Taboo Affections by sjfan

Hide and seek

"Erm, Seth?"

I awoke to a paw gently shaking me, attempting to wake me up. I let out a small groan as I opened my eyes to an odd sight. While I slept, my arm decided to rest itself on her, and it now seemed I was spooning her. She was merely uncomfortable, not angry at all thankfully, but she did have a heavy blush on her cheeks. "Opps." Was the only thing I could manage as I quickly released her. "Sorry..."I apologized, also with a small blush. I never did sleep in one position; I would always usually toss and turn. Though I never ever had any odd movements from my arm.

What was odd was how anxious I felt around her. It wasn't the fact she was being targeted, but something nagging in the back of my head kept making me feel oddly self conscious. The fact she still didn't trust me that much didn't help to how I felt, it surprisingly depressed me. I sighed as I got up and went to the bathroom to shower. I looked back at her to see what she was going to do while I left the room, and I had to suppress a laugh. She was curiously poking the button for the alarm in my room, and she managed to set it off. She had to have jumped a foot in the air at least. I chuckled at this before going to the bathroom.

As I got into the shower, all I could think about was her and strange this was. The day I get the urge to take the day off is the day I happened to meet her. If I hadn't decided to go out then, I would have never seen her, and that animal could have injured her. That thought sent a strong sense of worry, which to me then made no sense. I may have been a very caring person who never wanted to see anyone in pain, but this level of distress was very strange. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts, at that time I merely thought it was because of how many people wanted to hurt her for no good reason.

I got out and got dressed in the bathroom; since I had a guest I figured it'd be best to not even be partially nude. I decided to wear a very simple t-shirt and blue jeans, then I went back into the room where I noticed her relaxing on the bed. I knocked lightly, as to not surprise her. She looked up and surprisingly smiled, and I couldn't help but smile back. "Hey, you hungry?"

And at that moment I was answered by her stomach growling which caused her to blush "Yeah.."

I chuckled "Want anything specific?"

Her expression became slightly darker, but not that much so it was very noticeable "Honestly, I'm happy that I'm being fed."

"Ah..." I had no idea what sort of pain she suffered, but I didn't bring it up anymore. I had no right to pry or bring back those painful memories. I walked out of the room, motioning her to follow me. I decided I'd see if she would like cereal. I grabbed a random box, and a random dish and a jug of milk, fixing it. She stared at me the whole time, wondering what I was making. I happily set the bowl in front of her, curious to see if she would like it. Actually expecting it, she picked it up and drank it pretty much. I chuckled before walking out of the kitchen.

That whole time, my job never crossed my mind, until I received a phone call. I went and answered it to find something that scared me. "Our boss was attacked by some weird Pokémon; he kept asking where you lived. You might want to go somewhere safe!" I stopped for a moment, how did they know she was with me? More importantly, if they saw me with her, which was the only way to know, they know I walked into my house.

"Layla, they know you're with me, how?" I asked quickly.

She looked like she would pass out "Mew-two's working for them?"

"Mew-two?" I had never heard of this thing.

"He's a psychic, a very strong one...With his power, even my amulet can be rendered useless soon."

"What amulet?" I was getting confused; she had never even mentioned anything like this.

"It's a necklace thin enough to be hidden in my fur, and the amulet is...Well..."She couldn't finish as her face was covered in a very deep blush. It took me a few seconds to realize where she hid it. I hadn't known it, but her breasts, even though they were mostly covered by fur, I could tell they were big enough to hide an object.

"What does it do?" I asked, my face nearly as red as hers.

"It basically prevents psychics from knowing where I am. But with Mew-two...I can't be sure."

"Why are you so sure it's Mew-two?"

"This amulet is very strong. Very, very strong. The only psychic who could even remotely get past it would be him. The most he could probably do is sense the town I'm in."

"How does he know I'm with you then, and since I don't have an amulet, how does he not where I am?" This was getting more and more confusing.

"The amulet doesn't just protect the one wearing it; it protects anyone that's near the person. He can barely sense us, but he can tell who we are."

This wasn't good at all "Listen, I got a call, he knows where we are, and we have to head out."

This news made her shiver, but she nodded and replied "Alright." I only grabbed some clothes before dashing out and running towards Dante's house.

We arrived in the evening, it was a good 10 miles, but we took several breaks. Both me and Layla were exhausted when we arrived, but at least we didn't encounter any trouble. Layla gasped when she noticed his home, or more specifically mansion. The exterior was a simple bright white color, and 3 floors. One the first level was a long large window that nearly took up half the front. The second had 2 small windows, each on the far sides. On the third, the whole wall was a window. Dante and his family always wanted to live in a mansion, but his parents never could afford it. He told me that whenever he became famous in the research community, the first thing he did was buy a mansion. Then the next day he learned both his parents had died. When Dante answered, he was surprised "Seth? What's wrong?"

"A Pokémon found out where we lived, could we please stay here for awhile?"

"A Pokémon has you this scared?" He was confused, Layla was a Lucario, she should have enough power for most Pokémon.

"It's Mew-Two." Layla chimed in, her voice week. Dante went pale at this.

"Come on, get in." He said, voice empty from shock. We quickly went in, as Layla began telling him not to worry and explaining her amulet.

I looked around, marveling at the expensive items and the gigantic room. The whole room was white, except for the wooden floor. Thought I noticed something "Hey, where's Sin?"

Dante's blushed slightly "Erm, resting."

"At this hour?" It was nearly 8 pm then.

"Well...he exercised a lot in the last 2 hours." He looked away his face red now.

"Ah..." Well, I knew then, so I decided to drop the subject and play dumb. Layla, was dense, but didn't say anything. "Wait, Layla, won't they be targeted too?"

"No. When I, Sin, Ezra, and Ida were turned into immortals, our presence can no longer be detected. Besides, we are strong enough to take care of ourselves." He shrugged, saying it like it was nothing unusual.

"Immortal?" That was the minute I got a headache. Then again, I saw a legendary as a kid, and those are just, obviously put, legends. So I guessed that the concept of immortality wasn't that...odd.

"Long, sad story. I'll tell you whenever this is resolved." Dante smiled.

"How long was I out, love?" Sin came from his room, yawning and then stretching.

"A good hour." Dante chuckled as Sin walked into the room, watching his very tired, uncoordinated walk.

"I think you can never be satisfied if you take this much energy out of me." Sin smiled "The only reason we stopped was because I passed out."

"Did I mention Seth and someone else was here?" Dante said, not really feeling too embarrassed.

"Ah, opps." Sin blushed and itched his head feeling rather idiotic for saying this and not noticing us. We were equally embarrassed to hear that, our cheeks both pink. Sin looked up then, and his happy expression turned to a confused one when he caught sight of Layla. Layla tensed up as Sin focused on her. "You seem very familiar." He noted out loud. He then gasped as he saw her eyes. I hadn't noticed until then, her eyes were a very bright blue. "The cursed one..." He muttered under his breathe.

I got up defensively, wondering if he would hurt her. Dante seemed surprised, but was amazingly calm. Sin looked over to his lover with fearful eyes and that's when Dante became worried "What's wrong Sin?"

"I never thought I'd see her. I'm honestly terrified..."

"Why?" I asked now, very confused.

"If I had to put it in the simplest words, she basically has the potential to be a god, and the power to do whatever she wants..." Alright then, all my friends were immortal, and Layla was a god. Sure, perfect sense. Looking at her, she just seemed like a fragile Lucario, and she seemed to be as unbelieving as me.

"Will you make us leave?" She asked weakly.

"Of course not, this is more reason for us to protect you." She smiled then and looked happily back at me.

"Alright, we should get some rest now." Sin said looking at the clock. Before they could move, the phone rang. Since I was closest, I grabbed it.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Seth!?" It was Ezra, and he sounded surprised and relieved "Oh thank god, I thought you were dead!" I had been in contact with Ezra a lot recently, being around him and Ida just made you smile. Any time they looked at each other, you could feel the love in their gaze. Besides visiting them, I was in comatose mode the last 2 years.

"Dead? No, I'm fine, why, what happened?" I was very confused.

"Your house was completely destroyed Seth, I was calling Dante to ask if he knew." So, my home, which I still hadn't paid off, was destroyed. Joy, oh joy, my life was buckets of fun then. So, to keep myself somewhat together, I sat down. Sin and Dante seemed to know what happened, but decided to leave me be.

"You know where the guest room is," Dante said, leaving me be "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Alright" I sighed, my voice rather weak and tired. He nodded and left with Sin, and Layla stayed behind. Layla hesitated, unsure of what to do before she embraced me

"I'm so sorry for everything that's happening." She sighed, her voice nearly cracking "It's all my fault..."

I was surprised, and all I could think to do was hold her as well and reassure her "No, I could never blame you for this. You're the victim, and I could never abandon you."

She pulled away; a deep sympathy festered in her beautiful blue eyes. God, I had never noticed how beautiful she was. She had been so hurt and had been so scared, yet she still cared about me, even now. I had never thought kindness to still exist, Dante and Ezra the only exceptions. My world had been tainted by sameness, and that gut feeling to take the day off opened up a whole new world to me. It was all thanks to her. Before I could stop myself, I locked lips with her.

I don't believe I have ever enjoyed a kiss as much as I did then, and until then, I had never known what bliss could be described as. She was, at first shocked, but surprisingly joined me. God, the way she tasted, her scent, her body, everything about her made me want to reach out and never let go of her. It seemed like forever before I pulled away, both of us looking away.

At that moment, I had no idea what I was feeling. It felt so strange, like butterflies in my stomach. Was it love? Or was it just a simple crush? I looked over at her, seeing her deep thought. She wasn't sure either I guessed. "I guess you'll want to sleep alone tonight?" I broke the silence and got up to show her to the guest room. When we reached the first one, I began walking to the couch, she grabbed my arm.

"Please, no, stay with me." She nearly begged me. Surprise flickered across my face, but it went away with a smile.

"Alright." That night was one of the best I had in a long time.
