Sorrow Ch.15

Spike and Thorn sat in the small clearing. Despite the time that had past since they had fulfilled their task they had only made a short distante away from the forest. Spike was having trouble leaving, "Damn it Thorn, we can't just let this go! If it wasn't for Rika, Bane would have killed us with everyone else! We can't just leave, not with what is going on."

Thorn shook his head, "And what do you propose we do!? Go back and tell Bane our story!? Do you really think he'll believe us!? He'll kill us more likely!"

Spike wouldn't back down, "Damn it Thorn we both know I'm stronger. We're going back! We'll talk to one of the others before Bane. Now come on!" Thorn growled, but followed. Both ran for the forest, only having a hour run at there current rate.

**************************************

Blaze entered Rika's home. It was small, but that was expected since she was a raichu. He crept in only a few paces before spotting Rika, curled up and sobbing quietly. "Rika!" He ran up, "Rika, guess what."

She didn't say anything at first, then after a long silence, "I don't care. Just leave me alone."

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Blaze couldn't help smiling, "I think you will care. Especially since it will prove to Bane you weren't in your right mind at the time you met those two mightyena."

Rika's ears perked, and she spun about to face him, hope plain in her eyes, "Wh...What?"

Blaze lifted the bottle, "This was what Carnage and his friends took from that Biogen base. This is what caused both of our actions those days."

Rika's headed raised, the last remains of her tears falling, "You mean..."

Blaze nodded, "Now I'm sure you want to thank me, but we need to tell Tia and Bane what I found. It'll have to be Tia first. She might be more inclined to listen." Rika nodded then both ran for Inferno's den.

Tia was curled up, looking up at the sky, sighing. She wanted to believe that what she saw wasn't real, but it was etched into her mind. Every thing she saw was so vivid and horrible that it refused to vacate her mind. She heard foot steps, and sighed again. Then her body grew tense when she heard the voice, "T...Tia?"

She didn't turn, "What do you want Blaze?" She was surprised by the edge to her voice.

Blaze flinched, "Tia....I....I found something..."

"Was it you shame? Or loyalty?" Blaze flinched again.

Rika wasn't going to stay silent, "Tia...It's what made me and Blaze do what we did." her voice had a pleading tone.

This time Tia did turn, surprised to see Rika, not just standing, but not crying. "And why should I believe he was under the same spell?" Her voice didn't lose the edge.

Blaze approached, "Tia...I...I love you...you know that." She scowled at him, tears welling up in her eyes, "Tia....please give me a chance." Blaze now had tears in his eyes, "You're all I have...please don't take that away from me." He lifted the bottle, "Just take a sniff of this." He opened and Tia brought her nose too it, taking a quick sniff. At first she didn't feel anything, but that changed quickly. She could feel a building need, a desire, and it was directed toward Blaze. But just as quickly as it came it vanished. She looked at Blaze, she was willing to let him mount her despite what she saw, like she couldn't think of anything else. Then the fog in her mind vanished. She felt a small surge of hope, "But how can I be sure you..." He revealed another bottle, with an M on it's label.

He got a bit closer, "Because I love you with all my heart Tia..." she saw a tear fall from his eye, "I'd never sacrafice what I have with you. Tia you're all I have, all I want. You're all I need." He hugged her, his head on her shoulders, "Please Tia, forgive me."

Tia stayed motionless for what she felt must have been hours, "Blaze!" she hugged him, holding him tight against her.

"Tia I'm so sorry."

She sobbed, "Don't be. I believe you. I love you, I should know you feel the same." Blaze rubbed his head against hers, what ever else he said muffled. Rika smiled, but it vanished, "will Bane be the same." It was a soft mutter.

Blaze pulled out of the embrace, "We need to tell Bane now. He needs to know." Tia, tears still in her eyes, nodded. They set off for where Tia had seem him walk to.

Bane sat, looking into the water, unmoving. His anger was growing and growing with every passing minute. He hated staying here, here with that traitorus bitch! He snarled at his reflection, hopeing it would rise to his challenge. He noticed the sounds of crunching leaves, someone coming to see. He wasn't going to change his mind about that slut, no matter what any pathetic friend of hers sai..."Bane?"

He turned around, fast and hard, and saw Tia and Blaze, standing together, and worse of all, Rika! "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?"

She flinched and backed away. "B...Bane...please.."

"Get out of my sight!" It was quick and filled with hate. His snarl grew more threatening.

Rika took a step forward, "Bane....will you just...give me a chance?" Her voice was pleading, tears in her eyes.

Bane'd growling grew louder, "A CHANCE!? For what!? For you to fuck another behind my back!? I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY!!!!"

Blaze stepped forward, "Then just let us say it then decide if you don't care anymore!"

Bane's glare went to Blaze, Tia moved up protectivly, "Why should I? Why shouldn't I just tear out your throats!?"

Tia glared at Bane, "I gave Blaze a chance to explain. The least you could do is give Rika a chance!"

Bane was having trouble keeping his glare on all of them, "Just because you so stupid you'll listen to what ever he say's doesn't mean I'm just as stupid!"

Blaze snarled at Bane, "Tia," She looked down, "Hold on to me, and don't let me go. Don't let me do anything, short of breathing. Rika," Rika looked at him, "When you see Bane being affected, put the seal back on this bottle." He opened the M labled bottle, then placed it on the ground. Tia grabbed hold of Blaze, Rika walked up to the bottle and picked up the seal.

Bane didn't know what was going on, but he didn't care, he just wanted them gone. He would kill them if they kept this up, he wouldn't spare them, he'd.....he was losing focus on why he wanted them gone. Blaze was looking up at Tia, a smile on his face, he was trying to move around. Bane shook his head, he could feel lust. His gaze fell on Rika, then the memory of what she did began to fade. Rika noticed and corked the bottle. After a while both of them recovered, "Alright that's enough, thanks Tia."

Bane shook his head again, "Wha....what was that?"

Blaze looked at him, "That was what caused me and Rika to do what we did."

Bane snarled, "Why should I believe that?"

Rika took a few steps forward, "Why would I do it then? Why would I risk what I have with you? Why?"

Bane glared at her, "I don't know why. But you still did it, so I don't care!" As he finished two mightyena came running through the brush. They stopped dead when they saw Bane, who growled at them, "You two have a lot of nerve! You just cut your life short!"

Thorn was nothing but a trembleing mess. Spike wasn't much better, but he fixed Bane with a defiant glare, "I'm not backing down Bane. God know's the damage done when we backed down to your family. Because of that the pack was nearly destroyed. I'm not backing down now! For once your gonna listen to us!"

Bane barked at him, "Why should I!? What do you have to say that I should bother listening to!? You'll be lucky if I don't kill you with this retched little slut!"

Thorn was backing away, while Spike maintained his stance, his shaking subsiding, "DAMN IT ALL!!!! Don't you see!?" Bane didn't lessen his gaze, "It was all a trap, from luring Rika to the spot, to the spearow that told you where she was!"

Blaze nodded, "They used this to wipe out anything short of lust."

Bane growled at Blaze, "Then why is it that when you opened it they weren't affected?"

Blaze pointed to the lable, "M for male," he revealed the second bottle, "F for Female!"

Spike nodded, "They used it once before, it was the F, and it only affected the female test subject."

Bane turned back to Spike, his snarl gone, "Who used it?"

Spike shook, "That thing Carnage. And the salamance Scar. And their boss Damien."

Bane didn't say anything for a while. After a while he dropped his head, "So this was all a trick?" his voice seemed to become forlorn and lifeless.

Rika took another step forward, "yes. I'm sorry Bane. I couldn't overcome it. I didn't know what was happening. I don't know why, but I didn't even try fighting it." She began crying, "I'm so sorry Bane. I'd never want to forsake everything I have with you. Your everything to me Bane. I don't want to lose you...please...forgive me Bane. Please..." Her crying became harder, "I'm so sorry Bane! I'm sorry!"

Bane didn't raise his head, "Shut up." Rika looked like her heart had been cut out, "Just stop....you didn't do anything." A tear fell from his eye, "It was all a trick. And it worked. I bought it hook, line, and sinker." he legs shook, then he collasped to the ground, "I thought you didn't really care." Rika wanted to say something but he didn't let her, "I didn't trust you....Rika I'm....I'll understand if you don't want to see me again. I..I...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He began to lightly cry, "Rika I'm so sorry." He felt a thump against his side, and two arms encircle his neck then squeez.

"Bane!" She hugged him tighter, "You don't have to be. I'm just....so happy I have you." She began to cry again, but for the first time, in what felt like centuries, they were tears of joy. "As long as I have you I'm happy Bane!"

Bane couldn't bare to look at her, after everything he'd done, how could he? But as she nuzzled him, and cryed, he slowly turned his gaze toward her. He saw her smiling, smiling despite what he'd done, what he'd said. He latched his paws around her, pushing her on her back, licking her face. "I'm sorry for everything I said Rika." He didn't give her a chance to say anything, "I didn't know what I'd do without you. I was afraid of living without you Rika. I'm so sorry for everything!"

She licked his cheek, "I'd have done the same. I did the same." She buried her face into his shoulder.

Spike sighed, Thorn quietly rose. Blaze smiled, Tia hugged him. "I'm sorry to Blaze. I should have..."

He kissed her, "Don't bother. I don't blame you."

Spike nodded, "you all need to blame Damien and Scar. Which was another reason we're here."

They all turned their gaze, Bane stood up, "What do you mean?"

Spike cleared his throat, "This wasn't the first time we met them. You recall, Bane that we were among you father's personal gaurd," Bane nodded, "Well one day they came to us. They said they had a proposition for us. Your father was all ears, especially when it had to do with more power. Damien said that a certain pest was going through the forest. He'd make us powerful if we utterly recked this pest. You know how that turned out, your father died and Death took over." Bane looked surprised, "We weren't allowed to kill the target though, only severly injure. They wanted to take their prey's life themselves. They're after the same thing now. They wanted to break up your little group and dishearten their prey."

Bane, Rika, Tia, and Blaze all looked opened mouth, they all wanted to say Inferno.

Spike took in a deep breath, "The one they were after was the absol, Sky." They all looked stunned.

A horrible laughter echoed out, "Yep, and even now they have her in their grasp. In fact by now Inferno's going at that little persian." Carnage landed, a horrible smile on his face, the mightyena skull began to move, "Since they're gonna get their prey, I'm gonna get mine! And so sorry Spike, Thorn. I don't take well to turn coats, to any insubordination actually. But you two know that, that's why I ordered the attack on the little group, where most of our pack met an unfortunate end."

Spike and Thorn stared, Thorn trying to say something, Spike being silent for a short while, "D...Death?"

Carnage nodded, "More or less. I've been fused with someone else who has a grudge against this little group." The arbok head smiled, "That would be me, the names Sarak. I share Death's view on insubordination. You two just signed your death warrents." Carnage lunged forward.

*************************

Damien had a half smile, half snarl. It was pointed at Sky, "Did you think we'd let you get away with what you did?"

Scar glared at her with his one eye, "You took my eye."

Damien nodded, "And my ear. You left me with a jagged scar." He traced the scar, "Do you have any idea how hard it is to hear without your left ear!?"

Taska huffed, "Too bad I couldn't have some fun with your mate. Oh well, you want my help killing them?"

Damien didn't look at her, "You couldn't even lure her most precious one to mount you. What makes you think your useful?" Taska looked agast, "Scar, hyperbeam." Scar aimed for Taska, and fired, sending her off the edge of the cliff, and plummeting to her death. "Don't think you'll get such a merciful end."

The potion was wearing off, "Who are you two? And how did you do that to me?"

"Were aquaintences of Sky. And we used a potion. It doesn't affect us though, even though we are males. I suppose it due to the dark magic that we've delved into. That same magic allowed us to bring Carnage into the mix. Right now, I'd say he's killing you fractured little friends." Damien grew a twisted smile.

Scar chuckled, "You know Sky, this could have been avoided, if only you'd let those mightyena have their way with you. We'd kill you, then your precious Inferno, and beloved friends would have been spared. Oh well. Die and learn I guess."

Sky kept glaring at them, "You blame me for that accident? It was just that, an accident!"

Damien snorted, "My ass. You and that weak, little, bitch Karen intended to do this."

Sky took a menacing step forward, "Don't you dare talk of her! Or so help me you'll join her!"

Damien began to shake, a smile on his face, "Oh my so scary! HA HA HA! Yeah I know of her fate. Too bad really her falling off and all that. Plumeted into the river, drowned. Of course that might not have happened if she didn't save you."

Sky's glare wavered, "How do you know that?"

Scar smiled, "Ohh, we just happened to be there."

Sky's looked stunned, Damien smiled even bigger, "Just like the ground happened to give way at that exact point."

Tears came to Sky's eyes, "You bastards!!!"

Damien kept smiling, "And just like I happened to be there when she washed up to the river bank, still breathing." Sky's face became a blank slate, "And just like I happened to hold her face in the water, while she struggled. And it was all considered an unfortunate accident." Sky took a step backward, her face the epitome of shock. She began to shake, "I'm kind of glad you've avoided our attempts till now. Because now, it's so much worse. Those you care for, have been sundered by our plans. Your friends are dying, being cut down by Carnage. Your beloved's home will burn. He'll die protecting you. You've brought so much sorrow to all that know you. What's it like, being a disaster pokemon? Does it hurt to know, you've damned all those who cared for you." Damien's smile seemed to become eviler and eviler. He erupted into a cold menacing laugh, as Sky collasped. Inferno ran forward, Scar rushed to meet him. Sky let out a piercing scream.
