Heaven's Chosen by kiro

First Instructions.

Barton woke up when his body realized he was alone in the bed. He had been laid on his back and
covered up, his wounds were dressed and half way healed. His head was spinning and throbbing, his
arms were sore and felt as if they weighed a ton, the same was true for all parts of his body. The only
thing in the bed with him was a note laying beside him. Ignoring the pain he picked it up and brought it
to his face. He was shocked to see it was by Calus, so he was quick to read it.

"You are becoming quite the fighter, you managed to fuse two elements into one and beat a general,
and walk away with your life. I guess I will keep things short, I am waiting for you outside, it's time we
began your training, it's far earlier than we wanted but Haven is making their move and we need to
speed things up. Beside the bed is a pill, take it, it should heal you and take the pain away. After that
come outside and get ready.

Calus."

Barton laid the note on the table beside the bed, noticing the small pill, it had a brownish color and was
about as small as an aspirin. He brought it to his mouth and swallowed it quickly, shivering at the
disgusting taste. He waited for a minute or so before he realized he was feeling like nothing was wrong.
He sat up slowly and looked over his body, all his wounds were gone and there were no signs that they
had ever been there. He quickly through on his normal clothes and ran out the door. When he got
outside he saw Calus standing there smiling, waving him over. "Come on, we have work to do,
everyone is waiting." The two walked quickly until they were in the same clearing that Barton had
beaten Kyutske in. Calus stepped in front of Barton and looked back at him, "I think you know where
you are, as for why, this is where you forcibly mastered the wind and ice elements. You probably didn't
know you did, but in fact you now have full control over those two elements as if they were your own
hands. The reason, we don't know, normally it takes years of training to accomplish what you did, but
apparently you can do it far more smoothly, so we don't need to waste years. We are here to have you
meet your first teacher and learn your next element. Since you can control two we thought maybe we
should try two at a time and see how it goes, I trust you have no objections?" Barton shook his head,
he was grinning ear to ear, eager to learn his next lesson. "Since you have wind and ice, we want to
teach you how to use their opposites, of course that means earth and fire." The mere mentioning of fire
drew a shiver from Barton, "Are we sure I can do fire, last time I lost it and killed someone, in fact I did
that twice. I don't think I can control it, it's two powerful.."

Calus simply stood there and kept talking, "I didn't ask nor require your opinion, I am telling you what
you are going to do. The reason we chose fire is because you have such difficulty with it, and we don't
need you going berserk and killing anyone that isn't part of Haven." Calus turned and walked as he
talked, "Your teacher is going to help you master fire and earth so let's not keep him waiting." Barton
sighed and ran after Calus, still nervous and apprehensive about fire. They walked for about an hour
before they came to a rather large cliff. "We thought it would be best to do this as far from people as
possible so we chose down there." Calus pointed to the bottom, it had a small pond in the middle with a
figure standing in the middle. "That is your first teacher, don't be surprised by his looks, like me he is an
ancient race and he is the last of it." Before Barton could reply Calus had leapt down the cliff, so Barton
jumped after him. It took only about forty-five seconds before they landed and Barton was greeted by
Bria and Nadi. The two hugged him and smiled, "Took you long enough," they said at the same time.

Barton smiled and everyone got quiet when the figure approached them, wearing black pants, a dark
blue shirt, and black hat and black sunglasses. He stopped around six feet from them and dropped his
hat and glasses, revealing silver eyes and what looked like fox ears, only smaller. He had long red hair,
almost as long as Barton's and his ears were triangle shaped, and standing up, also red. His voice was
neither deep nor high, and he was showing a bit of frustration as he spoke, "This is the boy I am to
teach, you lying bastard he has barely reached puberty, what the hell am I going to do with him? I was
expecting someone young but this is nothing more than a child. You really want to shove so much
weight on his shoulders?" Calus smiled nervously, "He has already beaten a general, something that
none of my men can do, something you may not even be able to do.." The figured snapped back, "Well
if he is so strong why do you need me?" "Because you have more experience then an entire battalion of
my men and that's exactly what we need." The figure shrugged, "Fine but you owe me double what we
agreed on." Calus nodded and pushed Barton forward, "Say hello to the world's oldest living elemental
master, well probably the only one other that Haven's leader. He was the greatest fighter long ago,
before he went into hiding. He is the last of his race and as such has all their knowledge at his fingertips.
His name is Kiro, the last of the fox demon tribe." Kiro smiled, showing his fangs, "You could have
made that shorter but I guess I forgive you for bringing the chosen as my final pupil."

Calus took the two girls to the tent he had set up, allowing Bria to rest and Nadi to cook while Barton
and Kiro got better acquainted. "Kiro..what did you mean your last pupil?" The demon looked at the
ground and sighed, "After I teach you everything I know, I will hide myself until the end of my days, I
don't want anymore people coming after me wanting my powers and all that junk, I want to be left
alone." Barton sighed, "You don't have to teach me, I'm sure I could manage to figure everything out by
myself." Kiro smirked and shook his head, "No, you'd die trying. Let's start with fire, I want you to
gather as much fire energy as you can handle and condense it to a ball, make it as small as possible."
Barton nodded and held his right hand out, his palm facing up. He closed his eyes and let out a deep
breath as a roaring flame appeared in his hand. The fire was about two feet high and bursting out in all
directions. Kiro stepped back, "I guess without any previous training that's not to bad but it sucks
compared to what I told you to do. Those flames are representing your thoughts, it means you aren't
focusing, your mind is racing with more questions and thoughts than you need. Clear your mind and
focus on nothing but fire. All your thoughts should be on that flame in your hand." Barton sighed heavily,
trying to eliminate all thoughts but the one on the flame in his hands. As he stood there the flame
gradually began to shrink and calm, going from a roaring fire to a calm sphere. After two minutes he
had the flame at about a six inches in all directions. Kiro smiled and clapped lightly, "Good good, Calus
is right, you learn fast and adapt faster. Now I want you to let the flame consume your arm up to the
elbow. But it can't be a roaring fire, it should look like a red film covering you." Barton groaned, getting
the flame small was hard enough but having it cover him as a light film was asking a bit much. "Aren't
you pushing my luck a bit far, if I mess this up I'll have to fight with one arm." Kiro smirked and barked
back, "If you fail your training ends here as well as the fate of the world. Now do as I say, just
concentrate and allow the flame to spread across your arm, just keep it under the same control as you
do now.

Slowly the orb began to disperse over Barton's arm, as it moved it sent small flickers of pain all through
his arm. It took him almost an hour to get it to cover his whole arm, and even then it was still unstable,
flickering on and off, as well as burning him every so often. Even though it wasn't perfect it was still a
great feat and was readily applauded by Kiro, who was smiling and clapping. "Good good, it's not
perfect but if you use it in this form you should be able to absorb all fires and repel any ice attack. The
key to perfecting it lies within your mind, you have to clear it completely and focus only on the fire, no
fear is allowed. With more time it should become as natural as walking. But enough with fire, Calus
says you should have mastered ice and wind so let's see you do the same trick with both of them, one
each arm." Barton opened his eyes slowly, causing the flames to dissipate and disperse. He held his
arms straight out, closed his eyes again and began concentrating. Almost immediately the orbs
appeared as small as the fire orb had been but even more docile. Without even trying they spread and
covered his arms in an instant, no pain no sweat. His actions were quickly applauded by Kiro who
walked over to Barton. "Keep the ice barrier going, I want you to see just how effective these barriers
can be." Barton nodded and let the wind barrier die down. Kiro held his left arm out and a raging flame
incased his hand. He drew it back and brought his fist ramming into Barton's arm, just below his elbow.
When the two elements crossed the flames instantly burned out and the ice barrier remained strong.
"You see, when done properly you can deflect or even destroy attacks of your opponents. However, if
your opponent can do this as well or puts enough power behind his attacks it can negate the barrier, so
from their you have to work on your own."

"That's enough for now, you really don't need much training, just some work on calming your mind. An
explanation should help so listen." Barton allowed the barrier to disperse as Kiro talked, he thought it
best to listen without distractions. "Each element is controlled by emotions and there for require either
more or less focus, depending on the controlling emotion. The most obvious is fire, it's controlling
emotions are anger, passion, rage, hatred, all those negative feelings feed the flame and can either help
or destroy you. Lightning and ice are both controlled by sorrow and fear, wind and water by courage
and desire. Earth is controlled purely by your focus, so it has no controlling emotion. Space and time,
which in time you will master, are controlled by all emotions, how you feel dictates how easily you can
use them. You should be able to do basic time and space manipulation, such as second pauses and
short distance teleportation. You wont need them yet so you should work on them as you go, just be
aware time manipulation requires a lot of energy, so using it in rapid succession would likely leave you
drained for days so try to push it a bit at a time. When I say time manipulation I mean you could
actually go through time, not as easily as Celebi but you could go years into the past or future, but you
would disappear and therefor the future would be as if you weren't there. As for space, though not
quite as demanding as time it still could tear your body apart if you use it for too long or too much. Even
so, it's pure power could turn the tide of an entire war, allowing you to transport an army to a location a
continent away, with enough training of course."

" Now it's time for you to take a bit of a rest while Mew, Jirachi, Celebi, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Moltres, and
Zapdos convene for a meeting to discuss how we strike back. So I suggest you head to the Kanto
region, hide for a bit and relax. I know the Lucario is expecting so you may want to wait a few months
and allow her to give birth before your next move." By this time the girls and Calus had started moving
towards Barton and Kiro. When they got there Kiro had begun walking away, leaving one final
message for Barton. "Your powers are great but without focusing your mind you may end up dying, so
when you find yourself in battle and can't seem to focus, think of those you love, that should help." With
that he waved and walked off into the forest, disappearing from sight quickly.

Bria was the first to talk, "So what do we do now Barton?" He shrugged and pulled her into his arms,
"Kiro said we should head to Kanto, wait for our child to be born, then make our next move. So I
guess we head to the smallest town in Kanto." Calus smiled and slowly began floating, "Well I think that
would be Pallet town, I'll go on ahead and get a place for you, just don't expect much, I may be an
angel but im not rich." Everyone laughed and waved as Calus flew off.

The group decided to go to Goldenrod city and take the train to the Kanto region. Before boarding
Bria and Nadi went shopping so they could have some snacks and drinks on the train. They grabbed
what the thought would be good and headed to meet Barton who was waiting outside the train station
holding the three tickets. Everyone smiled and walked quickly to the train, which was less crowded
then Barton had originally thought, he figured for an inter-continental train it would have been pretty full
but the three of them were about the majority of people. With everyone seated and Bria and Nadi
chattering away endlessly about the baby and baby names Barton stared out the window thinking about
his powers, as well as his fight with Kyutske. The knowledge that each of the remaining generals was
stronger than Kyutske had him very worried. His mind was racing with thoughts of their terrible power,
his only comfort was the fact that he hadn't been going all out so he felt he could still take one maybe
two more of the generals out before he would be in trouble. Before he knew it the train had docked and
it was time for everyone to get off. As Barton got off Bria took her chance and jumped on his back,
"Geddy up." She smiled and wrapped her arms and legs around him tightly. The two of them smiled
and Barton began walking around town carrying his pregnant lover around, Nadi at his side laughing
almost uncontrollably at them. They stopped at the Pokemon Center to get directions and they took off
heading for Pallet Town.

After walking for a few hours the group decided to rest beside a pond, and with the pond there
everyone decided to clean up. The three of them disrobed, well Barton and Nadi disrobed, they all
stepped in the water and Bria had dived under. Barton sat down against some large rocks and closed
his eyes, relaxed and happy. Bria took her chance and jumped in his lap, clinging to him and nuzzling his
neck. Barton smiled back at her and kissed her neck lightly, "I take it you wanted a chair?" She
nodded quickly and smiled, "MY chair." She kissed his lips lightly and held him tightly, "Is it ok?" He
nodded and closed his eyes again, laying his head against her shoulder and thinking to himself, "Life's
going to be fun from now on." So that night the group slept by the pond, Bria in Barton's arms and
Barton being held by Nadi.
