Story Notes:

Oh and thank you for 10000 views. Wish I could do something special...Oh wait, I did. New goal: 20000(on top 10s!)(Man the competition is fierce.)I'm a writer. I tried writing on fur affinity, but the server there has crashed and no one has seriously commented on my stories. I'm hoping for some comments on this new story which I am releasing here first. Axe that, only here. Especially since I'm so close to getting on the top ten for most words(about 20000 more) and potentially most reads(more then 5000 now) I'll put the general disclaimer here. All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures inc, and Pokemon. The original characters and plot are the property of me. I am in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of Pokemon. No copyright infringement is intended. If you are offended by anything in this story, then you have a serious problem being offended by something no one force you to read but I don't care enough so don't complain to me if you end up offended.

Chapter 3 Generics get even more predictable!

"Well I give up!" Mech announced slumping down on the bench conveniently next to him. He was exhausted from walking around the city all day. Plus hearing all the people talking and all the pokémon talking really made conversation a confused mess. He was glad the sun was going down and people were going home.
"Who knew it would be so hard to find information in such a small city?" San wondered, hopping up on the bench next to him. "So now what?"
"Well I can see only two options. The sensible option and the lazy option."
"Hmm. What are they?"
"Well the sensible one is to continue searching. The lazy one is to wait here for a convenient plot device to come alone and help us for no good reason."
"What do you mean by-" San started but was interrupted by a man with grey very grey hair in a lab coat walking over.
"Sorry I couldn't help but notice you are carrying on a conversation with a pokémon like it was a native language to you. As you can see I'm a pokémon researcher and your fluency in such a difficult to learn tongue would be an invaluable asset in my research." The man said.
"Oh. That's what you mean." San finished. Mech chuckled a little before addressing the man.
"What would that entail?"
"I have a lot of duties as a researcher. Maybe you could help me write a pokémon translation program for my invention the pokédex."
"Great, but I don't actually translate pokéspeak, it just all sort of sounds like English to me." Mech answered "Maybe that's what that weirdo meant by 'a few bonuses'" he thought to himself.
"I don't think I'll understand how that works, but anyway, there is another project you can help with. It's my brainchild, the pokédex. You see my dream is to create an encyclopedia of all the pokémon in the world and your unique ability can help get better entries. Sure I have a lot filled but just basic information and your ability can get that and make it the ultimate guide to pokémon. I'm sure it won't be too much trouble while your on your journey."
"I'm not really on a journey right now."
"You're not?" asked the man "Well you look like it with the backpack, and the Larvitar you look like a trainer."
"Well I'm not; the Larvitar isn't even technically mine."
"Are you borrowing it from a friend?" asked the man.
"IT!?" interjected San but no the man didn't understand the "Tar!?"
"Her name is San and I meet her a few hours ago in the forest."
"It" he started but stopped when San glared at him "She is wild?" the man was shocked at this.
"Well I don't have a way to catch her, the funds to get a way, or a real need to."
"If you take the job I can fund you all the way!" the man said.
"I would but I'm trying to get home."
"Well where do you live?" the man asked
"In relation to here, I have no clue. I could say the name but you wouldn't know it. I'm from, let's say, very far away." Mech answered
"Then how do you plan to get there without any money?"
"Find the guy or whatever it was, and make him bring me home."
"You were kidnapped?" the man sounded genuinely worried.
"Sort of."
"But surely I would know of the place your from."
"No, it's hard to explain. What do you think San?" he asked, sensing without realizing it that she felt very annoyed at being left out of the conversation.
"It might be fun joining up and taking on foes. You don't know where the guy is that brought you here, so you might as well use this jerks money to pay for us to get around and find him. Doing that off the fat of the land isn't easy even for me and I can live off eating rocks!"
"You have a point there. Also, rocks? Wouldn't that hurt your teeth?"
"No, I'm a rock type remember? I'm basically rock myself."
"Can't argue with that logic. Alright sir, I'll take the job." He announced.
"Excellent!" cheered the old man "And call me Professor Oak."
"Okay Professor, we have to get me BACK to the future!" Mech shouted, then immediately laughing at the joke.
"I don't get it." Said the other two almost simultaneously.
"I guess it's a very private joke." Mech sighed, dejected.
"Let's go to my house, I have the equipment you'll need there."
"I knew the lazy option would work out." Mech commented as the walked through the streets.
"Huh?" asked Prof Oak slightly confused
"Nothing. Say, where are we anyway?" Mech asked.
"You didn't read the sign? Its Eterna City." Prof Oak replied
