An Uneasy Alliance
Kipp was looking at the merchandise in the Poke'mart. He was thinking of all the provision he would need when he and his friends went on the route to the Pokemon League to catch some new Pokemon before going to the Viridian Forest. He knew that they couldn't pass without any badges but he was in a bit of trouble. He had a fire Pokemon and he knew that he would be in trouble against Brock since Fire would be terrible against his Rock Pokemon. Kipp thought that he would catch a Mankey on the route to help him. Kipp then remembered that Brock was possessed. He slipped into deep thought as he tried to wonder why Ash, Misty, and Brock would try to steal their Pokemon. He suddenly popped out of thought as the Pokemart clerk asked him if he was going to buy anything. With that he picked up 5 Poke Balls, 5 Potions, and 5 Antidotes. He paid his Poke dollars and went out of the store.
He figured since the note he had left at Arryn's house said he was going to be at the Pokemon center, he had better head on over there just in case if they went looking for him. On the way over to the Pokemon Center, he passed the Viridian Gym. He started toward it remembering as a child he would go with Arryn and Kipp and watch Pokemon battles. Between Giovanni and trainers. After Giovanni joined the Rocket Syndicate, Ash's rival Gary took over. Arryn, Sean and him still went there to see what they would be up against once they started. Gary had a well rounded team and they knew that they would have to train hard to beat him. He headed toward the door to go in and reminisce but as he approached the door it was locked. "It must be too late for the gyms to be open," he thought. That's when he noticed what was on the door. There was a black crude rusted lock on the door bound with chains. In the middle there was a keyhole but it was shaped like a flame. Kipp puzzled about this because he knew that there was never a lock on the door in the first place. Kipp decided to ignore the problem and go to the Pokemon Center like he originally planned.
When he got there, he was greeted by the smiling face of Nurse Joy. He knew that the Pokemon Centers were always open. He asked Nurse Joy how their Pokemon were doing.
Nurse Joy replied, "They're still very badly injured but they should be ready and at'em tomorrow morning." Kipp always liked Nurse Joy because she always had a smile on her face. He also learned a lot about Pokemon from her. He decided to sit down on the bench next to the counter and read a Pokemon magazine as he waited for Arryn and Sean to come...if they did. Nurse Joy went back into another room to check on some more Pokemon. Kipp heard something outside much like a slicing noise like a sword being pulled out of a sheath but he decided it was his imagination because he was worried about his Charmander, Pidgey and Rattata.
Just then all the lights and machines turned off in the Pokemon Center. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" came a scream from the other room. Kipp auto- matically jumped to his feet. He recognized the joice as of Nurse Joy. He knew he had no Pokemon to protect him but he had to do something. Kipp was about halfway to the door where the scream had come from, when a bright light shone from outside the window. Kipp heard a voice say "Horn Attack, now!" A Rhydon came barging through the window and caused Kipp to fall to the ground without being hurt. Kipp watched as the Rhydon passed him and stopped as it looked like it was attacking something. A human-shaped shadow hopped through the window as Kipp got to his feet.
"What the hell do you think you're doing you dumb-ass!?" Kipp shouted at the shadow.
The shadow replied, "Well I think you should be grateful that I saved your life."
"You almost ran me over with your damn Rhydon." Kipp shouted back. The shadow then came into view. It was Gary. "What the hell...?" Kipp replied.
Gary replied, "No time, Joy is in trouble!" Here take these three Pokeballs. Gary tossed the balls to Kipp and said, "Follow me. I can't do this alone. Rhydon return. The red light transferred the rhino Pokemon into the ball.
Gary ran outside with Kipp following close behind. They went outside and saw a huge Onix binding Nurse Joy. They also saw a Bulbasaur hording all the Pokeballs from the Pokemon Center and stuffing them all into his bulb on the back. The Onix and the Bulbasaur noticed the two young boys and stopped what they were doing to get them out of the way. Kipp gasped as he saw them coming toward them. They had the same red eyes and sharp teeth that Ash, Misty, and Brock had. Gary then threw a Pokeball. "Dugtrio, go!" He threw the ball and out popped a Dugtrio. Gary said to Kipp, "I'll handle the Onix you handle the Bulbasaur! Dugtrio use your Magnitude attack!" Dugtrio dug under ground and started shaking the ground beneath Onix causing it to lose it's balance and it slammed on the ground. But it wasn't done yet. "Grooooooo..."the rock snake Pokemon yelled as it charged toward Dugtrio. "Watch out, Dugtrio! Dig attack now!" Dugtrio dug underground once more as the Onix completely missed it.
Meanwhile Kipp was ready for the Bulbasaur. However he didn't know which Pokeball to throw. He whispered under his breath, "Hope this works. Pokeball go!" The light popped out of the ball and he saw an Alakazam. "All right!" Kipp said as he pulled his fist up. "Poison is weak against Psychic." Kipp, even thought he wasn't the trainer of this Pokemon, said "Alakazam, Psybeam attack now!" Alakazam hearing his trainer battling nearby decided not to hesitate towards this new voice that wasn't his trainers. Alakazam picked up his spoons in his hands, bended them with his mind, and shot a multi-colored beam from his forehead. The beam struck Bulbasaur head-on and caused the Bulb pokemon to faint. All the Pokeballs spilled out of his bulb. Nurse Joy who had been released from the Onix, when Gary chose to fight it, ran over to the Bulbasaur and rushed it into the Pokemon Center. "Alakazam, return!" Kipp said. The Psi Pokemon was trapped in the red light and put back in its ball. Gary had finally managed to defeat the Onix with his Dugtrio and managed to put it in a Pokeball. Both of them went into the Pokemon Center to give the Onix in the Pokeball to Joy. Joy said to them, "Can you go check the circuit box outside and see if you can get the center up and running. Gary said, "Sure. You," he said pointing toward Kipp," Wait here. I need to tell you something."
Gary went outside and noticed that the wires between the center and the box had been cut. He threw a Pokeball down and out popped a Magcargo. "Magcargo," he asked, "Do you think you can fuse these wires together with your Ember attack?"
"Mag!" the pokemon replied as it nodded his head. He sent some embers from his shell onto the part where the wires had been broken. The wires were fused together and the lights in the Pokecenter came back on.
"Magcargo, return." Magcargo was put back in his ball as Gary ran back inside.
"Oh thank you Gary." Nurse Joy replied.
"Here catch!" Gary said as he threw three Pokeballs toward Joy. "These were the Pokemon that attacked the center. Put them away in a contained area that is sturdy so they can't escape." Nuse Joy walked off into a security room.
Kipp questioned, "I thought there were only the Onix and the Bulbasaur. Why are there three?"
Gary replied, "When that Rhydon came in," he paused, "there was a Starmie behind you ready to use BubbleBeam on you. I had to break it's core with Rhydon's horn to protect you."
"What the hell's going on!" Kipp cried in anger.
Gary replied, "Get your friends and I'll explain everything."
What the hell is going on!!!??? Well duh I know! I'm writing the story for cyring out loud. And what will Kipp think when he sees Arryn and Sean...well you know. Find out in the next chapter.
