Kuso's story by aleate

Day ???+1: Gaining Trust

Your eyes slowly open to the sound of Sparrow's chirping and the sight of the sunrise on top of the trees. As you start to get up, your foot falls off into open air. You quickly catch yourself, then look down at the ground below. You sigh as you position yourself on the branch so you're in a sitting position. You sit on the branch a while just thinking about no particular thing. You watch as small pokemon running by on the ground. You look over at the cave by this tree. You sigh as memories of you and your love come back into your mind. As you think of these things, you start to hear voices from inside the cave.

"Good morning, Shani", says one voice, which you immediately recognized as Ele.

"Good morning Mom", says another voice, which must be your unknowing child.

"I'm gonna go get some food, I'll be right back", Ele says. The eevee must have nodded, because seconds later, you see Ele walk out of the cave and off into the bushes. You jump off the branch and quietly follow her. As you push branches aside to keep up with her, you finally get to a clearing, where you see her. She is already at a bush, picking off some berries and putting them on a pile on the ground. You slowly start to approach her, making sure your cloak is closed. You reach out a hand to touch her on the back...

Your canine-like ears pick up the sound of rustling leaves to your right. "It must be another pokemon, can't let them see me". You quickly turn and run back towards the bush that you came from. You turn, hiding in the bushes, back to your love. She apparently just hearing the noise, looking over, as a look of shock goes on her face. You look over and views what she sees. It was a trainer, and a large Venusaur.

"Looks like it's your lucky day Venusaur", says the trainer, looking at Ele. The pokemon just grins and nods. You look back over to Ele and see that she is slowly starting to back away from the two. Apparently the trainer saw this too.

"Venusaur, Sleep Powder", says the trainer. Just as he said it, the Venusaur unleashes its Sleep Powder tecnique. As dust flies over Ele, she looks up at it fearfully. It falls down on her as her eyes instantly start to droop. Your mouth drops as she falls over and loses consciousness. You see the Venusaur give a wide smile as he starts to advance on the unconscious body of your love. He looks back at his trainer, who nods. "I can not let them see me... but I just can't let him do that to her. I won't let him!", you think. You stand up, making sure the cloak is hiding your face, and quickly walk out between her and the Venusaur.

"What the hell do you want?!", says the trainer to you.

"I won't let you have any contact with this Espeon, leave now!", you say to the trainer.

"Really? Well, I don't think that my Venusaur likes that you even showed up", says the trainer. "He can understand me? Ah, whatever", you think. As he says this, the Venusaur starts to growl at you.

"I don't care about you, I just want no harm to come to this Espeon", you respond.

"Alright, but I am not responsible for what my Venusaur will do to you", says the trainer. When he finished, you hear the ripping of wind just a few feet in front of you. "Vine Whip", you think. You jump to avoid the attack. As soon as you land you jump toward the assailant. You curl your hand/paw into a fist and nail him right in the jaw. The Venusaur starts to fall, but catches his fall. You land off to his left and look back at him and... wait, why can you see him? AH CRAP! The hood of your cloak fell back from the force! You quickly try to pull it back over, but to no avail, since both the trainer and the Venusaur already saw you.

"What the hell are you?!", says the trainer, with a generic expression of fear on his face.

"I told you to leave!", you say to him, reaching and pulling the hood back over your head.

"I don't care if you are some kind of unknown pokemon", says the trainer, "I want that Espeon!". You let out a large sigh as you get back into a state of readiness. The trainer looks over at his Venusaur, he returns it to its Pokeball. He puts it back on his belt and pulls out another Pokeball. "Go Blastoise", he says. As he says, a normal looking Blastoise come out of the light of the Pokeball.

"He, try this!", says the trainer, "Blastoise, retreat back into your shell and hit him with it". He starts to retreat back into his shell with a smirk on his face. Just as he started, it started to happen again. Time got distorted and slowed to a semi-stop. You just shrug and walk over to the Blastoise and get him into a head lock, and just as unexpectedly as it started, it stopped. The Blastoise trys to retreat his head which, obviously, he couldn't do.

"How the hell...?", you hear the trainer say behind you.

"LEAVE! NOW!", you scream at the trainer. He finally complied as he turned and started to run off in the opposite direction. You finally release the Blastoise beneath you as he quickly retreats back into his shell. You snicker at this sigh of weakness from such a macho pokemon. You line up behind the Blastoise in the direction the trainer ran. You focus your power and nail the shell with a immensely hard kick. It goes speeding off in the direction of the trainer. A few seconds later, you hear the sound of an impact and a loud groan of the trainer.

You slowly walk over to the unconscious body of your love. You look down at her. It looks like she is fine. You have not gotten this closer since you came back. You closely look her over. She has not changed that much since you last saw her. You pick her up in your arms and start to walk in the direction of the cave.

When you reach the cave, you walk in and set her down in the middle of the cave. You flop yourself down on one side of the cave. You look the cave over. Same as Ele, this has not changed that much. While you are looking, you hear a small noise in the corner. You look over and see something that you had totally forgotten about, the small eevee, trying to hide herself behind a rock.

"I can see you, theirs no reason to hide.", you say, making sure your hood is low enough. She cautiously walked out from behind the rock, her ears and tail down as low as they could go.

"A-Are you going to hurt me?", she says, with fright in her voice.

"No, no I'm not", you say. As you say this, she starts to run over to Ele.

"Mom? Mom?! What did you do to her?!", she says to you.

"I saved her, and another pokemon did that to her", you state, "Stupid sleep powder. She'll be fine in a few hours". The eevee turns to you.

"Who are you?", she asks. "Oh crap, what am I gonna say?", you think, rubbing the back of your neck.

"My name is Kuso", you reply softly.

"Ok, Kuso, my name is Shani.", she says, sitting down. "I know", you think to yourself. "Do you know my mother?", she asks. "If only I could tell you, and for you to believe me", you think.

"No, I don't know her, I just saw her and she needed help, so I helped", you say, looking over at her. She just nodded at this. The two of you just sat there in silence for a while. You stand up and start to walk out.

"I have one request for you.", you say to the eevee. She nods as a response. "I do not want you to tell your mother my name. You can say that I saved her, but you can not mention my name".

"Alright, I can do that.", she says. You walk out of the cave leaving your daughter and love. You look up seeing that it was starting to get late. You sigh as you walk back over to the tree, looking around to see if anyone was watching. Nope. You jump up and grab the branch and pull yourself up. You lean against the trunk of the tree with one of your legs on the branch and the other hanging off. You close your eyes to rest.

After what seems like a few minutes, you open your eyes again. It was dark. "Musta fallen asleep...", you think. You look over to the cave. There was a light coming from inside. "I guess she's up", you think, "I wonder if Shani told her... no, if she has any of her mothers manners, she won't say anything. I'm glad Ele's ok". You close your eyes again and drift off into a deep sleep.
