The Draft
"I'm here, I'm finally here". (Ok I bet you're wondering what and where is here am I right? We're at the World Pokéfootball ,or Pokéball, Stadium in the Indigo Plateau. This is where all the teams from the 8 cities or towns that contain gyms from the 4 major regions come to pick out the rookies they will need during the season and I'm one of them. My name is Mike Savior I'm 21, 6'4", 265 pounds, and one of the tight ends in this draft). Right now they just gave the first speech and the team CEO of the first team, an anthro Pidgeot for the Violet City Aerials, (1-15) came out to give their pick.
"The Violet City Aerials choose..."
That all I heard as I started to go back deep into my thoughts ("What team will I play for? Will I be a starter? Am I going to stay on the team? Will...")
My thoughts were interrupted by cheering, clapping, and booing as the first pick was shown. I didn't pay attention to the name all I saw was a Nidoking getting a dark blue and white jersey. I decided to clap as the drill Pokémon received his jersey a smile on his face. The next CEO, an anthro Vileplume, came up representing the Celadon City Forest (1-15). Of course I didn't pay attention to the name; all I saw was a female Blaziken get picked while still hearing the whole uproar.
(Might as well explain that also; pokémon both male AND female pokémon are allowed to play the sport also. Only female humans can't play not as a sexist term but for safety. Think about it if you have the ball and you see a Rhydon, Charizard, and Blastoise all coming at you at once would you want to play or have the DAMN ball in the first place? Didn't think so.)
Anyway the booing and clapping continued for a good 50 minutes before my cellphone started ringing (or vibrating since I can't hear the tone over the fans) and a calm, feminine voice picked up. "Hello Mr. Savior how have you been?"
"Well other than the fans going crazy every 10 minutes pretty well" I replied.
"Well then expect the fans to have uproar soon and welcome to the team".
My eyes shot open and my heart raced as soon as I heard that "you're... you're kidding right" All I heard was a giggle then the phone disconnecting and I focused straight ahead to the podium a Gardevoir was walking onto the stage and she spoke just like the person on the phone.
My heart raced as I heard the words that she said. "The Goldenrod City Amazons (6-10) pick Mike Savior Goldenrod U". At first I was expecting cheering, roaring, booing, clapping and all like everyone else but instead I heard uproars all around and expressions of complete shock. Out of curiosity I asked my agent "what with everybody?" He only replied "That team is an all-female team."
"So?" I said not getting the point. He only sighed then said "that team has been an all-female team for the last 50 years how did you not know that?"
I only shrugged my shoulders and walked up to receive a light red and white jersey and then I sat back down. My brother was the first to congratulate me followed by my mother but I didn't pay attention to either as my thoughts ran through my head. ("Why would an all-female team then why choose me?' 'Why would my agent freak out about me joining them?' 'Why would they wait 50 years before drafting a male and even that a human male?" *sigh* "Oh we...")
"HEY MIKE FOCUS!!!" I jumped out of my chair after hearing my agent's voice screaming again. "ARCEUSDAMMIT you don't have to yell you know?!" I said agitated. "Sorry but it's time to go, you have a major ahead of you tomorrow.' 'You get you're contract offering tomorrow ok" he said with a smile. *Sigh* "Fine but I got a bad feeling about it." I said nervously. "Relax what could possibly go wrong?"
I started to reply until I heard everyone clapping stating that the draft is over. I left with my family and agent to the hotel that they had for the players that went to the draft. I had fans of the Amazons asked for my autograph before I got into my room and got some rest.
Meanwhile in another room a Lucario and a Gardevoir were talking. "Are you sure he the right one mistress?" said the confused physic pokémon. "First of all I'm positive his aura is different from the others.' 'Second don't call me mistress I'm not like that" said the Lucario. "Awww but you know I love calling you that" she said while snuggling close to the jackal-like pokémon.
"Yeah you do love that don't you?" the Lucario said while in a light embrace with her "companion." The Gardevoir only giggled then said "we might want to get some rest because tomorrow we're going to see if Mr. Savior can handle this league... and our team" an evil smirk went across the Lucario's face as Gardevoir finished her statement. "Yeah let's see if he is up for it." The two pokémon both giggled then kissed each other goodnight as they got ready for the big day tomorrow.
Of course I couldn't sleep out of excitement for the future I was going to have so I decided to do some research on my team and my agent was not kidding. (The team (and I mean the WHOLE team) was all-female the coaches, trainers, medics, even the CEOs were all girls).
"Holy crap he wasn't kidding I don't see not ONE guy in this team" (except me). I said out of pure astonishment. (Why the hell would they need... wait a minute CEOS???)
I check again to see that there were two CEOs instead of one. "That's odd why would a team need two CEOs instead of one???" I said to no one while confused as I saw the Gardevoir from before and a Lucario. After researching my future team I started to yawn and feel sleepy.
"Oh well I'll just ask them when I go to sign my contract and I hope everything goes right." I then fell asleep getting ready for the next day.Chapter End Notes:Once again reviews would be need to help me out with this story and I'll try to update it as much as possible
