Happy's eyes snapped open as Leafeon climbed on top of her, his rigid length poking against her rear legs and startling her out of her morning nap. Squealing, the Umbreon squirmed her way out from under the horny pokemon and dashed a short distance away, turning a morose look towards him.

"I don't wanna!" she cried, retreating a few more steps.

"Just relax baby." Leafeon grinned, matching her retreat. "Now let's make some Eevees!" Happy ran out of the living room and through the hall towards Wolf's room, Leafeon hot on her heels. She ran on, heedless of whether or not she tripped up others on her headlong rush to the sanctuary of her trainer's room. The doorway came into view soon enough, the Umbreon shooting through it and launching herself onto the bed where Wolf and Lucky were lying in a loose embrace, just enjoying each other's company. Happy landed heavily between them, squirming under Wolf's shoulders before either trainer or Lucario could react and staring unhappily at the door. Leafeon burst through soon enough, leaping up onto the bed in an effort to catch his quarry.

"Happy, Leafeon, what's going on?" Wolf asked testily, not appreciating the interruption. Lucky watched the spectacle with a similar look of annoyance on her face as Leafeon tried to follow Happy, the two pokemon circling Wolf in a stalemate.

"He won't leave me alone!" Happy wailed, dodging around Lucky to use her as a shield.

"Come on baby, what's not to love?" Leafeon asked, still trying to catch her. Every time he tried to circle around Lucky, Happy would dodge around the opposite way. Listening to the words, Wolf glanced at Leafeon only to see his suspicions confirmed.

"Leafeon, It's pretty obvious she doesn't want to." He started, waiting until the grass pokemon focussed on him before continuing. "Leave her alone."

"This has nothing to do with you kid." Leafeon snapped, matching Wolf's glare. "Now butt out!"

"Happy's my pokemon." Wolf countered, trying not to simply drag the pokemon out by his tail. "Now get out of here and leave her alone before I have to drag Mum into this." Leafeon took a step backwards, wondering if Wolf would actually do it.

"Like hell you will." He said, calling Wolf's bluff. The trainer stared at him for a couple of seconds before looking at the door."

"Mum!" he yelled. "Leafeon's being a horny bastard and he won't leave Happy alone!" The grass pokemon's jaw dropped, unable to believe Wolf had actually followed through with the threat. Leafeon turned to flee, but only got as far as the door before he was stopped by Rose standing in the frame, wearing a disapproving scowl on her face. His ears fell, the pokemon staring at the ground like a scolded child.

"I will not have Eevees running around here just because you can't control yourself!" Rose said irritably, motioning for the Leafeon to leave the room. "Now cut it out or I will have to get you neutered." Leafeon stared at her in shock, though he had known her since the first year of her own contest journey and didn't doubt her willingness to follow through. He left the room quietly, leaving them in peace. Rose watched him go, walking over to Happy when he was out of sight and putting a comforting hand on her head.

"Thank you." Happy murmured, giving her hand a few appreciative licks to show her gratitude. Rose smiled at the Umbreon, stroking her black fur.

"If he bothers you again, you just come find me okay?" she said, getting up and leaving the room. Wolf watched her go before turning to Happy, a slightly mischievous grin on his own face.

"Better yet," he began quietly. "Just use confuse ray on him. I'll take responsibility for it." Happy nuzzled him, licking his face. "Guess it's time for breakfast then!" Getting up and heading for the door, he turned to see that Happy hadn't followed him and Lucky, instead curling up between his pillows and closing her eyes for some more sleep. Putting one arm around Lucky, he silently wished her a peaceful nap as they left to eat.

"I don't know who's coming with us to Unova yet." Wolf replied, pausing just before his doorway to stretch while Lucky patiently stood next to him. "I figure Zapdos is coming because he still seems anxious to prove himself, and it wouldn't be fair of me to promise Mewtwo a new home and then go running off to another region and leaving her here. I'll probably just ask the others all at the same time and sort it out then." The Lucario nodded thoughtfully, agreeing with his points. It wouldn't be the same team they had forged ever since the beginning, but that didn't mean that it wouldn't work.

"Do you hear that?" she asked him, tilting her head and listening. Wolf kept silent until the noise reached him too, some kind of muffled, wet sound he couldn't identify. Frowning, he walked into his room to confront the mystery.

"Happy!" he yelped. "What did you do to my pillow?!"

Lying on his bed, surrounded by the shredded remains of his pillow, Happy blinked at him innocently in spite of her obvious guilt. Stuffing littered the room, telling the trainer that the Umbreon had viciously shaken the pillow during the act. Part of the pillow had been in her mouth as the pair had entered, though now she dropped it along with her head to cover her face with her paws. As Wolf approached, she began to whimper.

"I'm sorry!" she wailed, not looking at him. "It looked so chewy!" Staring down at her, Wolf merely sighed. He just couldn't bring himself to be angry at her, even though he was sure his mum wouldn't be happy about it. He sat on the bed, putting one hand on her back to pet her. She flinched at the contact, settling down as she realised that he didn't mean to harm her.

"Are you still upset about Leafeon?" he asked softly, stroking her black fur.

"I guess." She muttered, still not looking at him. He smiled at her, his hand still running along her back.

"It's okay." He said. "I can get a new pillow. I care more about you than a pillow, Happy." She finally looked up at him, her guilty feelings beginning to ebb. Her tail twitched, the start of a wag. "How about coming with me to replace it?"

What had started as a simple trip to the mart had slowly but surely turned into an enjoyable day for just Wolf and Happy, the trainer and the Umbreon wandering around Fortree City simply enjoying each other's company. Time seemed to pass almost effortlessly, the pair having set out just before lunch and now it was fast approaching dinner. The sun had already set, Fortree City now lit by street lamps and the various buildings scattered along the side of the road. Neither of them spoke, content to wander lazily back home.

"Nice as this has been, I think we'd better get a move on." Wolf said, glancing at his watch. "Dinner won't be too long." Happy pouted, unwilling to have the day end just yet.

"We can be late for dinner though, right?" she replied, running in front of him and bouncing around. "I don't wanna go home now!" Wolf checked his watch again, doing some quick thinking about the time.

"I 'spose we have a little time." He said, adjusting the pillow under his arm to reassert his grip on it. Before he could say anything else Happy raced off, the trainer trying desperately to catch her. "Happy!" he called out, bringing the pillow around to hold it in both arms as he ran. "Where are you going?" She didn't respond, running just out of his reach and leading him on. With something between a sigh and a pant, Wolf kept running after her.

When she finally allowed him to catch her, they had reached the forest clearing that Wolf had spent so much time in during his years of not being able to become a pokemon trainer, the place where he had met both Lucky and Happy. Breathing heavily, he sat down in the spot he was so familiar with, Happy already patiently sitting next to it. He looked at her, seeing that she displayed no signs of fatigue from the run.

"This place is special, isn't it?" she asked gently, looking out over the clearing. Wolf followed her gaze, this having been his first time coming here at night. In the trees Volbeat and Illumise flitted among one another, the lights on their tails glowing as they performed their mating rituals. Overhead the moon and the stars shone just as brightly, and when Wolf turned his attention back to Happy he was surprised to see the yellow bands of fur on the Umbreon glowing a soft blue as well, much like she had on Sunburst Island when recovering from the explosion. She noticed him staring, giving him a smile.

"Happy..." he began, moving to rest a hand on her back and draw her closer. "Thanks for bringing me out here. You were right, this place is beyond words..." he trailed off as she nuzzled him, glad that she was enjoying this as much as he was.

"You're welcome." She replied, turning back to enjoy the scenery. "Hey Wolf, there's one thing that's been bothering me for a while... how come you've never asked me for sex?" Wolf started at her blunt approach to the subject, almost letting go of her.

"Well, I didn't know if you wan-" he began, stopping when Happy shook her head.

"What's that got to do with it?" she asked. "Wolf, you never ask for things you want. You just let things come to you." He stared at her, his mouth slightly open. "It doesn't always work like that though." Wolf didn't move, though his expression became one of incredulity.

"So, do you want to have sex with me?" he asked, his tone between cautious and disbelieving. Happy grinned at him.

"Do you want to have sex with me?" she parroted back, leering at him. She squirmed out of his hold, moving a few steps forward and bending her front legs, her tail in the air as she presented herself to him. Wolf hadn't needed to answer too many questions about where he and Happy had been all day, though he suspected that it had more to do with the fact that he had forgotten his invitation to both Flannery and Jane for dinner with his family that night, and that Lucky had never been told about the ex-hunter's change of heart. He had come home to something of a standoff, with Serenity and Wigglytuff standing between Jane and the others, trying to explain the situation to a slightly suspicious family and a sulking Lucario. It took a couple of minutes for Wolf to talk Lucky out of her unforgiving stance, the others deciding to trust him. "Besides, even if she's faking it it's not like we can't beat her again." He said, this final piece of logic quelling their hostile attitude towards Jane.

"So Wolf, it's almost time to head for Unova?" Jane asked later as the group ate dinner, the trainer looking over at her with a string of spaghetti trailing from his mouth onto the plate. Lucky giggled as he sucked it up, having at least started to become more social towards the ex-hunter. Swallowing, Wolf took a quick sip of his drink before answering her question.

"Yeah, end of this week the Royal Unova departs from Lilycove." He replied, reaching for the parmesan cheese shaker. "Which reminds me, who's coming with me and Lucky to Unova?" he asked over his shoulder, glancing at all of his pokemon eating.

"I'm there." Zapdos spoke up, a slightly mocking look on his face. "I just joined the team, so you're not getting rid of me that easily."

"Me too!" Mewtwo said. "You said you were going to train me!" Wolf grinned at her, before letting his gaze travel over the others. To his surprise, no one else was volunteering to go. Ivysaur noticed him staring, before giving him a wry smile.

"It's not that we don't want to spend time with you Wolf," he began, moving closer to the trainer. "It's just that we've found that you meeting more pokemon adds to our friends too. Besides," he added thoughtfully. "Princess wants to keep working with Nurse Joy, and we can keep up our training here as well so that she gets more practice." Wolf nodded, accepting his explanation. He noted that some of the pokemon looked kind of guilty, grinning.

"Don't worry about it guys." He said. "You've all worked incredibly hard anyway, so you deserve a break." The words had their intended effect, and soon they all went back to their dinner in reasonably high spirits. The only exceptions were Caelas, Eve, Serenity and Sephiria, all of which approached him.

"I guess we should tell you..." Caelas started, slipping one paw around Eve's waist. "We've been talking it over, and Eve and I have decided that we'd like to live in Eyllisithek. I mean, if that's-"

"'course it is." Wolf said, looking at Lucky and seeing the same prideful look he was giving Caelas on her face as well. "You two deserve to be able to make your own decisions, and I wouldn't want the time you and your mother spent away to be a waste!" The Lucario smiled, gripping both of his parents in a grateful hug, Eve watching the moment happily.

"They're not the only ones who aren't going to be here." Wolf turned to Serenity as Caelas and Eve returned to their dinner, the Gardevoir cradling her daughter in her arms. "I want to show Sephiria other places, take her on a journey so that she can grow up with a broad knowledge of the world." Wolf looked at them, and while he was sure that he would miss both of them deeply he didn't feel the same sadness he had when Lucky had stayed in Sinnoh with Caelas. In fact, he felt happy.

"Promise me you'll both stay safe." He said, getting out of his chair to wrap them both up in a loving hug. When they broke apart Sephiria looked up at him, her green eyes shining under her teal hair.

"Don't worry dad, I'll make sure mum doesn't get into too much trouble." She said, the glint becoming mischievous. He laughed, stroking her hair comfortingly. As he returned to his seat, he noticed that Flannery was standing in his way, holding a package out to him. Frowning, he took it and unwrapped the paper to find a new set of jeans, a white t-shirt and a new pair of white shoes inside.

"You can't keep wearing those old, worn clothes forever Wolf." She explained, answering his unspoken question. "I figure this will go with that Lucario jacket you got in Sinnoh, and I heard that Unova's temperature is cooler than Hoenn's." He stared at her, almost hurt at the suggestion that he change his clothes before he accepted that she had his best interests at heart.

"I guess that's that." He said. "Unova, bring it on!"Chapter End Notes:Yes, I did end Vacation like this. It was only meant to be a place where I could write a few things that didn't really fit into the timeline otherwise, and since I can't think of anything else I want to add to it I'm just going to head straight into Unova with Wolf's Hunt.

While I haven't exactly written it yet, I have a fairly decent idea of some of the events that will take place, though I will need to come up with some ideas to flesh out the story between these. Feel free to pitch me an idea if you think of one that seems particularly good (keeping in mind that the MxM with Blaziken was a one time occurrence).
