Story Notes:

Oh and thank you for 10000 views. Wish I could do something special...Oh wait, I did. New goal: 20000(on top 10s!)(Man the competition is fierce.)I'm a writer. I tried writing on fur affinity, but the server there has crashed and no one has seriously commented on my stories. I'm hoping for some comments on this new story which I am releasing here first. Axe that, only here. Especially since I'm so close to getting on the top ten for most words(about 20000 more) and potentially most reads(more then 5000 now) I'll put the general disclaimer here. All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures inc, and Pokemon. The original characters and plot are the property of me. I am in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of Pokemon. No copyright infringement is intended. If you are offended by anything in this story, then you have a serious problem being offended by something no one force you to read but I don't care enough so don't complain to me if you end up offended.

Chapter 5 The chapter of half pointless text and some important parts.

Mech was very confused. He was dreaming, he was sure, but it didn't seem like his own. He was sort of floating there watching something that looked like San walk around on a mountainside. It couldn't be San because it was much bigger and had spikes everywhere. The only two similarities was the rock like skin and the diamond pattern. He wanted to get closer, but something disrupted the dream and the mountainside blurred before fading away. Suddenly he woke up and heard the source; someone was knocking on the door.
"Coming." He mumbled as he forced himself to get up and trudge over too the door. He opened it with a strained "Hello?"
"Hello Mech!" greeted a cheery Prof Oak "I'm sorry if I woke you up, but I forgot to mention something yesterday. Also something just came up and I need you to deliver a package to my friend Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town. I'm asking you to do it because the best place for a trainer to start is in that area. Plus Roark the first gym leader is in Oreburgh City nearby. The map is helpful in that all the red cities on the mainland on the map have gyms in them except for Jubilife. Well I best be off, have to catch the train to Johto. Don't forget to send a report soon!" With that he left after handing Mech a small package. Mech walked over to the bed and left the package on the floor next to his pack. He sat down on the bed, but realizing he wouldn't get back to sleep, he pulled out the pokédex.
"What was that all about?" asked San sleepily.
"I take it you're not a morning person either. That was Oak with a lame task, though he suggested we start near some place called Sandgem. He said something about gyms. I'm looking it up on the dex thing." Mech replied unfolding the device.
"Oh. Jerk, I was having a great dream" She complained "I'm going back to sleep. Wake me up later."
"Will do." Mech said searching for the pokédex's on switch. After a moment it started and a voice started playing.
"Hello, this is the pokédex 4.1. If you would like a tutorial in the applications press the "A" button. If you would like to do so later press the "B" button." At this point Mech noticed it looked like a handheld video game system. He pressed the button and started the intro. "Now the pokédex is a very easy device to use. Press on the application to get a tutorial on that option." Mech read the options; Pokémon list, Team info, Trainer Status, General Info. He thought about it and clicked the General Info tab. The voice stated "Here you can find information not covered in the other sections. To find what you need simply scroll down and tap on what you need to know."
Mech found the Gym Leader tab and pressed it. The voice read the contents of the page "In Sinnoh as with the other regions, there are eight gym leaders. In order to compete in the pokémon league a trainer must receive a badge from each of the leaders by defeating them. Each gym has unique rules and pokémon. To get information on the gym leaders go to the gym and inquire there as they change to frequently that any information quickly becomes old and inaccurate." The voice stopped and Mech clicked the back buttons until he got to the main menu. He glanced over at San to see she was asleep so he tried out the Team info. The voice piped up "Here you can check your pokémon's status, health, stats, and attacks. To check them select the pokémon" Mech did this on San. He read over the information and memorized the attacks.
Eventually he began to get hungry and woke San up.
"Ugh. What time is it?" she asked.
"I don't know, I don't have a watch, but I'm getting hungry and surely you are too."
"Yeah, lets go." San agreed. Mech packed everything and they walked up to the front desk.
"Hello." Said the nurse on duty. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Yeah, do you know a place to get food?"
"Sure I can show you on the town map over here." She pointed to a few places on the map and after that Mech and San left the center.

After a good meal and a stop at the supply shop the pair walked out of the town heading west to the forest. Not the forest they had meet in which was to the south, but another the map identified as "Eterna Forest". They were walking when some random kid with a straw hat and a butterfly net walked over.
"Hey, you're a trainer! In that case, I challenge you to a battle!" the kid said, pulling out a pokéball and juggling it in one hand. "You seem like a rookie so you should know you can't back down from a challenge."
"Fine then, San go get him!" Mech ordered. "Good luck!"
"You're up Burmy!" the kid shouted tossing the ball. Out popped some weird bug thing covered in leaves. "Burmy use tackle!" he order and the bug type charged Sanagirasu.
"San, counter with bite!" Mech commanded. San waited for the right moment and bit down on her opponent who charged right into her waiting jaw. She shook it for a moment and threw it back in the direction of the kid. The kid returned his Burmy to its ball, and walked over to Mech.
"I guess you win. Here's your prize money." The kid said dejected handing over some money. "I guess you're not a rookie. A word of advice though, there are trainers a lot tougher then me in there. Watch out."
"Thanks, but I think we'll be just fine." Mech replied as the kid walked back towards the city. "Great job San! Was it as easy as it looked?"
"Thanks for the compliment. It was, though it didn't taste very good." San said. After fighting their way through the forest for a while, avoiding battles where they could, and just after beating a semi challenging Murkrow, the pokédex made a beeping sound so Mech checked it. The voice chimed up "A pokémon has gained a level and learned a new move". Mech checked the page and found San's level had changed to 28. The stats had increased and the attack page showed she had learned dark pulse. Mech folded it away and they continued destroying all the challengers, frequently healing San.
Eventually they made it near a town called Floaroma town when a rustling in the bushes stopped them in their tracks. Out of the plants hopped a small plant like thing the pokédex identified as "Budew".
"San, what do you say we add a teammate?" Mech asked.
"It would be nice to have someone to fight when I'm tired. Go for it." She replied.
"Okay, lets try out your new move, dark pulse!" Mech called. San focused for a second before releasing a wave of dark energy at the Budew. It was so short and slow to dodge so it took the brunt of the attack and fainted on the spot. Mech took out a ball and threw it at the downed opponent. After a moment the Budew was his. "Alright, I caught my second pokémon!" He cheered, Sanagirasu joining in the jubilation.
Chapter End Notes:This is the last update for a while. I'm gunna work on more of the story. The next part is a bunch of chapters. I might be retooling them so in a week I'll upload some more
