Some time later...

"Hey, you there! How 'bout a fight?"

I looked up. A boy, probably at the age of fifteen, approached our group, giving me a slight glance, then staring at Ryu.

"You wanna battle with me?", my trainer asked with a grin.

"Yes. I'd like to test the strength of my Ampharos. So, will you battle me with your Lucario?"

Ryu shrugged. "Sure, why not." He looked at me. "What about you, Kira? Are you ready for some training?"

I nodded. Barely two minutes later, I faced my opponent: an Ampharos which was obviously eager to battle.
Brock looked at Ryu and the other trainer.

"Are you two ready?", he asked.

"Ready!", they answered in unison.

"Let the battle begin!"

"All right, Ampharos! Let's go for it! Thunderbolt!"

Ampharos' body started to glow, and he shot a beam of electricity at me.

"Dodge it, Kira!"

I jumped up in the air, dodging the Thunderbolt.

"Now use Aura Sphere!"

Concentrating my aura, I formed a ball of pure energy in my hands and threw it at Ampharos. It was a direct hit, causing the Pokémon to stumble a few steps back.

"Quick now! Close Combat!", Ryu commanded. I lunged out, spinning around and trying to hit Ampharos with a mighty kick.

"Protect!"

My kick was stopped by a shimmering green shield. The pure power of my attack threw me back a couple of meters. I was able to jump on my feet, facing Ampharos again who was by now grinning widely.

"Not bad!", Ryu said. "But I bet I can handle that. Kira, Brick Break!"

I charged again, my right hand glowing in a white light. My attack destroyed Ampharos' shield and hit him right in the chest. The Pokémon landed on his back, but managed to stand up again, panting heavily.
Suddenly I felt a surge of pain all over my body. I cringed and groaned, spins of electricity wandering over my body.

"Now you're in trouble, my friend!", the boy said with a grin. "Ampharos, Thunder Punch!"

My opponent charged at me, his fist glowing with yellow and white flashes. I tried to dodge the attack, but the paralysis lamed my muscles, and the Thunder Punch hit me. I stumbled back, but managed to stand on my feet.

"Don't give up, Kira! Metal Claw!"

The thorns on my hands transformed to glowing claws, and i shot forward. The attack threw Ampharos back. He stood up again, but struggled to stay on his feet.

"Let's end this now, Kira! Aura Sphere!", Ryu yelled. My attack was a direct hit, and Ampharos didn't stand up again.

"Ampharos is unable to battle! Kira wins! The winner of this match is Ryu!", Brock said.

"Great job, Kira!" My trainer smiled and put a hand on my shoulder. I blushed and turned my head away, hoping he didn't notice.

"Are you okay?", Ryu asked concerned. I quickly nodded, still blushing heavily.

"Your Lucario sure is well trained!", the boy said, approaching us.

"Thanks", Ryu answered, smiling broadly. �You know, that's the result of a long..."

~Why not?~ Pikachu shrugged. ~It's uncommon, yeah, but it's not forbidden. One of Ash's pokémon fell in love with him...even a Legendary did.~

By now I was completely confused.

~R-really? A Legendary pokémon had feelings for a human?~

Pikachu nodded. ~Yep. You see, it's okay if you love Ryu. But I guess you should tell him about your feelings.~
