Splash Into The Shadows

Alex grins as he watches his screen. The X-Box 360 controller gripped tightly in hands. "Where are they?" He asked over the headset. Suddenly rapid fire gun shots ring out what seems like all around. He panics a bit and runs to behind a large truck. He pushes a few buttons and makes his character toss a grenade behind him which explodes just a few second later. He peaks from behind the truck and returns fire back the way he came watching he gains two kills to his already high kill count. He chuckles a bit as he stops to reload his gun.
He moves away from the truck and then runs down the path. He ducks in an abandoned building where the radio comes on announcing and air strike. He grins a bit and then stays in the building. He moves up the second floor and points his semi-auto rifle out the windows, looking the the scope to see if there are any enemies approaching the building. It is clear. He watches as then air strike passes over and several explosion are heard just seconds later. He grins and then leaves the building.
He runs down the path until he character is shot. Alex grunts and then waits for the re-spawn. He continues the game moving the spawn point down the river. He stops at the river and then looks around a bit before throwing a grenade across the river. Nothing. Suddenly the team leader yells "Take cover" over the head set. Before he can move, the screen is cluttered with explosions and on right in front of him which kills his character. Alex grunts and then waits but the game over appears on the screen.
"Oh that is bull crap!" He slams the controller down and then shut the X-Box off. He stomps into the kitchen and then opens the fridge and then grabs a bottle of beer. He pops the top off and then drinks a bit of the golden colored drink. He sits down at the table pulling over a magazine. He flips through the magazine seeing that it's old and then closes it back.
He leaves the kitchen and goes into the front room where then TV is still on. He grabs the remote control and starts to flip the channels in hopes of finding something that is worth watching. He keeps sipping on the beer as he stops at channels showing a guy being chased by a ghost. He chuckles a bit as he watches the guy run and falls down a trap door that was in the floor. He turns the channel again and stops a romance movie where a girl with no hair is kissing a guy. He shakes his head and then turns the channel.
He stops again at channel that is playing a cartoon movie about animals in a zoo. He grins a bit and then sits down and tries to watch it. He chuckles a bit at a joke made as he drinks the the rest of the beer down. He places the bottle on the floor and then sits down on the couch to finish the movie. A little buzzed he giggles at almost everything even if it was not meant to be funny. He sighs a bit feeling better than he did a few minutes ago. He keeps watching the movie a song and dance comes and makes him burst out laughing.
After 2 minutes of straight laughing, his eyes are watery from all the crying. He holds his gut a bit feeling like he got a cramp. He pants and then calms down a bit as the movie progresses. He watches the main character, a lion, tackles the female figure of the movie, a lioness about how much he likes her that every time he dances and sings, it's for her. Alex "awwws", acting like a one man audience. He even claps when then to characters hug each other. He lays down o the couch, getting comfortable.
He watches the movie still but his eyes become heavy. He yawns and then starts to drift off to the sleep, but the loud musical parts of the long move keep him awake. He exhales sharply as his eyes slowly close. The sounds of the movie fading away as he drifts off to sleep. One last exhale and Alex is fast asleep. He snores loudly as the movie ends and then channel goes off air. The small house goes quiet accept for the sounds of the refrigerator cutting on and off like it normally would. The TV's auto-timer cuts off the power to the medium sized appliance.

The glass bottles rolls along the wooden floor where there is no rug until they hit the wall or each other, some shattering on impact.

Alex reappears and lands on his couch. He looks over his slime cover and then looks around the room. He smiles a bit. "I"M ALIVE!" He throws up the hang loose sign and cheers.
