2: The Journey There and Back
Sean woke up blinking his eyes several times trying to get adjusted to the light shimmering in through the blinds. His clock said 7:45. "Oh boy," Sean commented, "it is finally time for me to go to get my first starting Pokemon." Sean hopped into the shower, got dressed, and ran outside to meat his friends near Route 1 on the way to Pallet Town. Sure enough they were there.
Now here is a brief description of all of their looks. Sean was about 5'7", he had brown short cut hair along with some gray eyes that were able to pierce into souls. He wasn't athletic but he had a good figure. Arryn was the vision of a girl every guy wants. She had blonde hair, cool blue eyes and also 5'7". Kipp was a little taller than his friends being about 5'9". He had black hair along with green eyes with a little bit of hazel in them.
"Well it's about time you got out here sleepy head," said Arryn jokingly. Kipp chuckled at this remark. "Ready to get our Pokemon," asked Arryn.
"More than ever," Sean replied.
As they were walking through the plains, Sean asked "So what Pokemon were you planning on getting?"
"I planned on getting Charmander," Kipp replied, "because fire types are tough just like me!"
"I planned on getting Bulbasaur," Arryn said," It's soooooo cute and I love the smell of flowers."
Not wanting to offend his friends Sean said, "I guess that leaves me with Squirtle which I planned on getting anyway." As they walked through the remainder of the plains, they talked about their favorite kinds of Pokemon. They finally made it into Pallet Town and made their way to Oak's lab. Professor Oak greeted them inside with a smile. "So you finally got here," he said, "I was worried I'd have to give my three starting Pokemon to someone else. Remember I'll only let each of you pick one. Since chivalry is not dead," Oak paused, "I will let Arryn go first."
Arryn stepped up to the desk with the three Pokeballs. "I want Bulbasaur," said Arryn. Oak handed a pokeball and a Pokedex to Arryn. Arrryn pressed the release button on the ball. A blue little Bulbasaur popped out. "Bulba, saur!" it said. Sean motioned Kipp to go up next.
Kipp said with a confident tone, "I want Charmander!" Oak handed him a different ball with the same Pokedex. Kipp also pressed the release button on the pokeball and out popped a red flaming Charmander. "Char!" it responded.
Sean was the last one so he came up and took the last ball of the three and took the Pokedex from Oak. He released his ball and out popped a little blue Squirtle. "Squirtle, squirt," it said.
Oak said, "Now that you have your first Pokemon, you can start catching others and record info in your Pokedex on all 380 Pokemon species." He each gave them 5 Poke balls for practice. Arryn, Kipp, and Sean walked out of the lab with their Pokemon outside their pokeballs.
Sean said, "I have an idea why don't we record all our Pokemon in our Pokedex?"
"Good idea!" Arryn responded.
They all opened their Pokedex and in an electronic voice the Pokedex downloaded the information.
" Bulbasaur, the seed pokemon, as it matures the bulb on its back continues to bloom and flourish."
"Charmander, the lizard pokemon, the fire on its tail can reach up to 2,000 degrees Farenheit. If caught in rain, steam will rise from its tail as it seeks shelter."
"Squirtle, the shell pokemon, when sensing danger it will retreat into it's shell. It prefers swimming to walking."
"Information download complete." the Pokedex said. All three of them called their Pokemon back into their spherical captivities. As they neared Route 1, they all agreed that they would go their seperate ways and meet back at the entrnace to Viridian at 6:00. (at 6:00 time goes fast doesnt' it?!) they all met at the entrance. Kipp said, "Ok spare no details, what Pokemon did you catch?" "I'll start," he replied, "I caught a Pidgey and a Rattata."
"Same here," Arryn said.
"Also here," Sean replied.
" Well you're doing pretty good for a first timer," a voice said behind them. They saw three figures. One was wearing a hat with a Pokeball on it and had black hair. He also had on a red jacket and blue jeans. Another figure had red hair, it was a female, and it had a yellow top and some blue shorts on. The last one, another male, had brown hair and had some orange and green on.
"Oh my gosh," Kipp said, those are the three great Pokemon trainers, Ash, Misty, and Brock." He paused. "...But they look different..."Kipp said hesitantly. Sure enough they did as they looked up they all had red eyes and sharp teeth.
"What's wrong with them?" Arryn whispered in Sean's ear.
"I don't know" Sean replied.
"Give us your pokemon!" Ash, Misty, and Brock said in a zombie, trance like voice.
"Never!" Kipp replied. "You'll have to kill us first!" With this he popped out his Charmander, Pidgey, and Rattata. Without hesitation, Arryn and Sean did the same. Sean thought to himself, "What the heck am I doing."
"Pikachu, I choose you." Ash said in his trance voice. "Thunderbolt that Squirtle and his team." Pikachu responded with a cheerful "Chu" as she obeyed his trainer.
"Staryu I choose you!" Misty said in her voice. "Staryu douse that Charmander, Pidgey, and Rattata, with your Water Gun attack." "Hyah" responded the Staryu as it knocked the three back.
Brock finally responded with "Vulpix I choose you. Burn that Bulbasaur with your Flamethrower attack." "Vul" the little minx pokemon said as billowing flames came out of its mouth.
The three pokemon of Arryn, Sean, and Kipp had been overtrumped by type weaknesses. "Now give us your Pokemon." Ash said in an almost robot voice.
"No," Arryn, Sean and Kipp shouted as they ran to the Pokemon Center.
"Come back here," Brock started to say. Misty put a hand in front of him and said "Let them go we will get them eventually." With this the three heroes called back their Pokemon and walked off into the dark.
