Episode 32 - The Great City Chronicles: Part One

~The Story of Kuimon: "Makkir Neviiria"~

After leaving Miir Cyraa, Medal of Honor in hand, to "Tie up some loose ends", Kuimon was on his way to a small and unknown town, safe from the PEF, as the daylight still existed. This town was named for the Metagross who tyrannized it, Makkir Neviiria: The town of Neviiria.

Kuimon walked across the lonely, deserted plains near Lilycove city which was conveniently near Neviiria. The grass rustled as he took slow steps just incase any Pokemon and/or humans were preparing an ambush, but he was becoming too tired to watch his back, he kept dozing off and then rushing back into reality fluently.

With his vest on and his staff at his side, he neared the bridge that separated Route 120 from Route 121, but it seemed rickety from a struggle which seemed to have occurred not too long ago by the various blood stains which still dripped down to the river downwards.

With a delirious mind, he continued across, but the bridge began to sway back and forth which jolted him back to full alert when wood planks began falling off the bridge, that is when Kuimon quickly ran across the bridge as fast as he could, reaching the other side in almost half a second. Since it takes quite a bit of energy to travel that fast, Kuimon felt even more exasperated than before, he began to stumble around with each individual step, he fell to his knees and got back up, and his eyelids felt as heavy as bricks.

He suddenly felt a jolt of energy course through his body as he finally saw where the underground town of Neviiria resided, the very town he grew up in, he was overwhelmed with happiness and anger at the same time, this is the place where his childhood was stripped away, thrown in the trash with dozens of other cubs who grew up with him in Neviiria.

That is when he collapsed in exhaustion, he had no control over it, his desire to keep moving finally gave out and he found himself, eyes facing upward, towards the sky with his arms and legs stretched out before him, his staff rolled over to his side and his maw twitching a bit. He shut his eyes just for a few seconds and remembered his times back in Neviiria, back before the Anti-Pokemon war began.

"Oh, hey Kuimon," his little sister, Lina, also an Umbreon, said along with her 2 friends, Jenny the Riolu and Akana the Leafeon, "Do you want to play with us, just for a little bit?" she politely asked.

"No way, I don't want to play "House" with you stupid girls!" was Kuimon's answer, his voice, apparently, greatly different from what his voice was currently. He knew he sounded just like Sparks as a kid.

"You don't really play "House", you play a game of "House"... dummy..." was Lina's response, "I don't care, I don't want to play with you!"

That is when Kuimon's mother entered in the sequence, Taishia, she was a Glaceon with a very mature feminine voice, "Now, now, Kuimon, you should play with your sister and her friends, it would help you two bond with each other."

"But mom..." Kuimon whined.

"Just for a little while Kuimon, it won't hurt..." she responded, gently kissing him on the cheek as she walked back into the small cave-like house inside of the underground town where they lived.

Right then, Kuimon jumped up as he realized he had almost fallen asleep, the last thing he wanted was to wake up in chains.

He got up, picked up his staff off the ground, and finally reached Neviiria with the little energy he had left.

The 2 guards at the entrance, both Scythers, examined him and approved Kuimon to enter the village and as he walked in through the tunnel that lead to the main section of the town, he was amazed to witness that this town has not changed town bit, though there was a drastic increase in Scyther guards, but other than that, it looked just like it did 7 years ago, when Kuimon was 8 years old.

The town was underground, of course, and the houses were made of small tunnels in the large cave, the business was constructed by stands where Pokemon sold berries of all kinds, and certain meats, and of course, the town was not highly populated, maybe 38 pedestrians at maximum.

As Kuimon walked passed a Pecha berry stand, he felt his stomach rumble so he turned back and looked to see what else the storekeeper possessed since he just happened to have 2 Neviiria town coins with him, "Hmm... do you have any Oran Berries?" Kuimon asked, rubbing his chin with his mechanical hands. The storekeeper looked up at Kuimon, a Blaziken was his species, he wiped his forehead and said, "Yeah, but only one branch of it." He pulled up a small vine that had about 8 Oran Berries attached to it.

Which draws us to the background where 2 Scyther guards stared at Kuimon with annoyed expressions, they moved over to him before he was able to take the Oran Berries from the storekeeper's hands and said, "We don't like your kind around here... Umbreon... especially the creepy 'Standing up straight on hind legs' types..." they both stated in unison, making Kuimon stop his reach for the berries and turn around to face them.

"I'm sorry, I'm just here for a few things, I'm not bothering anyone so please, leave me alone." Kuimon responded, trying not to make trouble with these guys. And that is when one of them sliced the branch of Oran berries right out of Kuimon's hands and took it for themselves, "Your offering has been accepted by Makkir, thank you very much..." one of them said as they both walked away, laughing and snorting along the way.

Kuimon just stared at them with no expression on his face, Lord knows what he was thinking, "I am sorry, that was the last branch I had... I hate those guys, Makkir's guards have a completely free control amongst us villagers, they can do whatever they please to us and we can't fight back..." the storekeeper said, "And... I'm really sorry I can't refund those berries you bought... I'm strapped for cash." He apologized.

"It's okay... I'll just be on my way..." Kuimon responded, continuing from where he was moving on to before.

"Aw, wait!" Kuimon heard a very young feminine voice from the background call out, he turned around to find an Espeon standing there before him which deeply reminded Kuimon of his deceased soldier, Emma from the original Elite Force.

"Yes...?" Kuimon responded.

"Please, come with me, you look hungry and I want to help you after those 'thugs' took your food." She gently said, motioning for Kuimon to follow her, "Really, I don't want to be a burden..." was Kuimon's response, "Oh, no, no silly, no burden at all, my mom and dad will surely take care of you, now come on little silly head!" she said with a friendly tone, and so Kuimon followed her to a small house / cave near the other half of the town Kuimon was in.

As they walked near, they saw one Leafeon female and one Flareon male standing there, most likely waiting for the Espeon to come home.

"Where were you Alissia? You know we don't want you wandering the streets so late at night!" the mother scolded, "But mom, I found this Umbreon and the soldiers took his food away from him, we have to help!" was Alissia the Espeon's response.

"Oh, so this... Umbreon who is strangely standing up straight... is your friend?" the father asked.

"Yup!"

"Okay then... any friend of Alissia is welcome here, come on in stranger, I have just finished making dinner" the mother said. Kuimon graciously bowed before them and followed the family inside of their cozy house for dinner.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They were having steak from a Tauros, which sadly, Kuimon did not like, but he had to eat it because these people showed him great kindness and invited him into their home for dinner, he had to eat it or he would feel like a selfish brat.

At the dinner table, which everyone sat up on beanie bags while the table was about 1 foot off the ground, Alissia began to ask Kuimon a bunch of personal questions.

"So... where do you come from...?" she asked, "I was born in this town..." was Kuimon's answer.

"Oh really, how old are you?" the father asked with a deep voice as he ate the steak without his paws, but just dug in with his mouth while Kuimon was eating in proper manners, with a fork and knife which was a wonder why they even had it at their home.

"I'm... 15." Kuimon responded.

"Oh really, you left your home at such an early age, we would never let Alissia leave our home until she is 18, but why did you leave so early?" the mother asked.

"I... kind of don't want to talk about, if you don't mind." Kuimon muttered, "Oh, sorry, sorry, didn't mean to upset you" the mother said with an embarrassed tone of voice.

Bored as hell, Alissia decided to ask Kuimon, "So... what happened to your paws?" which made him almost choke on a piece of Tauros steak that he had just shoved in his mouth, "Now, now, Alissia... it is not polite to ask strangers about their past" the mother calmly said which made Alissia groan a long groan of boredom.

After a few moments, she came out with, "So how can you stand up straight anyways?" and it came out so surprising to Kuimon when he was about to stab his almost half-eaten steak with his fork then somehow accidentally stabbed his mechanical hand with it, of course, not doing any damage to its very powerful structure.

"Alissia!!" the father yelled in a surprised tone of voice, "I am so sorry stranger, she is very nosy and we try to get her out of it..." he apologized.

"No problem, I was like her not too long ago..." Kuimon responded, "...back when I was an actually child..." he continued on but in his thoughts.

"Well, I am going to help stop this war someday; I want to be a hero!" Alissia suddenly said with a confident tone, "I know by that look you are a part of the PDF and I am really inspired by them, they are all heroes! And I am going to start off with that Anriu!" and that sentence made Kuimon's eyes widen in surprise as sweat rolled down his head and onto the table.

"Ugh... the Anriu... I know they are the ones who caused this war, and if we are to somehow defeat them... maybe we could be friends with the humans once again..." the father muttered.

"Nothing but trouble, every single one of them..." the mother continued where everyone left off, leaving Kuimon in silence for her knew that deep within his heart, he did possess the Anriu abilities and that made him a part of the Anriu all together.

"I heard the Anriu used to sneak into homes and abduct Pokemon to turn them into Drones!" Alissia added, but that word triggered something in Kuimon's mind, the word "Abducted".

Kuimon began to remember yet another section of his childhood when the Leafeon mother asked him why he left at such an early age, it was because he was forced, but this had him thinking...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Keep silent everyone..." Kuimon's father, Nintashi the Jolteon, said, "The guards are looking for a Jolteon who stole something from Mikkar's throne and I'm guessing the first Jolteon they see will wrap up the case..."

This was true, if a Crobat were to commit a crime and another Crobat just happened to be in the area, that Crobat would be arrested for said crime, the law enforcement system in this town was just plain horrible.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We are going to bed soon, would you like to use the guest room or are you going to leave?" the mother asked Kuimon as soon as he gulped every last bit of the Tauros steak that was given to him, making a type of soured-up face with every bite, "Um... yes, I'll be glad to stay in your guest room, if it is not too much trouble..." was Kuimon's humble response.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The room the family let Kuimon stay at was moderately comfy, though most homes in this town were usually very uncomfortable to be inside of because the temperature never seemed to be exactly what it needed to be, when it was cold outside, it was cold inside, when it was hot outside, it was hot inside, there was just no winning.

His room had all of the essentials he needed for a good night's sleep, a bed, a lamp which was powered by many energy boxes that were placed around every singe house, and a dresser where he put his vest. He kept his staff near his bed just incase anything were to happen, though he wished he had enough energy to fight Makkir and destroy the Metagross that destroyed his childhood, once and for all, to avenge the suffering of his town for so many years.

He covered his body with the blue blanket that was already set when he walked in the room and shut his eyes, drifting off into a deep sleep instantly.

"...but dad..." Kuimon heard his younger self say as he drifted off into another flashback while he slept, "...it's just not fair... why would they punish you if you were the first Jolteon they find...?"

"Son... I really have no idea, but that is just the hardships we must endure to stay in this town... it is the only home we have" was Kuimon's father's reply as they all wrapped him in a large blanket and hid him in a barrel that used to have Magikarp remains inside of until they dumped it out earlier on.

"Here come the guards... everyone stay quiet" Kuimon's mother whispered as they all huddled up in fear while the marching feet of dozens and dozens of Scyther marched by, advancing at attention.

That is when Kuimon woke up suddenly, his staff mysteriously vanished. He jumped up and looked around to see if there were any clues to who might have done this, it was most likely someone from the family so he stormed out of his room and searched through the small, cave-like hallways until he eventually got to the entrance of the home where the mother and father of Alissia stood in front of a Scyther who was speaking to them incoherently from Kuimon's distance.

He got closer to hear that Alissia had ran away from home with a staff that seemed to have been glowing bioluminescent, that was definitely Kuimon's staff.

That is when the Scyther walked away, leaving the parents to cry in their doorway, then the mother turned around, a devastated look on her Leafeon face, "Oh please... we don't know what to do... Alissia... during the night she escaped from home and attacked a guard with a staff that... we didn't even know she had, please... can you please bring her back... I know we don't know you very much but... but..." then she broke out into tears, they both did while Kuimon crossed his arms over each other and said, "Don't worry... I'll bring her back to you" and with that, he stormed out the door without his vest or a weapon at his side, only having to rely on his normal attacks for if he revealed he had the Anriu powers, he would be shunned from the town by everyone in it.

Deep within the town, near the Town Hall where Makkir resided, is where Alissia was being dragged off to, Kuimon's staff in her paws, 2 Scyther did the deed of taking her away, big smirks on both of their faces, "Hey!" Kuimon yelled which caused the 2 Scyther who dragged Alissia to stop in their tracks and turn to look around to see who had called them out.

"Oh... would you look at this, Jarian" one of the Scythers said.

"Yup... I see it Navan" the other said.

That is when Kuimon realized that these two were the ones who stole his berries from earlier on when he had entered the town, Navan and Jarian were their names apparently.

"I thought you said you weren't going to cause any trouble..." Navan started, both of them dropping Alissia to the ground and roughly ramming their feet into her back, forcing her to stay where she was as she cried in pain and attempted to get free.

"I am here for one reason, to see Makkir fall, and to see this town become a peaceful town like it should have been when I lived in it... so many years ago..." Kuimon responded with a firm tone of voice and an angered look on his face.

"Bleh... Jarian, take care of the lightweight for me, would you?" Navian murmured, "With pleasure..." was Jarian's response as he charged over to Kuimon, both of the blades at his sides ready as he approached with bestial vigor, until Kuimon ducked under his horizontal swing overhead and landed a couple of quick jabs to his stomach and finished with an uppercut to the face which sent Jarian crashing down to the floor with a loud and pain-filled groan.

This caused a small crowd to form, Pokemon muttering and asking each other what was happening as they tried to make themselves scarce, "Heh... looks like this guy is a bit more powerful than I imagined, time to take out the trash!" Navian said with a sinister tone, giving Alissia one kick while she was on the ground until he went charging towards Kuimon, "Look out!" a Mightyena from the crowd yelled with fear in his voice that Navian was going to take Kuimon down.

"No chance..." was Kuimon's response to this as he backed up a little bit, barely dodging the two crossover swings that Navian executed and grabbed the Scyther's head, squeezing it tight with his mechanical hands as Navian screamed in pain, following through with this, and quickly before Navian had a chance to slice Kuimon up into ribbons, he tripped Navian and as soon as he was falling to the ground, Kuimon ended it by slamming his head down to the ground with a much greater speed, knocking Navian out instantly.

Kuimon then stood up straight with a heroic look on his face as he stared off at the town hall as everyone who formed up the crowd began to cheer, "Come on out... Makkir Neviiria, show yourself!" Kuimon yelled, causing all of the cheering Pokemon to cease their cheers abruptly.

Then, out came a Metagross with an angered look on his crystal-like face, as he stepped out with his 4 enormous legs which made him look like a flying saucer using a certain device to land it.

"Kuimon Toshiro... is that really you?" he asked, Alissia on the ground whimpering and crying out of the pain the two Scythers gave her, "You are damn right it's me, now I'm going to do something I should have done all of those years ago... when you falsely executed my mother and father!" Kuimon yelled as he grabbed his staff while Alissia's parents came out of nowhere and took her out of the duel area, "Oh... thank you stranger!" the mother thanked Kuimon as they got out of the way with the rest of the still-forming crowd with Alissia in great pain.

"I should have known you would come back... you little brat, now prepare to face justice from violating the town's must-follow law... never engage in combat with a guard of this town!" Makkir yelled as he prepared to use Bullet Punch on Kuimon who stood at attention with his staff at hand. All of Makkir's boulder-like arms began to glow a fiery red as he hovered towards Kuimon at a great speed, spinning around constantly like a top.

Missing his first strike, he completely changed course all of a sudden, just barely making contact with Kuimon who ducked under the second strike and got out of the way. That is when Makkirr stopped, hitting the ground with a loud BANG, then he said, "You know... I actually liked Nintashi until he committed that crime so long ago..."

"You falsely accused him, Makkir, you had no proof!" Kuimon responded with rage, his teeth grinding against each other and his nose scrunching up he frowned.

"Too bad..." was Makkir's response as he charged up a Meteor Mash attack and hovered towards Kuimon once again, "Damn it, I'm nothing without Darkline or any Anriu attacks..." Kuimon thought, trying to figure out a way to beat Makkir, "I have no Umbreon attacks..."

But before Kuimon could get out of the way, the Meteor Mash rammed right into his stomach, he let out a loud groan as pain grew all around his body, this was definitely a devastating strike Makkir forced on Kuimon. The entire crowd gasped as Kuimon finally hit the ground, his head slamming against the hard dirt surface as blood flew right out of his mouth and onto his chest. It was a shame he did not carry his vest with him or this blow's damage would have most likely been cut in half.

But as Kuimon's head slammed against the ground, he was forced into a flashback, back when his entire life went to hell. He saw his father being dragged away by the Scyther who had searched their house and found him, "No, please, please don't take our father away!" Lina screamed, "Nintashi!" Kuimon's mother yelled as she bit the Scyther on the neck, causing him to scream in pain and slice right threw her Glaceon body.

This is when Kuimon's world began to tear apart at the seems, he could only watch as his mother fell to the ground with bodily fluids pouring out of her body and spilling all over the floor, he was traumatized, he had no idea what was happening but all he knew is that his mother had just died.

"Taishia, no, no, no!!" Nintashi yelled in anger as he began to squirm around in the Scyther's grip as a Metagross came to the door, it was Makkir along with 5 other Scyther guards who witnessed all of this happening, "Guard, you have permission to take down a culprit who resists, I suggest you do that..." he ordered, the Scyther then kicked Kuimon's father away from him, far away, back against the wall where the Scyther stabbed both of his blade-like arms right into the Jolteon's stomach, "Kuimon, Lina!" Nintashi screamed as both of his children stay there, paralyzed in fear, "Please... no matter how much things change in your lives... promise me that you will not forget your title, your honor, your families, don't forget who you are!!" and with that, he passed away with his eyes wide open while blood dripped from his mouth, "Father-r-r-r-r!" Kuimon finally screamed as the Scyther gave out a small chuckle, "Yeah kid, I recommend you bury your parents outside, you wouldn't want their bodies stinking up your houses, would you?" he cruelly said as he and the Metagross left along with the 5 other guards, both laughing at Kuimon and Lina who sat there, crying their hearts out at their dead parents...

"Get up, Umbreon!" Kuimon heard a Pokemon's voice yell as Makkir slowly approached his fallen over body. Kuimon opened his eyes, but then shut them once again from the pain originating from his stomach, "Please stranger, get up!" he heard Alissia's mother yell from the crowd. And that is when Makkir's levitating body hovered right over Kuimon, "Say hello to mommy and daddy for me..." he sinisterly whispered as he prepared another Meteor Mash right over Kuimon's body.

"Don't forget who you are!!" Kuimon's father's words raced through his mind suddenly, then, with so much pain in his heart, Kuimon's eyes opened with the Anriu insignia right in the pupils as he jumped up and used Fireline from right under Makkir's body, exploding right in both of their faces.

Everyone gasped as flame rose from the explosion site, and that is when Kuimon rose from the flaming ground, the yellow rings that surrounded his Umbreon body suddenly turned dark red as a black and red essence rose with him, the 8 Eyes of the Anriu surrounding his entire body, even on his mechanical hands. He looked up at Mikkar who was still trying to recover from the sudden Fireline attack, but without any more hope for survival, he looked up to see Kuimon pointing his hands at him, a red line coming out as sparks popped, then they exploded, completely destroying Mikkar Neviira.

This left the crowd in fear as one of them yelled out, "Who are you?!"

"I am Kuimon Toshiro... the Anriu Deserter!" he responded, twirling around his staff and ramming it on the ground with no expression on his face as his Anriu ability wore off, the black and red fur that he has received turned returned to its normal color with the rings turning back to yellow.

"You're a liar!" a male Absol yelled out of nowhere, "You are no Deserter, you are just a thief who stole the Anriu powers to become powerful yourself!" Kuimon looked over at the Absol with an angered expression, making him shut up before he really made Kuimon angry, "Finally... I have regained my lost honor..." Kuimon whispered as he walked over to Alissia and her family just to say, "I am honored you would let me stay at your home..." he said as he bowed to them.

"Get out of here, just go, you are an enemy to us if you are with the Anriu!" the father yelled.

"Please, have mercy, I only wish to..."

"Get out of here, I hate you!!" Alissia yelled as she was being comforted by her mother from the pain she had received. She interrupted Kuimon and caused an emotional reaction within his mind, it was like losing Emma all over again for some reason, it is just how he felt when he was informed his entire squad had died in Nightraven Labs.

"You may have rid us from the Tyrant who controlled us... but that makes you no hero, your people are still causing destruction in the world, and for that we will never forgive you!" the mother yelled, spitting in Kuimon's direction.

"Fine..." Kuimon whispered.

With a broken heart, Kuimon turned around and started walking to the exit, but turned around once he got outside where it suddenly began raining, "I am on your side, and if you do not believe me... then this town was not worth saving in the first place!" he yelled as he stormed out with only his staff, leaving his vest behind as he began his journey back to Miir Cyraa in the raining weather... full of hate and sadness...
