Story Notes:

Oh and thank you for 10000 views. Wish I could do something special...Oh wait, I did. New goal: 20000(on top 10s!)(Man the competition is fierce.)I'm a writer. I tried writing on fur affinity, but the server there has crashed and no one has seriously commented on my stories. I'm hoping for some comments on this new story which I am releasing here first. Axe that, only here. Especially since I'm so close to getting on the top ten for most words(about 20000 more) and potentially most reads(more then 5000 now) I'll put the general disclaimer here. All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures inc, and Pokemon. The original characters and plot are the property of me. I am in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of Pokemon. No copyright infringement is intended. If you are offended by anything in this story, then you have a serious problem being offended by something no one force you to read but I don't care enough so don't complain to me if you end up offended.

Chapter 8 A Little Detour

San was having another nightmare. In it the Blastoise was trying to kill her. Just as it was about to deal the final blow, something woke her up.
"Huh? What?" she said still half asleep, finding herself staring up at a very concerned looking Mech. "Where am I?"
"Hey, are you alright San? You've been having nightmares all the time. I've been trying to wake you up, but you haven't until now."
"Where am I?" she repeated.
"Uh, back in Jubilife." He explained.
"How long have I been out?"
"Just a couple days. After the fight, you passed out. I carried you back to Sandgem where they healed you up. Though you wouldn't wake up so I got worried. Subomi and I ended up back here. We took turns watching you, waiting for you to wake up."
"Oh. Thanks for taking care of me. So now what?"
"Well I already sent a message to Oak about what happened. He replied saying there's trouble in the Oreburgh gate, a place just outside Oreburgh city, between here and there. Apparently the Geodude in the area are attacking travelers."
"My clan lives near there and they've never been trouble before." San commented, trying to get up.
"We're not going anywhere until you're all better. Or at least able to travel without any problems." Mech countered helping her up.
"Just put me in a pokéball. It can't be too bad. I don't really mind, honest. I'd only slow you down like this anyway."
"You and I both know you hate it in there. I could always carry you." Mech suggested.
"You can't carry me, I'm at least 300 pounds! No human can lift me for long."
"I carried you to Sandgem. You're not that heavy. Or I just didn't notice. Maybe it has something to do with me beating that Blastoise, but I feel so much stronger. Check this out!" He said, picking San up without trying. "That is, if you don't mind."
"Well that might get awkward, me being three feet tall."
"I thought of that, so I picked up these" he said holding up some pokéballs except the top red half was transparent. "I picked these up at a shop. They work just like the normal ones, but when you're inside you can see out. While you were asleep I registered you to one. Even if you never use it the option is still there."
"That can't be too bad. I'll be nearly useless against rock types. I'm sure Subomi will be able to handle them. Besides, he needs the experience. I really only hate not being able to see the world. Let's at least try it."
"If you're sure." Mech conceited, returning San to the ball. "How is it?"
"Surprisingly comfortable. Well the Geodude problem isn't going to solve itself, lets roll!"

"Hey! It's a human! Get him!" shouted a Geodude alerting the others nearby. Mech, San, and Subomi had made it to Oreburgh Gate. They had been unnoticed so far but the Geodude had finally noticed him.
"Why are humans barred from here? This is a human cave, by all rights you have no authority here." Mech yelled in response.
"This is our cave now. We have been thrown out of our home so this is your home now!" One Geodude retorted "But why waste breath on you, you don't understand us."
"I do understand you! Why have you been thrown out of your homes?"
"You understand us?" another said surprised.
"Yeah long story. Anyway, could you answer my question?" he asked. The Geodude stopped their attack and huddled together conversing with whispers. Finally one moved forward and spoke.
"Come with us, our leader needs to talk to you."
"Fine. Take me to him."
"Not him, her."
"Er, my bad. Well show me the way." Mech said. The Geodude lead the way through the maze of tunnels with the only light source being Mech's headlamp. After a while they passed more and more Geodude and Graveler the further they went but their vanguard kept them at bay. Subomi tried to make himself smaller on Mech's backpack while San watched intently. Eventually they came out into a large room. In the center sat a rather large Golem. It seemed to be asleep but started speaking.
"So, why have you brought a human here?" She asked.
"He can understand us! He might be able to help us get our home back!" one of the Geodude explained.
"Is it true human, can you understand us?" She asked again addressing Mech
"Yes I can. I'm here to get your home back."
"Why would a human care about our affairs?"
"Well you are attacking people. I came to find out why and I intend to solve it."
"Then I shall tell you but you can't do anything about it. We used to live on the tops of these mountains, and sometimes ventured down. We had plenty of food and everything was fine. Then the Charizards came. Normally we would be able to hold them off, but there was too many and they were too strong. We were few and had become weak having no reason to fight. So they forced us into these caves. Trainers have been catching the few we have left so I issued the command to attack and chase away humans on sight. We don't like being here any more then the humans, but we cannot reclaim our home. If you want to do anything, find out why the Charizards have taken over out mountain and if you can, force them to leave. Though you will probably be killed. If you succeed, we will stop attacking passers by and return to the mountains surface.
"Could you at least show me the way up?"
"Of course, we want you to succeed as much as you do. You" the Golem said pointing at one of the Geodude "shall lead him up the mountain. Go as far as necessary to ensure he makes it to the Charizards. You do not have to put yourself in any more danger then that. If you are attacked, you are to get back here."
"Understood my Queen." The Geodude said bowing. He led Mech out of the cave and showed him up the path headed for the top. As they got about half way up, a large red draconic like figure flew down. The Geodude fled at the sight, but the Charizard ignored it and instead focused on the human in front of it.
"What is a human doing in our territory? You, Budew, get him out of here or I will kill you both." the Charizard ordered.
"I'm not going anywhere. I'm here to talk to your leader about the Geodude in the cave below, and you can't stop me."
"No human may enter out territory let alone see the Alpha. Leave."
"No. You will take me to your leader."
"And why should I do that?"
"Because I can understand everything you're saying. Not take me there."
