Episode 8 - (Season Finale) The Kuhn Hereditary Attack: Jherek vs Aiiran (Part 2)

"Fireworks"
By Amy Lowell

"You hate me and I hate you
And we are so polite, we two!

But whenever I see you, I burst apart
And scatter the sky with my blazing heart.
It spits and sparkles in the stars and balls,
Buds into roses... and flares and falls.

Scarlet buttons, and pale green disks,
Silver spirals and asterisks,
Shoot and tremble in a mist
Peppered with mauve and amethyst.

I shine in the windows and light up the trees,
And all because I hate you, if you please.

And when you meet me, you rend asunder
And go up in flaming wonder
Of saffron cubes, and crimson moons,
And wheels all amaranths and maroons.

Golden lozenges and spades
Arrows of malachite and jades,
Patens of copper, azure sheaves.
As you mount, you flash in the glossy leaves.

Such fireworks as we make, we two!
Because you hate me and I hate you.

I felt the power coursing through my veins, it was like fire flying threw each and every one of my veins and all of that fire just focused itself at my heart. The only thing I could think of at this moment was, "I know I could defeat this guy now..."

Aiiran stared at me with a hint of fear in his face, I knew that he must have been surprised at my transformation. Since this move was a rare thing to occur, he has probably never seen this before. I figured it would be a real fainting moment if a Zangoose turned completely black and red before your eyes.

I felt the burning pain fade away as my skin began to smoke where my wounds were, my healed wound glowed a bright red then suddenly disappeared from view, "The... the power is healing me?" I asked myself, staring at the obvious effect. This power gave me this amazing confidence, I felt like I could run straight into a PEF HQ and just take out their commander.

"...perfect"

"So, I see you have a special hereditary move... those old breeders used to talk about this, some Pokemon have weird hereditary that comes from whoever their parents are..." Aiiran said, pretty much explaining all this to himself. He looked away from and just stood there, staring at the old hospital, his hair blowing freely in the breeze.

"...Even with this special move, you still can't defeat me!" he yelled suddenly, his loud, booming voice almost startled me enough to make me lose my balance. I saw his right foot lift up, the next thing I knew... he was sprinting towards the hospital as fast as he could, both of his arms behind him as he ran, it was like he was trying to grab something that was behind him, but I guess that's just the way some humans run.

"Aiiran! Get back here you coward!" I yelled, my strangely demonic voice making this sentence more frightening as I growled loudly, watching him flee like a whipped Shinx, "I'll give you 5 seconds to cease running..." I whispered, counting to five slowly like a kindergarten teacher.

I let out a loud roar as I realized that he wasn't coming back when I got to 5 seconds, I chased after him, drool covering my fangs and dripping out of my mouth as I charged like a wild beast. My colors of the night began to fade from my vision, I was just moving too fast.

I had never felt this kind of rage before, I knew it was the first time I have actually unleashed the Inner Rage power, but I didn't know it gave so much power and regeneration to my body, it was almost like the perfect attack.

"Oh no..."

That was the only thing that could escape my mouth as I saw that Aiiran was dropping landmines randomly on the ground. It didn't take him anytime at all for those kinds of mines just need to detect the soft dirt and go into Alert-mode. If I were to tread on one of those things, I would surely end up being blown to bits.

Aiiran just waited for me to step on a mine, showing his annoying smirk once again, this angered me even more.

I shut my eyes tightly, dark colors racing around in my sights. I shut them until the black background of my eyelids covering my eyes turned white, then I opened my eyes and let out a loud roar as I began to evade all of the mines Aiiran set up with great Agility.

"There are so many!" I yelled as I quickly avoided all of the mines on the floor, I saw Aiiran's smirk turn into a shocked look, "Stay back you vile creature!" I heard him yell as he un-clipped a grenade and tossed it in my direction.

The only two things racing through my mind at the moment were "If I keep moving forward, I'll blow up along with that grenade!" and the other thing was, "Where the fuck was he getting all of these damn grenades?!"

I felt my instincts take over as I passed all of the mines, my beast-like qualities kicking in. My entire face was scrunched up in rage, my fangs completely sticking out, my black and red fur spiking up in the wind.

"Get this shit out of here!" I yelled, my abnormal voice getting even deeper and more beast-like with each passing second. I grabbed the grenade and threw it quickly behind me.

Aiiran noticed this when he turned around to look at me as he continued running towards the hospital, I saw his look turn even more surprised. He let out a loud gasp in terror and shock, I knew he was finally beginning to fear my power.

The grenade exploded behind me, the force causing me to charge even faster, taking almost 10 ft. steps along the way.

I began to hear a multitude of explosions afterwards, the grenade must have triggered the other mines to explode as well, the red light shined brightly and flickered light and dark as the fire from the explosions expanded.

Aiiran had no where else to go, I had him cornered right near a window that concealed the hospital's interior. Aiiran's fear-filled face turned into anger as he pulled out the 9mm pistol he had been keeping at his side for this entire fight, "Say 'Bye' bitch!" he yelled, copying my exact tone from before, "What happened to him?" I asked myself, wondering why he would do such a stupid thing.

I jolted towards him right at that exact second, letting my increased speed take over my body. The speed felt so right though, it was like I was born to go this fast. This was like nothing I had ever experienced before in my life, I moved forwards so quickly that all of my surroundings completely stopped for a second, did I just whip forward at an impossible speed? Sure looks like it.

I appeared right in front of Aiiran before he even had a chance to point the pistol and knocked it from his hands, a yellow and red colored spark flying from the pistol's metallic structure.

"Die you piece of crap!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as I began to unleash all of my fury against his body. I clawed at his PEF protection, completely turning some parts of it to ribbon.

Aiiran was now at my mercy, he couldn't even defend anymore because I was just moving so fast now that he couldn't even see my arm movements... even I, myself, couldn't see my arm movements.

I clawed against him until he was levitating from my constant blows, sparks flying in the directions of which I struck, once more and he just went a little higher and higher each time until I jumped up to his level and lunged forward, my head ramming into his stomach.

To my surprise, Aiiran went farther away from me with the impact of the attack than I expected. He actually went flying threw one of the hospital's windows and straight through one of its walls, he let go of his sword and I heard it clank against the floor and roll out of my sight. I decided to go along with this power, even if I wasn't really fond of it yet, I just needed to make it seem like I knew what I was doing so my enemy wouldn't once again underestimate me.

I just made a quick test of my powers by running straight to the exterior wall of the hospital and ramming into it, I was shocked to see that the wall completely fell apart, the dust from long months of uselessness flying out and escaping into the air.

I jumped inside, taking a quick survey at the interior of the hospital. By the looks of things, I was in the waiting room, there were overturned chairs all around the place, ripped up magazines on the floor and some pinned to the walls, and there was the front desk to my right.

My attention was drawn away from the battle for only a second, it could have been bad if Aiiran was up and about.

I stared at him through a hole in the wall in front of me, he lay there in pain, desperately trying to get up and fight. I walked up to him and grabbed him by the throat as he did to me, laughing in his face on how quickly the tables have turned, "You're finished buddy..." I whispered, preparing to ram my claws into his head, finally ending this battle.

"You have got to be kidding me!!!"

Before I had a chance to end it, I felt his 2 boots shove themselves into my stomach, I groaned in pain as I stepped back a few steps, letting go of Aiiran and grabbing my stomach with my eyes shut.

"You little..." I cut my thought short as I saw Aiiran was trying to escape by once again running up the stairs, getting to the roof. "Same strategy... what can you possibly accomplish by running on the roof?" I asked him in my own mind, "...again, I'll cut him off like I did before" I whispered, I was now getting a bit overconfident, well... not really, this kind of power can't be stopped by just a human like Aiiran, he has to be possessed by some kind of force to beat me now.

I jumped through the hole that led outside of the hospital and grabbed the walls once more, climbing up like a maniac. I growled and grunted as I climbed the wall, my anger was just slowly increases every second, but I knew that I couldn't let this new power take over my reasonable thinking, Aiiran can still be dangerous even if I feel somewhat invincible at the moment, kind of like a teenager.

"Crap... not again..." Aiiran proclaimed softly, like he wasn't afraid. He didn't even have an expression on his face, all I saw was his blank face with blood dripping out from his mouth and his nose, and his gear completely torn to hell.

I charged towards him so quickly that he didn't even get a chance to lift his arms, I clanged my head against his, the pain in my head was most likely no comparison to the pain he was feeling right now.

I shook my head violently, trying to get my blurred up vision back to normal as I grabbed him once more and began to twirl around, his entire body in my hands. I began to aim up and finally I let him go, his entire body just flung straight up with his arms and feet pointing straight down.

I yelled vigorously and jumped straight towards him, still in mid-air. He looked down at me, flying up towards him only to see my head collide into him once more. His entire body just flung out of control right there, completing several back flips until I forwarded that mid-air attack with a kick that sent him straight back down to the rooftops, colliding against the roof at full speed.

I landed near him softly and without a single injury, "Is that what you wanted? The real Jherek Kuhn? Well I can tell you I'm not a walk in the park now, am I?" I calmly said, grabbing his neck tightly as he lay there, half-conscious on the ground.

"...you...I..."

Were the only things that came out of his mouth, actually I was pretty surprised that he was able to talk at all, taking that kind of damage is something a normal human can't survive without breaking every bone in his body, but for what I could see, there was no bone out of place.

"...you Pokemon are all the same..."

My rage-filled face quickly turned shocked and confused at the same time, "What... what would you know about losing someone near and dear to you...?"

He continued, "She... she was the best friend I could ever have you piece of shit!" I yelled, tears almost flying out of my eyes as I shook his head around with my grip tightly keeping his neck in place but flinging his head all around.

"...you... you killed the man who created me, my father... and I just killed someone who caught you while you were lurking in the shadows!" Aiiran's weary voice quickly turned full of rage, I knew we were both extremely angry at this whole situation, we have both lost someone important to us BECAUSE of us.

"Why did you have to take his life? He didn't even deserve it, he never wanted to fight Pokemon... he believed that both humans and Pokemon could be friends once again, that is... until you completely mutilated him!"

"I never meant to hurt anyone... I just did it for my own defense..." I replied, feeling my eyes begin to moisturize itself in sadness once again, I really didn't mean to kill anyone, they were trying to kill me. I must have killed some people who were just in my way...

"This is why I am Lucifer's Apprentice..." he said, talking about that same guy as he did before... Lucifer.

"I wanted power... power to avenge all of my friends who died trying to defend Hoenn from you savages!" Aiiran yelled, I could hear the sounds of battle in the background, the PEF forces must still be going at it. The only thing I wondered at this point was why I didn't see any PEF forces around here.

"What savages? You humans are the ones who yelled in the Pokemon's faces that we were a threat! We were never a threat to you humans!!" I yelled, this entire argument had me thinking about all of the friends and loved ones that have perished because of the humans, how my love for humans quickly turned to sorrow and hatred.

"...don't make me laugh... I knew you creatures were a threat from the first moment I laid my eyes on that first Pokemon that professor gave me, of course... now that Torchic is hanging upside-down on a rope attached to a tree" Aiiran said, his angry voice changed to this evil tone, "...and now, ever since I have received the power from Lord Anriu... no Pokemon can stop me!!!" he yelled with beast-like vigor, suddenly moving both of his feet and rammed them both into my stomach, causing me to fly away far enough for Aiiran to get up and dust himself off.

I hit the floor with a loud crack coming from my neck, but I was lucky it didn't break, probably wouldn't have been a great ending to that. "You're forgetting, you're completely disarmed..." I said, wiping incoming blood from my mouth, "It doesn't matter, I'll kill you with my bare hands!" Aiiran yelled, his tone so convincing that I almost backed down for a minute.

"Hehe... I can't keep myself like this for long, my dad said that whenever I heal myself it just begins to destroy some of my cells after a while, so I'll need to end it now... and I think I have the perfect strategy..." I thought, bending over and arching my back to prepare for a fast charge.

"Double Team time..." I whispered confidently as I focused my energy and created 9 versions of myself in an instant, all standing next to me in an orderly fashion, "Kill him!!" I yelled, pointing at Aiiran. My clones of course did exactly what I told them and began to charge, all roaring with exact copies of my voice.

I knew that Double Team isn't really an attack, it's more of a strategic move, but he doesn't know which one is me and if he's not careful, I could just sneak up on him in the middle of all that chaos and end this all, which was my strategy anyways.

Aiiran jumped as the first two on my nine clones got near him, kicking them both and pushing himself off of them, causing them to disappear from view.

"Okay, time for more clones" I whispered as I tried to create 9 more... but to my surprise I accidentally created over 20 of them, 27 clones now, two of them have already been killed, "Haha, would you look at that... I don't even know my own strâ"attack!" I first whispered then I yelled, all of my clones charging towards Aiiran all at once.

Aiiran took them all on, one by one as they charged. My clones couldn't even touch the guy, he was just moving so fast and he seemed to know where all of my clones were coming from. He yelled and jumped on the head of one of my clones as two more jumped towards him at the same time, he spread out his legs and kicked both of them in the stomach, causing them to disappear, then he moved on to taking out the one who he was standing on top of until he ended up killed each and every clone I sent out to the battleground.

All 27 of them, Aiiran took all 27 of them out so easily. None of them could even get near the guy without getting punched or kicked in the face. A small smirk of success appeared on my face when I remembered what I had up my sleeve.

"Got ya..." I whispered, I was surrounding Aiiran as the fight commenced, he couldn't see me because I was just moving too fast and this is where I came up behind him and grabbed his stomach tightly, the force from my speed caused us both to go flying off of the building.

"Aiiran!!!" I yelled as I began to twirl around with his body still in my grasp, I was going to dive all the way to the ground, causing a collision with his head against the ground to finally ending this fight.

"Get the fuck off of me!!" Aiiran yelled as he grabbed my head and cut loose from my grip in mid-air. He shoved me away from him with all of his strength, we both stopped descending and began to fly horizontally. He flew towards a dead tree while I flew towards the hospital, "Now... die you son of a bitch!" I heard Aiiran yell as he pulled out another grenade and threw it towards me as he landed safely against the branches of the dead tree and I flew in through the window of the hospital, I let out a loud scream of pain as I felt some of the glass parts stick to my back.

I hit the wall hard, impossible not to let out a loud groan. I looked up and saw the grenade flying towards me, "Sweet mother of..."

Before I even had a chance to finish my sentence, the grenade exploded in my face, causing the floor of the hospital I was in to completely collapse, causing me to fall along with it, all the way to the first floor. I heard the power box I avoided earlier on in the fight explode, a line of fire shooting threw every cord in the building. I screamed in agony as the flame engulfed my entire body while I collapsed through all of the floors, descending all the way to the 1st floor.

"I... I lost...?"

I couldn't move anymore, my healing abilities were hurting me more than healing me now. The burning sting from cells trying to reconstruct an injury is very painful when the process is sped up like this. All I knew is that I had to cut this power before it somehow damages my body more than heals it. I barely had to do anything, there was no special ritual I had to commence to break the special power, I just cut it off. My black and red fur slowly returned to white and orange. Afterwards, I sat there in pain, still trying to get up and fight. "I'm not going to lose! I'm going to keep fighting!" I screamed in my head, trying my hardest to get up. There was nothing on top of me, actually I was on top of all of the rubble of all of the floors I fell through. Luckily the roof still held up, it would've been bad if it came down as well.

"Damn it... damn it..." I kept saying, trying very hard not to lose consciousness. I saw Aiiran dust himself off and walk away from the burning building, leaving all of his supplies behind and disappearing into the darkness of the night.

"...yeah, I'm pretty sure he came this way..." I heard a familiar voice announce shortly after Aiiran's departure, "Holy crap! What happened here?" I heard Kaine yell in confusion, his young and girly voice amused me for a bit. Now I knew for certain that Checkpoint 2 found me, Jacob, Riolynn, and Kaine.

I dozed off for only a few seconds, seeing nothing in front of me at first, then when I re-opened my eyes I witnessed Jacob leaning over to pick me up, "You shouldn't have gone so far ahead, now look at all of this" Jacob said, carrying me as if I was a child, "It's a surprise you're not badly injured" he continued.

It has been a long time since I felt the cold skin of a human, now I remembered why I didn't like being carried around by someone, it just felt so very weird.

"That was reckless Jherek... " Riolynn said, taking a long pause, "what happened anyways?" Riolynn asked me, first making me feel like garbage then it looked like she was really eager to know what I did, her eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"...I don't really want to talk about it..." I whispered, not even looking at her, I just stared off at the half-crescent moon, trying to hold in the rest of the pride I had left. I actually lost a one on one battle royal to a human, that's just pathetic. But... then again, something was weird about that guy, he was more faster, stronger, and more strategic than any human I've ever encountered.

"Well, I'm guessing you want to know about your comrades, am I right?" Jacob asked me, I knew he was talking about Yurrei and Belisivious, "Yeah... are they okay?" I asked, realizing my voice has finally turned back to normal.

"Well, Belisivious was injured in the fight, but Yurrei seems fine" Jacob told me, not mentioning if Belisivious was in stable condition or not, but I didn't feel the need to ask him that question, I was just glad that Yurrei was okay.

"...And I got direct orders from Yurrei herself, telling me to get you to a safe haven in the outskirts of Rustboro city, she needs to stay with Belisivious and she said that you need to get out of here" Jacob continued, trying to keep his grip on my heavy body, "Okay..." I yawned, my eyes closed halfway. Riolynn jumped on Jacob's left shoulder and stared closely at me, "Feel free to fall asleep, we'll get you out of here in no time" she said, making me feel better with that cute smile on her face. I decided to do whatever she said, I finally lost my grip on reality and drifted back to my dream world, now I was just glad to be back in my own head, where all of my troubles seem to float away with the wind...

I felt so useless after that moment. I was taking this defeat badly, but damn it how was Aiiran so powerful like that? The thought of him actually surviving that long of a fall is just unbelievable, plus how he escaped my grip at the end of the fight. The very thought just rattled me up, there was no way he could have done all of that on his own.

Plus... he's my trainer's murderer, I felt sad at the moment, but a thought occurred to me, "He's lying, how could he have known who to look for?" I thought, "Yeah, he was definitely bluffing" I told myself. I suddenly felt happy, the logic in that statement couldn't be beaten, there was just no way Aiiran knew who Cindy was, that means I still have a chance to reunite with her.

I was taken by a Rapidash to the outskirts of Rustboro city where I would resign until I am 100% regenerated from this experience near Slateport, Mauville, and Verdanturf.

Now, all I knew is that this adventure is over and I am most likely never going to see Yurrei and Belisivious until I got back to Miir Cyraa. That I was going to be sad about, I'm going to miss Yurrei's friendly face, but I guess I could live without it for a few weeks. And Belisivious, I wasn't in much of a hurry to see him once again, but the thought that he was actually injured in the fight kind of worried me. But I knew that he was stronger than that and he'll pass by this injury, no problem.

I guess this little expedition on how this war was turning out really taught me a lot about this new world we all live in, how it has changed in the past year.

In the past few weeks, I was blasted by rainfall, soaked in freezing water, injured by a PEF helicopter gunner, suffered pneumonia, and I was completely thrashed by the PEF soldier known as Aiiran Walker. So little time yet so much has happened.

Now as I approach what is most likely going to be my new home for a short amount of time I became excited. What new friends would I meet here?

I guess for the next few days it is time for some good old fashioned rest and relaxation, plus make some new friends. I let that humiliating defeat slide past me this time, and the thought of Cindy actually being dead, I won't let it get to my head, I have important things to think about now, I know I'm going to meet Aiiran once again in the future, and I AM going be reunited with my trainer once again, oh yeah, and I couldn't forget about the little Eevee... oh what was he name? Aww I'm just kidding, I can't wait to see little Cindy once again too!

I say... "Let this new section in my life start!"
