The Beginning of the End.
The day before it all started, everything seemed normal, perfectly fine. People were going about their business, trainers were participating in Pokémon battles, and wild Pokémon still roamed about like they normally would do. The next day however, most of the Pokémon had vanished, gone without a trace. Trainers were upset, worried about them while some cursed them. The select few who were still with their trainers seemed worried, and were especially close to their trainer, like they were afraid.
Nick, who was currently working on his pizza delivery, could also feel something very, very wrong. "Gah I can't shake this damned feeling..." he gulped as he rode his bike along the side of the road, there were people, but there was a lack of Pokémon, Pokémon that were usually hanging about. One of his stops was by the Cinnabar Island Gym, one of his rather...more interesting stops with how Blaine went about. He walked into the Gym, holding a large pizza topped with Chili peppers.....which sounded plain awful to Nick, but he wasn't the consumer, just the deliverer.
He went into Blaine's office, which was actually more of a laboratory that started out as an office. "Yo Blaine you here?" Nick called out, to which a somewhat old voice responded "This way my boy!" Nick followed the voice and found Blaine looking at his Pokémon, his main team was there, any other Pokémon that were in the facility seemed to be gone, just like all over Cinnabar. "Where's the rest of" Nick began to ask before Blaine raised a palm, telling him to be quiet "Nick, something's up.... you've seen it around town, Pokémon are gone, without a trace.
Pokémon trainers looking to catch Pokémon found none, no matter how hard they've looked." Blaine sighed, adjusting his circular sunglasses that matched his round head "Stay on your guard Nick, I've got a bad feeling of what lies ahead" he said.
Nick gulped, he had the same feeling as well, but for some reason, he just felt it more....solid like. Nick nodded but looked at Blaine's Pokémon "But they've stayed" Nick stated, looking them over.
Blaine nodded "And I'm grateful, but these are my dearest friends, Pokémon who have been with me all my life, and they're worried Nick, very worried" He said, his face now sporting a grim look "If they're worried, then something horrible is going to happen." He looked over his lab, it was some of the best equipment money could buy "I'm a scientist, I do not like not knowing key facts, key facts that can alter any experiment or study dramatically, and I do not know what they're so worried about..."
Nick gave him the pizza, got paid and soon left, with a lot weighing on his mind, never before had he seen Blaine so concerned, and he had been delivering pizzas to him for a few years, some of the 'deliveries' would take him more than two hours whenever Blaine gained the desire to explain his new project to him or something similar. He got on his bike, kicked the stand and took off down the road.
His final delivery was to a very isolated part of Cinnabar, the old hermit far down the beach. How he had ordered a pizza he would never know, but it was on his list and his boss wrote it up himself so he couldn't question it. After the 15 minute ride through the sand of the beach he finally came to the small, seemingly crumbling shack. He got off, made sure his bike wouldn't fall into the soft sand and walked up with the pizza in hand. There, a old man, crouched over while sitting on a small piece of driftwood.
"Uh you ordered the-"
"Carrier of Light and Darkness" The man interrupted in a wheezing voice. Nick raised an eye brow, what the hell did that mean?
"Child of good and evil, whose life has been filled with tragedy, you will be tested in days to come"
Nick's eyes narrowed, anger slowly building with the mention of his past "What the fuck are you talking about?" he gritted his teeth.
"Mankind's end is coming, first it will start with a rising sea, then tempest infernos, then raging storms, any who survive will be hunted, killed and enslaved by the very kind we have used" The old man said, looking up at Nick with eyes that had a white glaze over them, he was blind. "You will be the carrier of justice and anger, only time will tell if you can carry such a burden"
"Wha-"a sudden gust of wind blew out of nowhere, kicking up a split second sandstorm. Nick covered his eyes with his arm, catching some sand in his throat before he was able to close it. He was forced into a coughing fit, soon recovering. When he looked, the old hermit was gone, without a trace. He also found the pizza was gone from his hand, he gritted his teeth, thinking the wind somehow blew it out of his hand. Nick grumbled and looked at his slip of orders , he blinked, rubbed his eyes and looked again, the order for the old hermit was gone, as if had never been there.
"Ok....ok ok ok what the fuck just happened?" he asked, very weirded out from what just happened. After some self convincing, he left, pedaling back the way he came. He looked and noticed the tide just went out 20 feet within a few seconds. He stopped his bike, gulping at the site "How the.....what just happened!?" he yelled out to no one. He then heard a small sound, like a distant rushing water. He squinted, looking out as far as he could.
The sound only grew louder and louder until he saw what it was. His eyes widened "Oh SHIT!"he immediately started running inland as fast as he could, the sound growing louder and louder, until a shadow covered where he was. He looked up to see a giant wall of water, he would have cried out in pain, but he blacked out from the force of the impact.Chapter End Notes:Well here it is, something that has been in my head for a while, slowly nagging at me to do
