Sorrow Ch.14

Carnage looked over the cliff side, smiling, "Soon, soon, soon. Ha ha ha ha ha!" He began to pace, "When they come, Kill each one. When they die, stack'em high. When I'm though, I'll eat them too!" He broke out into a fit of maniacle laughter.

The human was also smiling, "What a pleasent thought. And I have no problems with your plan. Kill, stack, devour. I'm sure they'll taste all the better with the agony we've sprinkled them with."

The pokemon chuckled, "With Sky and Inferno sundered, our foolish little prey will be truly alone. None of the others to rely on. Then we kill, and kill, and kill some more. Until their blood floods the forest floor!" he broke into the same laughter that overcame Carnage.

Taska smiled, "And my favorite part is getting that little houndoom all to myself." She chuckled, "I just wish I could kill that little fool's mate right in front of..."

The human began laughing hard, "HA HA HA! That's a splendid idea! We'll kill our prey's mate! And will make that retch watch! HA HA HA!"

After he was found, Flanno had been carried back to the center of the area. His body was set upon a prye, ready for burning, just as he wanted. Every one had gathered to pay their respects, even Rika, Bane, Tia, and Blaze, though none looked at the others. Bane made no attempt to hide how far he wanted to be from Rika, and Tia did the same to Blaze. Tears were wept by everyone, from young to old, from male to female, from the small and delicate to the big and tough. None could withhold their pain of the passing of such a loved member of their home.

Inferno was given the honor of setting the fire that would bring Flanno's body full circle. Flanno's wound had been cleaned, makeing them barely visable. No one knew why it happened, no one knew who did it. But the belief was the same, Carnage and whoever he served had done it. Inferno set the prye ablaze. He gazed into the sky as the fires consumed the old blaziken. "I'll make them pay. I swear. I won't let them get away with all of this. I won't let your murder go unpunished. I'll make them wish they had never even heard of my name. Hear me old man? I'm actually gonna avenge you. When we meet again, your gonna owe me." He turned and joined Sky. Inferno was the only one who could tears down, but he still had the air of sorrow about him.

Sky buried her face in his side, "Why? Why did he have to die? Why did they involve him in their grudge against us?"

Inferno looked at the growing blaze, a slight snarl on his face, "I don't know. But I don't care why they did it, because they won't be forgiven for it. They won't be allowed to get away with this. I will make them regret bringing any one from my home into our fight!"

She looked at him, and despite it all smiled, "And I'll help insure that. Flanno didn't deserve that. But they'll deserve what they get." Inferno licked her, she licked him back. Rika was watching, and flinched. Tia did the same. Bane huffed, while Blaze turned his gaze away.

After the buring the crowd dispersed. Parents would try to comfort their children, mates would try to do the same for each other. Rika returned home, and stayed silent, her tears appearing to have all been used. Tia went back for the den, that Inferno's father allowed her to use, while Bane went to some secluded spot. Blaze found himself sitting against a tree, looking at the bottle he had found. He couldn't figure out what it did. He didn't feel that same need like he did before. He opened the bottle which had lost some of it's liquid. He had found out a few things: it had a big F lable, it seemed to muffle scents, it evaporated quickly when exposed to the open air, and it seemed to last a short time. Maybe just long enough for a quick session of fun. He sighed, then resealed the bottle. As he placed it down a couple came by, two bayleef. As they passed they muttered something, Blaze knew it had to have been about him. Then suddenly the female stopped. She shook her head a bit then looked at Blaze, her eyes seemed to have had a lustful glaze to them. The suddenly she shook her head again. She looked at Blaze, "What the hell was that!?"

Blaze's face lite up. He grabbed the bottle and looked at the lable. "F.....Female." He bolted off for the spot he had met Flare. When he reached it he began picking through the brush, hopeing to find another bottle. Sure enough he did, this one had the same liquid, but had a big M on it's lable, "M....Male!" He opened it up briefly took a faint sniff, then shut it quickly. He felt that same sensation he felt when Flare came up to him. Only this time he regained control. He wasn't sure whether to smile or growl, it was the latter that finally surfaced, "That's how they did it! Damn it all!" Then he remembered something, "That potion Biogen was makeing. It said it muffled scent but was otherwise useless for combat purposes. That's what Carnage's allies took. DAMN IT ALL THEY PLANNED THIS!" He turned around and began running toward Rika's place, she was the one who needed to hear this most.

After Flanno's body had been consumed by flames Inferno and Sky went back out looking for clues. They started by going up the nearby cliff. When they reached the top Inferno looked around, "I'll go this way, you go that way." Sky nodded then headed off, Inferno going a little way from the edge. As he searched he thought he could feel as if the scents were being muffled.

The spearow flew to his master's shoulder, "He's coming."

The human lifted his pokeball, "Good, return. Now then lets get ready. Taska hide behind there, and I'll set up the last little bottle. Carnage you....where is he?" His face showed concern.

The pokemon looked behind him, "He was right behind me! How did he...."

The human cursed, "HE MOVED TO FUCKING SOON!!!!" He stomped the ground repeatedly, he began cursing as he did so, "DAMN IT ALL!!!!!" He stopped and pushed his hand through his hair, recollecting his cool. "No matter. He's going after the others so no problem. Let him kill'em. It won't make a difference now. We just need to get our prey. So lets get this show on the road."

As Inferno went further the scents of the area were growing harder and harder to make out. He could also feel something clawing at the back of his mind, but couldn't place what. When he emerged in a large clearing, which had a spectacular sight of his home, he stopped. The clawing had become greater, but still unrecognizable. He shook his head, "Well, well, well, aren't you a big bad wolf." He nearly jumped.

He turned and saw a persian walking toward him, in a seductive manner, "Who are you?" He shook his head again. The clawing was getting bigger, and he recognized it as lust.

She smiled, in a truly seductive manner, "I'm Taska. I'm a wanderer I guess. Never was one to stay in one place for long, and I'm glad I found you before I left here. Never thought I'd meet such a ruggedly handsome male here."

As she took a step forward he took a step back, shaking his head, trying to fight off the urge, "Sorry, but I'm taken."

She smiled even more, "Really? I don't see anyone here. She won't know. This could our little secret. Besides haven't you ever wondered what fun could be had with a pretty little cat like me?"

Inferno could feel his will break. He stopped shaking his head, and just stared at her, eyes glazed with lust and want. He shrugged, he didn't know why he'd refused, all he knew was that he needed to have some fun with this little kitty. Hell he was a real fool to say no even once, and for a reason that was obviously unimportant. As he took a step forward he remembered a face, making him stop. Taska raised an eyebrow, Inferno shook his head again. The face he saw was that of an absol, a female, and she looked at him with a smile. He remembered a name, Sky, causing him to shake his head more. Taska stepped forward, "Come on, I can tell you want to."

Inferno growled at her, "I told you.....urrrgh....I'm taken......and I have no plan of going behind.....urgh.....her back.....NONE! I love her....grrr....more than anything...and I won't stop loving her. GET LOST!"

Sky had walked up just in time to see Inferno shaking his head violently. She watched as the persian advanced on him, and she nearly charged forward, knowing what would happen, but then stopped when he growled at the cat. When he spoke of his love Sky nearly cried, she had never felt so happy. She felt tears well up in her eyes, she sniffed, Inferno still fixed the persian with a deadly gaze, "I won't ever betray her trust. As long as my heart beats I won't touch another female. And if you insist on this I'll kill you!" Sky's smile was giant, then she caught a small scent. It was faint, but when she got it, she instantly recognized the persian. Her smile became a snarl, she rushed forward and used a razor wind to push Taska back. "GET AWAY FROM HIM YOU BITCH!!!!" Inferno looked at her, relief plain in his eyes. "WHERE ARE THEY!?" Sky's voice had become harsh and commanding. "WHERE IS THAT SICK LITTLE TRAINER OF YOURS!? WHERE'S DAMIEN!?" Taska sneered at Sky while someone clapped.

The human came forward from the shrubbery, "I must commend you both. Inferno you resisted the potion, when your friends gladly took the flesh I presented them. And Sky, you actually remember me. I'm flattered. I see why you picked him for a mate, he's so damn loyal."

The pokemon emerged next, "Indeed Damien. Just like her trainer."

Sky's gaze didn't let up, "Not surprised your here Scar."

The salamance chuckled, a hole where his right eye was. The human smiled, a massive scar along his cheek, and a missing ear. Damien leaned forward, "We haven't forgotten you either Sky. We've been reminded of you everytime we see a mirror."
