to form a beautiful expanse of grassland, which rested against the shore of an azure lake, glimmering silently in the afternoon sunlight. Pokémon of all shapes and sizes darted through the flowers or the water in a sense of pure glee, the sheer energy of the surroundings invigorating each and every one of them.
"Beautiful, isn't it," I whispered as I brought her gently down to the ground.
"It is... but why'd you bring me here?" she asked suddenly, momentarily catching me off guard (when you're used to watching all the timelines at once, surprises don't really crop up that much). But it was a pretty good question, why had I brought her out here? Apparently though, that was a rhetorical question, saving me from an awkward silence, "You stopped looking over the whole forest...to be with me?" Oh great, now she was sending me on a guilt trip, it's not my fault that I wanted a break, you know it's pretty damn hard looking out for the whole forest when I'm only one person, no matter how magnificent that person was. And of course, I immediately started apologising...I really don't have much of a backbone, do I?
"I'm-I'm sorry that this is really selfish and everything, I just-" And then she did something that I really didn't expect, she wrapped her arms around me and actually started to strangle me against her, I know that I'd done wrong and everything, but this was a little too far, surely! Then, on top of that, she started to move her head closer to me like she was trying to eat me, everyone has their limit and this was definitely mine, but just as I was about to literally blast her into the next century she pressed her lips against mine...and I immediately ceased my struggling as I understood. She was...kissing me? Well, I sure as hell hadn't seen that coming, but this was one of those surprises that you just roll with and enjoy, which I happily did...and now seemed like the perfect time to take her to that other place I had in mind.
I've got to admit, I really outdid myself that time, whilst making out with her I managed to move us both to the one area of time which I had in mind...way back to the exact moment of time which I had in mind. All the while I'd done it so smoothly that Roserade hadn't even noticed, I guess I was far too great a kisser for her to care about anything else. But once we parted she saw where we were, and I knew that I'd achieved my goal, a look of bizarre amazement spread over her face; protected by the psychic barrier I'd created (while kissing and transporting her through time, I was on one hell of a roll today!) we stared into the endless expanse of space. This was normally the place that I felt most at home, because strangely despite my status as Lord Of Time...I'd always been relatively lonely, I mean sure I had thousands of bug and grass Pokémon at my disposal...but to me that was all they were, followers who I could dispose at a whim. All of the other "legendaries" thought that my attitude was distasteful; I'd heard some of them calling me self-loving (which at first I thought was a compliment...but later found out otherwise) so I decided to avoid them as well. Roserade however, always looked at me as if I was her one and only hero, she was perhaps the only being to ever hold me in as high esteem as I hold myself...she was perfect for me, which I now realised.
But right now we were looking at something which symbolised the change; we were staring into the crimson beauty of a Nebula, the birth of a star. The gaseous giant twirled intricately among itself, the only light in the lonely sky for millions of light years, a truly spectacular sight for all to behold. But naturally, I'd done much more than simply brought her back through time into the deepest part of space, as I watched her wondrous face travel along the outline it started to light up even brighter, and I subtly smiled myself in pride. The outline of the gaseous beauty swirled to form a perfect image of the 'mon standing next to me. What can I say? I'm a romantic.
"...Is that meant to be me?" she asked...a little slow on the uptake I guess, but she still seemed enchanted at the idea. "...Do I really look that fat to you?" My face instantly drooped, after all that hard work she had to say that? Then, of course, she laughed and started to strangle/hug me (couldn't tell the difference, she could either have been laughing crazily and trying to kill me or the opposite), "I'm joking silly...it's beautiful," My face instantly turned from green to red as I realised that I'd been fooled yet again, I'd been around for a little over a million years yet she could still fool me with these simple tricks. But my embarrassment was quenched as our lips connected again, and instantly the nebula exploded outwards, painting our surroundings in burnished gold, but we didn't notice, even compared to the image that had existed only second ago; it didn't manage to capture the thing that made Roserade so attractive...her infinite love for me.
Our lips eventually parted, and we stared into one-another's eyes for what seemed like an eternity, they caught the light of the explosion perfectly and enhanced her beauty even further, we both smiled. I took her hand, and we travelled through time together...and for once I wasn't alone...I'd met someone as perfect as me...Chapter End Notes:Wow, he really is a smug bastard isn't he? Just thought I'd add a mushy chapter in, but it isn't going to be nice for long. Next chapter will be up around Wednesday with any luck, although school will probably interfere
