As some of you may have noticed, the IRC server has recently undergone an upgrade. This upgrade has involved moving the service onto it's own VPS (essentially: It's now it's own independent server, and no longer on the same server as the main website). The advantages of this include improved stability, fewer netsplits, and potentially improved performance as a whole for both the main website and the IRC service.
As part of this upgrade, it will now be necessary to connect to the IRC service via irc.agn.ph exclusively . Setting your IRC client to only connect to agn.ph will no longer work. The website documentation has been updated to reflect this.
It is important to note that it is almost exclusively thanks to Alynna for making this all possible! Be sure to give her your many thanks when you're connected to the IRC server!
If you're experiencing difficulties getting your IRC client to connect to the new server through irc.agn.ph , reboot your computer or other device, and try again. If the IRC client continues to have problems connecting, be sure to contact a staff member for assistance.
