The encounter
Dante: I'll get more funding after this right?
Ezra: So, I'm supposed to ask him questions?
Dante:*Confused* How did they convince you to be here?
Ezra: ...
Dante: They offered you cherries, didn't they?
Ezra: Never mind that, on to the questions! First off, what is Sin? It wasn't mentioned in this story.
Dante: Sin's a Lucario, if you bothered to read Forbidden Fruits.
Ezra: Ah. The next one is...Do Pokémon have heats? *Blushes heavily*
Dante: Well, besides the Dragon types and Humanoid types, yes. *Chuckles*though at times, Sin certainly can seem to be in heat.
Ezra: ...You really need to learn to be discreet, especially around the audience...
Dante: You are aware that we're on a Pokeporn website?
Ezra: ...
Dante: Besides that, the lazy bastard of an author, or clever if you overanalyze it, only describes Ida, as she hasn't been described in any other story.
Ezra: Well, we hope you enjoy (We aren't masochistic enough to enjoy it ourselves)
I awoke right after Dante and Sin. That morning they simply said they needed to go get some groceries, and that they'd be back soon. So I decided to wake Layla, since she was still asleep at it was nearing 11 am. She had slept very peacefully that night; the same odd purr was more audible though. I don't think I've ever been more hesitant to wake someone up before.
After watching for a good ten minutes, I walked over to her and gently nudged her. Her purring stopped, and her eyes tightened, before opening slowly "Have a good night?" I asked with a small smile.
"Oddly enough. Did you?" She asked, very sincerely.
"I did." In fact, besides everything that happened to me yesterday, that kiss made it turn into one of the best nights of my life. I was really unsure of myself then. I knew that I was feeling something besides friendship, but I actually never thought it would happen with a Pokémon. I certainly wasn't against the Idea, but it was just abit...odd to me. Then again, when I thought of Ezra and Ida, there was nothing odd about that. "Damn society is getting to me." I thought to myself.
We both passed breakfast without incident, I had a bagel and I made her a bowl of cereal. I smiled as I watched her eat; she seemed gorgeous with every move, no matter what she did. I had no idea what she was feeling, and it irked me. She showed no hostility or anger now, but she seemed to always be hesitant when looking at me. I didn't mind that specifically, I expected it after my random decision to kiss her.
My thoughts were interrupted by a very odd chill down my spine. The type you get whenever the wind blows cold for some reason. I looked around, expecting to see a window open or a fan. There was nothing. That was certainly odd, but soon after that, I heard a deafening crash. Alarmed, I ran towards the place I thought it had happened. My blood ran cold as I entered the living room.
The front glass doors had been shattered, and right at the entrance stood a Pokémon I had never seen before. The vibes it gave off showed a murderous intent, and its eyes were cold and unforgiving, he was a soulless killer. Then I was confused, how did it know where we were, and why was it here? All my thoughts were cleared as Layla, who had followed me, gasped "Mew-two."
At that moment, the fear was gone.
The confusion was gone.
The emotion that took its place was much more potent. Rage. Pure, unadulterated fury was all that I felt. This creature was the one who had dared to hunt after Layla!? The only thing I wanted at that moment was to rip that bastard's throat out. A low inhuman growl emanated from my chest, and all the creature did was raise an eyebrow. "Interesting, a human who's stupid enough to threaten me. I would be interested, except for the fact I'm only here for her."
Layla's POV:
My heart stopped as I saw what I had been scared of my entire life. Mew-two was standing a scarce 3 meters from me. I stared into his cold eyes that were sending the very clear message, "You will die."
I couldn't find fear for myself however. I may have feared this happening every day of my life, dying, yet I still couldn't. I was only worried about Seth. He had been attempting to protect me this entire time, and so far he seemed to care for me far beyond what anyone else had. Then that kiss, it awoke something I didn't think I would ever feel. I loved him, more than I ever had anyone else. Instead of tossing me out, he took me in. When he learned about me, he didn't attack me or abandon me, he swore to protect me. Even now, against something that could kill him, he didn't run, he stood beside me. I turned my head, to see how he was handling this. I wish I hadn't.
What stood there wasn't Seth; it had to be a demon. His eyes were full of a rage that was pure as sunshine. His eyes showed that he was going to attempt to rip Mew-two apart, and make him feel it. What was the most terrifying growl coming from Seth, it wasn't like a humans. It was animalistic, feral. I didn't like this Seth; it scared me to the very fabric of my soul.
That's when Seth ran towards Mew-two with blind hate. I tried to scream for him to stop, but nothing came out. I tried to find out where my voice was, more importantly I tried to find the words. Mew-two could kill Seth with a thought. I was so scared, I didn't want Seth to die, he couldn't die. When Mew-two raised his hand, a small scream escaped me. Seth stopped moving, and Mew-two went over and observed him carefully. "Why defend her?" He asked, but only got the same noise from Seth. He sighed and tossed Seth into the wall, knocking him out. "Annoying pest."
I managed to scream Seth's name, which got me an interesting look from Mew-two. "Don't worry; he's fine, just knocked him out. You, on the other hand, will not simply be knocked out. Honestly right now I'm surprised at how lucky this is. No one whose mind I checked with knew where Ezra was, so I went with the lead of Dante. I'm surprised an immortal is sheltering you, especially one who is mates with a Pokémon. I was sure you would be killed by them! Sadly, I still had to come didn't I?"
"How?" I still couldn't manage much.
He tapped his head "Seth was granted access to Dante's files, and has also give one or two loans to Seth. Phone logs also helped. All suggested a bond of some sort." He slowly began walking towards me.
"G-get away." I stuttered. His cold gaze bore into me, before walking even closer to me. I tried to move, but either fear or his powers kept me in place. God, I felt so defenseless, so weak, so scared. I'd been left to die several times, but this time there was no hope. At least Seth would survive, I assured myself with that information. I remember the times when I had nearly been killed, the stray Pokémon who cut me and beat me. The family who shunned me didn't care either; they just put on the show to pretend that they weren't evil.
He grabbed me by the throat and picked me up. God it was painful, I could barely breathe. I closed my eyes, not wanting to see how he was going to kill me. I felt a sudden movement, which caused me to jerk my eyes open in surprise. Mew-two was suddenly holding the back of his head growling. I was confused, what happened? My question was answered as he looked back with that glare again. The growl increased as he saw Sin "Immortal..."
"I pegged you smarter Mew-two. Besides the fact this is my home, and I'm immortal, I can sense Aura. Does attacking someone here really make sense?" Sin growled, his eyes dark as Mew-two's. Mew-two sighed and teleported. Dante rushed in then, quickly telling Sin to call Ezra and Ida. Sin nearly disappeared to the phone, while Dante helped Ezra up. I was overcome with relief, before I feel to my knees, letting myself get rid of all that panic and pain.
___________
I cursed at myself as Dante helped me up. I wasn't able to protect her, something that made me feel weak. Mew-two may have been strong, but the final fact was that I couldn't do a damn thing. I clenched my fists, before I heard the sound. I had no idea what it was or where it came from, until my eyes searched for Layla. She was on the ground, sobbing, tears flowing down her cheeks like a stream. My chest tightened as I walked over and gathered her in my arms. I cradled her to my chest, to which she clung. So, I failed her. I couldn't protect her, and one second later she would have died. Yes, I knew that I really shouldn't expect myself to protect her from a force like him, yet I couldn't bring myself to say it wasn't my fault.
I looked over to Dante for a moment, he looked as if he was going to ask if he should try to carry her, like he was worried about my back after being slammed into the wall. I thought carefully about that, and only then I noticed my back was aching horribly. I could have cared less though, she needed me, and so I thought I could bare it for a little bit. I walked into the adjacent room, which was the living room. I sat down on the couch, positioning her so she wouldn't be uncomfortable. She sat in my laps, her chest shaking with small tired sobs. Her tears were still flowing, though weaker. I guess me being near her calmed her somewhat.
Dante walked by and I remembered what I heard him ask Sin to do "Why did you tell him to call Ezra and Ida?"
Dante sighed "I had no idea of how smart and cautious Mew-two would be. For now, I'm calling them for backup. A watch doesn't seem like too much right now." He cast a meaningful glance to Layla, who was quieting down then. We stayed silent then, and though Layla was still crying, I couldn't think of anything to say. I couldn't say "It'll be alright." No, that promise had been broken already. I couldn't bring myself to stay silent either. So the only thing I could say was "I'm so sorry."
Layla stopped then, she looked up at me, mixed emotions evident. She seemed surprised, scared, worried, sadness, and the most potent, remorse. "You couldn't have done anything..."She whispered "and none of it was you're fault."
I was silent then, she was forgiving me when she was this broken up? "I couldn't do anything to protect you...I was weak, and all I could do was lie there! "
She was quiet too "Mew-two's one of the most powerful Pokémon in existence, I can't expect you to be able to defend me." Those words did soothe me, however I still felt guilt.
Ezra and Ida eventually arrived, but rather quietly. They shuffled in, Ida having a worried expression on her face, and she seemed focused on Layla curiously for a few moments. Layla was still resting against my chest, awake, but exhausted. I was tired too, but I decided to stay awake for whatever was going to happen. Dante wasn't in the room anymore, and Sin was just fidgeting around, waiting for him to return. Whenever Ezra and Ida did arrive, I managed a very weak "Hi."
I looked over at Ida, who was a Zangoose. She was an innocent thing, 5 feet with bright eyes. She always stayed close or held onto Ezra, and she always kept the same light smile on her face. Her body was interesting; it closely resembled a human female more than the typical round belly. Though I knew she was an immortal, from Dante, I wasn't assured. I wasn't the only one; Ezra was watching Dante and Ida, worried expression stuck on his face. Ida seemed rather carefree, except for the occasional glances at Layla.
Layla was actually beginning to doze off, which provided a relief from all this tension. I could feel her purr slightly vibrating her and me. I couldn't help but smile, which got me a very interesting look from Ida. It was happy, slightly amused at something. Ezra was curious, but he didn't say anything. We all stayed silent, me, because I didn't want to wake Layla, Ezra and Ida just waited for Dante, and also seeming to just stare in each others eyes for quite awhile. They did that often, just sitting together and locking gazes. They were on the same couch as us, though it was large so it didn't cause any problems. Sin was deep in thought, though I had no idea what it was about, I presumed it involved Mew-two in some way or another.
It was late when Dante walked in, his expression grim. Sin immediately got out of his thoughts and looked up at Dante with a sad expression after seeing his. "What's wrong?" Sin asked.
"An informant died. All he got to me was a message saying that Mew-two and a few other Pokémon were meeting. They were legendaries and extremely strong others." He whispered weakly before sitting on the loveseat with Sin. Sin merely placed his paw against Dante, which at least got a weak smile to appear.
"I'm so sorry." Layla broke the extremely tense silence. "I'm getting you all involved in something that I should be fighting myself." And that you'd be killed by otherwise.
Ida frowned and told her in a very soothing, angelic voice "Sweetie, we could never let you get hurt by something like this. There's no way we could let you get in harms way." Something in her voice said there was another reason, but I just ignored it, letting myself assume it was my imagination.
"We best go to sleep. Who's on watch first?" Ezra asked, finally speaking. It was getting rather late then.
"It's a good idea, Ida and you will be first." Dante told them. She merely smiled and got up, which everyone began to follow. Layla and I both got up, but Ida quickly stopped her and whispered something in her ear. Layla blushed and her eyes grew wide in surprise. Ida merely smiled and followed us, Ezra following right next to her. They stopped right outside our door, we said goodnight before going into the room. As I reached the bed, Layla stopped me. I was confused, but we both sat down on the side of the bed.
Her expression was one of indecision and anxiety. She looked like she might run for the door, but I didn't say anything. She finally turned and held my face, her paw touching my right cheek. She closed her eyes, looking like she was gathering courage. Then my heart stopped, as she leaned forward and locked her lips with mine.
This kiss threw me off, I never really expected this! Still, I enjoyed it much more than I thought possible. Her lips sucked and teased mine, the kiss not going as deep as I had hoped it would. She sighed contently before pulling away. "Seth...I love you." She managed. My heart soared at those words. They brought such a joy I had to hold back the urge to laugh. Now how would I respond...Well, what was possible to say? I loved her too; there was no second guessing this feeling anymore. The 3 sacred words that came out of her mouth could not be matched; all I could do was reply simply.
"I love you too..." That's all I could say as I reached out to hold her. That moment didn't go as beautifully as I imagined, still, with all this going on, the fact she loved me as well made me want to keep going. I had no idea how, but I wouldn't let her die. We eventually laid together, she began purring, lulling us both to sleep.Chapter End Notes:I really feel as if I rushed the ending...Gah, if no one complains I'm happy...But Seth will probably give me a mental glare for not fixing it
