The sun had set for the day was finally over, but the night was young. The canals were a bit more empty than usual and the water's surface reflected the moon and stars for the clouds had retreated. A warm and subtle breeze was a brushstroke that couldn't even so much as make a ripple on the water. At least until a certain gondola cut through the perfect painting.

Ash pulled the paddle toward him, pushing the group through the river. Latias and Bianca sat with Pikachu, petting and cooing at his adorable visage. Pikachu enjoyed himself immensely while Ash worked on getting them to the destination. Ash couldn't help but be a little jealous of his buddy.

Latias laughed in response much to Ash's surprise when he remembered she could hear his thoughts, 'Pikachu is cute. You're the ladies man in my book.' She responded in his head.

Ash blushed a little, 'Y- Yeah…' He thought back while Bianca looked between Ash and Latias.

She looked a little indignant, "Am I missing out on something here?" She figured they were speaking even now. She was correct.

Latias turned away slightly trying to play it straight, "No… Not really." She didn't have a perfect poker face.

Bianca narrowed her eyes for a moment causing Latias to sweat, but then she got a playful smile, "Hey Ash…" She trailed off as Ash looked back at the paddle in the water.

"Uh… Yeah?" He felt the boat shake a little and he himself lost a bit of his balance. He wondered what was up when he heard a smaller voice than usual in the back of his mind.

Together they climbed the stairs to the main road. Pidgeys and Hoothoots flew in the sky while Pelipper snoozed away on the rooftops above. The alleyways merged together into a seamless transition directly in front of the popular restaurant. Ash was particularly starving at this point and he even felt Pikachu drool a bit onto his sleeve which shocked him quickly enough.

Latias looked at the bench just outside the place and beckoned Bianca to come sit with her. Ash walked over for a moment to let Pikachu hang with the ladies.

Once Pikachu was situated, Ash smiled, "I'm going to get them to prepare us a table. I'll even add some credentials." Ash said to them both as Bianca smirked.

"You've definitely changed." She said as Ash's face brightened a bit.

Latias agreed with her sister as he proceeded to leave them sitting back. Latias enjoyed the mix of cool and warm night air alongside Bianca. Pikachu sat on Bianca's lap while she stroked his ears. Latias' hand joined hers and they both played with Pikachu's ears much to his enjoyment.

'We can talk about it in a few.' Latias refused to elaborate on that and Bianca relented afterward. Latias turned immediately once she felt a presence coming closer. This sudden change made Bianca a bit more alert as well. One man was walking up and happened to see them both sitting outside the establishment.

He sidled up to them, "Hey! You two look pretty good. Too good to be here by yourselves. Why don't you join me?" He asked while getting closer to the bench much to Latias's displeasure.

"Name's Koro. I just popped into town because I heard a famous trainer was visiting." Koro grinned, "I never expected to run into some beauties while looking for him. Whaddya say to getting outta here?" He reached out for Latias' hand, grabbing it and trying to pull her up, but as he looked down. He saw an alarming thing. Pikachu was already standing on his arm with an angered look upon his face.

Koro was confused, 'When did that thing move? He was just on the other girl's lap a moment ago.' 

'You'd better let go.' A voice echoed in his head causing him to let go of her hand.

"What?!" He yelled as he looked around, "Where is that voice at?!" He yelled as onlookers began to show up to see the commotion. He had forgotten that Pikachu hadn't let go of his arm and what happened next was him being electrocuted by the mouse Pokemon. He stumbled backward as Pikachu leapt off his arm and he finally hit the ground.

You can pick which Pokemon I'll use." Koro was a little shocked at this, but Ash's stern gaze narrowed, "Unless you'd rather leave now?" He questioned his prey.

Koro, despite his shock and misgivings, pointed at the third poke ball on the belt, "That one! I'll pick that one!" Koro didn't offer the same luxury to Ash, but this young champion couldn't possibly care considering the circumstances.  After all, Koro had indeed chosen wrong. He did keep at least two Pokemon on him that he'd had for a good while and these two he had a great bond with.

Ash smirked and Pikachu hopped off his shoulder, "This should be good." Despite his dislike for the person, he'd never turn down a battle.

Lorenzo had shown up right as the crowd was beginning to overtake the area. He began to comb his way through the crowd to see what was going on. Lorenzon then noticed Ash was about to battle that person and smiled, "Get him my boy! Show that lousy person what would happen if he hurt my grandchildren!" He shouted as Ash gave him a thumbs up.

Ash on the right side while Koro stood on the left. Even a crowd had made their way out of the restaurant just to see this battle. Some even recognized that the trainer on the right had battled the other day.

"Woah! It's Ash again!" Ash turned to see Sato walking up.

Ash threw the Pokeball up and called his own Pokemon, "Let's go, Sceptile!" The lean wood gecko popped out of the ball in a burst of light in midair. He did a spin and landed gracefully on the ground. Sceptile took its signature twig and bit down on it while giving his opponent a glare.

Ash clenched his hand into a fist, "Let's start it off with a Quick Attack!" Sceptile obliged by leaning forward and dashing at Electivire with blinding speed.

Koro gritted his teeth, "Dodge it quick, Electivire!" Electivire leapt into the air, but Ash was quick to change tactics.

"You're not getting away! Bullet Seed!" He shouted as Sceptile let loose a mighty barrage of yellow seeds from his maw. Electivire was overwhelmed by the onslaught of seeds that were literally exploding in his face.

Koro couldn't let this go on, "Burn the seeds away with Thunderbolt!" Great sparks filled the air as Sceptile's barrage began to not even reach the foe in question. As Electivire landed, his trainer gave another command, "Get in close and use Ice Punch!" Electivire ran into action as one of his fists took on the power of frost.

Ash and Sceptile would respond quickly, "Sceptile, dodge it and retaliate with Leaf Blade!"

He roared, "Sceptile!" Then without warning his body began to glow an intense white as clones began to pour out of it in a speedy fashion.

Electivire was confused, "Electi?" As he was surrounded by an army of Sceptile. Ash couldn't believe it, had Sceptile disobeyed his command? All of the afterimages began to grow Leaf Blade out of their arms.

Ash chuckled to himself, 'Oh, I get it. You must have learned some new moves and wanted to show off. Well, let's see it.'

Electivire was being overwhelmed by sheer numbers at this point, "Don't let them break your focus, Electivire! Thunderbolt!" He shouted as let loose a powerful blast of electricity that hit all of the images at once. 

Just as he'd been freed of these distractions, Electivire realized that he must not have gotten his intended target. He was beginning to sweat as Ash smirked.

'He doesn't even realize it…' Ash thought as Sceptile blitzed from the rooftop, appearing behind Electivire. The big electric type felt intense pain in his legs and it caused Electivire to fall to its knees in agony. Sceptile's Leaf Blade folded back in while he turned back to see the felled pokemon.

'Woah! His Sceptile's too fast! There's no way anyone could counter that.' Sato thought as Ash reared back up.

"I guess you don't mind if we continue on the offensive!" Ash yelled as he looked into Sceptile's gaze who met Ash's eyes with one of his own. A spark passed between them both at this moment.

"Use Sunny Day!" The seeds on his back began to glow as a golden shining ball blasted into the sky. It created a warm sun above everyone in the area.

Electivire was struggling to get up from the previous damage he'd taken, "Get up! He's preparing to end this and we aren't letting that happen!" Electivire upon hearing his trainer, forced himself up.

Koro smirked "You have no chance now, Ash! We're determined to beat you!" He gave a wink in Bianca's and Latias's direction. But they didn't take to the idea that Ash would lose.

'Pardon me, Ash. But you know what that kid said earlier?' Latias asked him with her telepathy.

Koro looked a bit worried at this point, "Don't let that Sceptile play mind games! Just power through! Close Combat!" Electivire charged in and began to throw multiple fists and kicks, but Sceptile was dodging all of them. 

Right as another punch was thrust forward, Ash realized it, "Use a quick attack to duck and slide past him!" Sceptile did just that causing Electivire to overextend his punch and throw off his balance which made him hop on one leg forward very awkwardly.

Lorenzo, still holding onto Latias, was impressed, "Ash is being very tactful. There's only one way this could end." Being much older, he could tell that this matchup wasn't even close. 

Sato was just excited to be in range of his hero and watching this unfold. Bianca was enjoying the entertainment to say the least and Latias was hoping that this wouldn't ruin the night she'd planned. Ash was in his element as he prepared to end it.

Sceptile jumped up quickly, "Sceptile, use Double Team and then fire off a Solar Beam!" Sceptile nodded, then the familiar glow surrounded his body. Afterimages were covering the area right as Electivire recovered his balance.

But little did Ash know that Koro had been waiting for this, "Use Discharge!" Quickly putting his electrical outlets together, the entire area was charged with electricity. Sceptile's shock was palpable when he found that he was paralyzed.

"Sceptile's in trouble!" Sato exclaimed as the crowd went wild.

Ash frowned as Electivire began to close in on Sceptile, "That's right, Ash! I'm ending this before you get the chance to do anything! Ice Punch, shut it down!" Koro yelled at his Pokemon.

Sceptile seemed to be grinning as Ash's frown turned upside down, "It's already over!" Koro was in shock at those words, but it was too late to turn back.

Lorenzo chuckled, "I figured that he'd realize it." He felt that Ash had complete control of the situation entirely.

Ash moved into a more dynamic pose with both of his fists in front of his torso, "Finish it with Solarbeam!"

"Electivire! No!" Was the last thing his Pokemon heard as a devastating Solar Beam encompassed Electivire's body. An explosion rang out and even the cobblestone street was damaged by the attack's output. Smoke tore through the area at high speeds. The wind was intense, pushing back both competitors and even people watching from the windows were having trouble keeping their shutters under control. Koro and Ash had to brace themselves from the force of the impact.

Sato was surprised that Koro had forgotten that Ash had already ordered an attack that had plenty of range even before the paralysis. Sending Electivire in close was a loss waiting to happen.

Lorenzo let go of Latias and walked over to Ash, "I'll cover the cost of the food if you take care of the damages done to the restaurant." "Thanks, Lorenzo! It really wasn't an issue." He assured the older man as Bianca and Latias approached.
