A History Report on The World by that_noob

Story Notes:

After finishing the latest chapter of The Black Mercury, I had to do this. These ideas wouldn't leave me alone!

The History of Del Aires

"Death is a state of mind... a state of mind... where the Pokemon gives up and is defeated. They just... die. I will never die, because I have not given up. I will never give up. I know that my ideals and personality will continue to live on. So I'm not really dead. If you had nothing to live for, you have nothing to die for. And those who die should still be alive... Fighting for their ideals to be heard, prolonged and forever remembered... Only then will they pass peacefully..."

-The Honorable Sir Aires

----------------------------

Hello readers. My name is Palmer Thornberry. As part of my history report, I'm going to give you a brief run-down of the chronology of my wonderful country, Del Aires.

Some time after the Pokemon War ended in 1810 Mid War, seven groups of Pokemon were stuck in the Johto region. All the humans had been wiped out by extremely advanced technology... which was basically their assault rifles and other weapons of mass destruction utilized by Pokemon. But, each of the seven were stranded due to the humans' navy fleets and boats being blown apart. Here are the seven leaders of the bands:

-Josiah Aires the Typhlosion, colonizer of Del Aires

-Pikku Flat the Ludicolo, colonizer of Pikkunen

-Por-au'tere Raumi the Floatzel, colonizer of Eni-g'ste

-Flan Ports the Steelix, colonizer of Fjau

-Olive Shnorzer the Meowth, colonizer of the K'loven Isles Republic

-Kotaro Hatsu the Crobat, colonizer of Tikula

-Procus Mi Itellius the Illumise, colonizer of Tergedelmys

Today, since I'm a Del Airian, I'll focus on Sir Aires (and yes, it is required to say "Sir" whenever referring to Sir Aires in Del Aires). In 1868 After War or Pokemon Common Era (AW and PCE hereinafter), Groudon and Kyogre caused massive shifts in the land and rain respectively. This, in turn, completely destroyed Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh and created new lands. Del Aires was and still is the largest continent on the planet now.

Anyway, Sir Aires traveled over to the now empty Del Aires and began to colonize it. Del Aires played a central part in the war, actually. It was the largest band of Pokemon, and the only one to take down the humans' outposts scattered here and there. Sir Aires used his tremendous influence to become the prime minister of the continent, and it quickly grew to become the most powerful nation on the planet with a strong military, strong economy and strong religious ideology.

In 1874 AW, Del Aires was known for it's strange beliefs on how the world should be run. It was heavily industrialized to the point where it resembled the old human places. Everyone wore clothes made for Pokemon by choice. Instead of using their abilities to farm, Pokemon here used human tools. They ate with forks and spoons, and even slept in beds! When confronted by the newly established nations of the world, Sir Aires said this:

"...In a world where typical human ideas and technology have been introduced... how is a Pokemon supposed to return to primality? To ignorance? If someone gave you a gun and a baseball bat... and told you to kill the Pokemon in front of you as quickly as possible, which would you choose? Granted, the gun may not even be loaded... but anyone with sense would pick it up and use it anyway."

After reading the full letter, all of the other nations became enraged. They called Sir Aires to a meeting in the Eni-g'ste Assembly Hall (which is today the World Coalition Council or WCC) to discuss what should be done about his country's behavior.

Fjau's Premier Chief questioned Sir Aires about what he would do if he died. If he would give his ideals away to a new generation that would improve his quality of living, or stay in the mindset of the humans? To this, he said:

"First and foremost... my ideals are not only mine. There are about 3.4 billion Pokemon living in Del Aires right now. Modernization is a big step from our prime way of thinking. I mean, seriously, consider it... skipping randomly in wild grass and using 'moves' are what got us enslaved in the first place. The humans' way of thinking were thousands of steps beyond ours... so why can we not follow in their footsteps, and surpass their quality of life as Pokemon should?"

Premier Chief Jacques Ports then responded harshly:

"In that mindset, nothing would get done! We would all be humans and the war... the millions of lives that were given to us would have been for nothing. We should live as Pokemon! Not as the humans do."

And so, he proposed to the other five nations that they have a yearly meeting here, to discuss and control the other nation's actions should they ever get out of hand. Tergedelmys, Fjau, and Pikkunen voted 'yes'. The K'loven Isles Republic voted 'neutral' along with Eni-g'ste. Only Tikula and Del Aires voted 'no'. And thus it was official. Del Aires was then regulated...

...But not for long. In 1902 AW, Del Aires Administrator-in-Chief Josiah Aires had been assassinated during a trip on an airplane to Fjau for business. In a flurry of Blizzards and Thunders, the Pokemon-built plane had been brought down and had blown up on the shore of the primitive island. He died at 259 years of age. When questioned, the Pokemon (each Magnezone and Starmie) stated at their execution that:

"If I, no, if we didn't do it, no one else would have. Planes are human inventions. We can Fly if we want to. We can Surf. The fact that he was trying to impose human technology on Fjau makes us sick. So kill us. But don't succumb to his influence..."

For the Magnezone, it took three Fire Blasts to melt them completely. The Starmie were lucky; it only took one Thunderbolt.

Fjau was quickly summoned to another WCC meeting, in which they deeply apologized for their citizens' ignorance, and promised it would never happen again.

Del Aires elected another Administrator, Stuart Finley the Lotad. Unfortunately, the Missionary War broke out one year after, in 1904 AW. The war's goal was to destroy Del Aires and re-claim it in the honor of Pokemon. So basically, all the human crap had to go.

The war was led by Tikula Lieutenant General Colonel Hudoi Natsubaki and his elite fleet of Normal-, Ground- and Water-type Pokemon. It is also recorded that the war was planned by Fjau. Stuart Finley didn't know what to do! Seeing several fleets of Pokemon coming at the nation at once was overwhelming.

It's rumored that Stuart died of a heart attack, but there are no official documents stating his death. He died at 17 years of age.

Battalion "Bomb Team" Sergeant Adam Lion the Infernape commanded the rest of the battle with a superb military. Tikula's forces never even reached the shores of the gigantic Del Aires, as they were immediately repelled by gunfire and forced back to their land.

In the next WCC meeting that year, Del Aires was back and refreshed with Lion elected as Administrator. In 1931, Del Aires officially announced it's sovereignty from the world and became the world's strongest nation. The war was still going on, and Del Aires crushed it's opponents each time. Later that same year, the K'loven Isles Republic seceded from the control of WCC and became a sovereign nation on it's own as well. It then assisted Del Aires in the war.

Fjau was elected Capitol Nation of the WCC in 1943, at the peak of the war. It used it's governmental dominance to crush the K'loven Isles Republic. With the power of Tergedelmys and Pikkunen infused with Fjau's, the K'loven Isles Republic was forced to recede into the WCC or risk being annihilated. In that same three month period, it changed it's name to the United Fjau Isle Monarchy. This change, however, would not last long.

Soon, Del Aires (being the only sovereign nation remaining) would face hardships. Due to the extreme nature of the World War, the entire nation's economy collapsed and citizens lived in fear. Everyone age 16 and up were drafted into the military to fight. Anyone who did not wish to join needed to be able to fund the war out of pocket. Not many families, however, got this opportunity.

In 1945 PW, the war ended with Fjau as it's initial victor. A fourth of Del Aires had been conquered by the WCC and was immediately converted to their way of living. The United Fjau Isle Monarchy would have enough, however, and send a battle fleet of Flying-types to free Del Aires from it's oppressor. It then again seceded from the WCC's grasp and became the K'loven Isles Republic as it was before.

But for this, it would pay.

The other nations in the WCC also had enough. With Del Aires and the K'loven Isles Republic missing from the meeting table, four of the five nations agreed to stop the war completely and allow Del Aires to, inevitably, regain control of the world. The nation of Fjau was not comfortable with this. Jacques Ports would continue the war by himself.

In a well devised trap, Fjau did end the war and had invited Administrator Lion to the WCC to discuss the issues once more. But it wasn't as innocent as it seemed. Jacques had battle Pokemon fleets stationed outside Eni-g'ste's border, ready to unload the troops, storm Eni-g'ste, and take out Del Aires' Administrator. But, before the plan was enacted, Fjau's Prime Advisor would kill Jacques in his own field two days before the meeting. The rest of the world had grown tired of it's own primality and Jacques was causing the problem.

Arnaude Astrid would be elected as Fjau's new Premier Chief in 1947. At the WCC meeting, Del Aires was given more board-time than any other nation. It was mostly out of respect for it's role in the Pokemon-Human War, and the WCC-Del Aires World War as well. Fjau's Premier Chief would say this about our lovely country:

"In a fight against a bull and a hare... Del Aires is the hare. Fjau is the bull. Del Aires is able to strike quickly and keep striking... Fjau is only able to strike once. By fear and intimidation, Fjau has given itself a bad name. But as Premier Chief of Fjau, I promise each nation that this will never happen again. We know now not to mess with the hare."

The K'loven Isles had even given Del Aires the "Most Influential Nation of the Year" award.

Sir Aires' influence had reached each nation. The WCC acted as a governing body only if the nations allowed it to; each nation still governed itself. In six of the seven nations (the only one being Tikula) the "Advancement of Natural Intelligence" law of 1951 was passed, and each Pokemon was (for the most part) required to wear clothing. It also set up schools, hospitals, airports, and other buildings to help modernize the other nations.

Tikula later seceded from the WCC and became a completely sovereign nation soon after, though. The law was not passed there, and still is not. They live in somewhat modern environments, in homage to their original roots as wild Pokemon.

Later, each nation would be known for something. Here is a list as it appears in 2045 PW, current date:

-Del Aires, the Protector nation.

-Pikkunen, the Lotus nation.

-Eni-g'ste, the Intelligent nation.

-Fjau, the Mountain nation.

-The K'loven Isles Republic, the Giant Bakery.

-Tikula, the Pacific nation.

-Tergedelmys, the Iron Fisted nation.

In 1957 PW, the "Division of Territory" law was passed in each nation including Tikula. Del Aires divided it's territory into states, Pikkunen into hemispheres, Eni-g'ste into sectors, Fjau into provinces, The K'loven Isles Republic into divisions, Tikula into borderlands, and Tergedelmys into states.

And thus, I conclude the history of Del Aires as I know. I thank you all for reading.

The End! Yes, this was inspired by "The Black Mercury" xD. That story was too awesome for me to pass up. That, and in my series "Mortal Immortality" Frank Howard mentions something about Del Aires. I've had this wall of text floating around in my head. So, like The Black Mercury, I'll throw in some Clear-Ups:

-Del Aires is akin to modern-day America. Only rich people live there and they're all snooty douches. And I'm American. I'm not a snooty douche, but the rest of the world sees us that way.

-Fjau is pronounced "Fray-awe". Not "Fa-jaw". It's akin to France.

-K'loven is pronounced "Clove-n".

-Tikula is a bit oriental, hence the Japanese names.

-Pikkunen is pronounced "Peek-way-nen" and not "Peek-oo-nen". It's akin to Hawaii.

-Tergedelmys is pronounced "Ter-geh-del-miss" and not "Ter-gee-del-mice". It is basically the less douche-y Del Aires, where a lot of people live.

-K'loven served as chefs in the Pokemon-Human War, and at times, shock troops.

-Eni-g'ste is pronounced "Ee-nigh-gest" and not "Any-guh-stee". It was previously allied with Fjau, but quickly gained completely sovereignty before all of the nations had fully established themselves.

-Tergedelmys served as heavy weapons handlers in the war. They developed the "Energy pellet" which is a human bullet infused with an element. If they were facing a Water-type, they'd use an EP (not called a bullet) infused with electricity. This technology is used by the militaries and police of each nation.

-Tikula served as scouts in the war. Because they were so numerous, it didn't matter if they got killed or not. They initially had large influence over each of the other nations in the Mid War era, but after the war, their power died out.

-Fjau has large mountains sticking out of it's side (akin to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado or Mt. Pyre) and that's why it's known as the Mountain nation. The Pokemon in the Mountain Province live simplistic lives opposed to the modern-day Fjians.

-Eni-g'ste served as the head intelligence in the war. They developed the flash-freezing system which negated pain in wounded soldiers and allowed them to continue fighting. They also developed the "Heal Capsule" which, when ingested, removes all wounds and illness from the body and restores it to perfect health. They also developed the "Philuin Qriuntys" which is Eni-g'stian for "Dismissal Laser". It is a high powered beam that stops all particles in a Pokemon's body from moving. This, in turn, immediately disintegrates the Pokemon into a cloud of ash.
