Eye of the storm

"We have to confront him, give him one more chance to decide." "We need to take him now! He's had to long, he can't talk, theres no reason for him anymore and you know it!" "Your both right, he's had to much suffering, and we need to take him before he kills himself, but on the other hand, he does deserve a choice, as does everyone." "oh don't start with that bullshit, just pick a side! we're not get-" "Hello?!" "Great, someones here, quickly, we can't be seen, we'll be back for him tonight."

Aven woke up to his surprise at waking up at all, the fact that he had even been passed out. his throat was killing him and he stared waiting at the shadowy figure a few feet away. He would've gotten up and ran but he couldn't feel his arms or legs, matter of fact, the only thing he could feel were tears rolling down his face, and he had no clue as to why. "Oh damn, i thought you'd never wake up, you must've been dreaming really bad, nothing but wimpers and growling til now." Aven flinched as he saw something coming towards his face and opened his eyes when he felt a hand run down his cheek. There stood a black and white buizel, apparantly this was his savior. As much as Aven wanted to show his appreciations to him he could only mouth one word, hoping he could read lips. "Water...water..." mouthed Aven desperately, hoping to soon soothe the fire in his throat. "Oh, of course." As quickly as he left the buizel had returned with a clay bowl filled to the rim with water. Aven, still having difficulty moving, found himself being taken care of by this random stranger. "Your in pretty bad shape....what happened to you?" Aven tried to explain, but found himself speaking nothing and straining his throat more. "Oh....can't talk huh. then, i'll just stick to yes or no questions. did it have anything to do with those three guys that ran off when i found you? " Aven gave him a confused look. "They were all in white, and dissapeared when i found you." "All in white? They came for me?!" Aven thought to himself. Aven found his train of thoughts interupted by the stranger. "Um, just in case you were wondering why i was so worried, well, not alot happens down here on these beaches or anywhere near, so i don't have problems of my own to care about, so when anything happens, i immediately throw myself into the problem, so i don't feel so selfish, only caring for myself........my name's Ben by the way." Aven felt something stirring inside, quite unusual, was it pity? sympathy? He couldn't tell, it happened as soon as Ben wiped the tears from his face. "I over heard something when i found you, i heard those three say "back for him tonight" so, if there's anything you need, let me know, im going to be on guard in front of the cave." before he left Aven scratched into the wall, "STITCHES" Ben came around and read it, wondering what he could have meant. "What do you need stitches for? Are your hurt?" Aven clawed in to the wall once more, "TO MEND THIS BROKEN HEART" Ben looked at him with great concern, both of them at a stalemate, staring at each other, until Ben finally left to fetch some water.

Some time later....

"Hey, i got plenty of water for you when you need it, so- what?" While Ben was away Aven had regained the feeling in his arms and legs, and had been very busy. Ben could only feel his jaw drop as he saw the walls of the cave covered in writing, in the center of it all appeared to be a name, "A-ve-n? Is your name Aven?" Ben was so distracted by the walls he hadn't checked to see where Aven was, as he felt something tug on his left arm, there sat Aven in a corner, arms folded over, head in his knees. He simply nodded to answer his question. "Aven huh......I like that name." Spoke Ben, who for some reason was now smiling. "What is all this?" The walls screamed Avens emotions from every side, "SO CONFUSED, SO LOST, SO CORRUPT, NO ONE'S FAULT BUT MY OWN, SHE DESERVES BETTER, I AM NOTHING TO HER, I AM NOTHING TO ANYBODY, NO POINT, WASTE OF SPACE" It couldn't have been any clearer, now was the time. Ben had been thinking recently, and it was time to act on these thoughts, no turning back, no second thoughts. Ben simply kneeled down in front of aven, leaned in, moving his arms out of the way, picking up his head, and planting his lips to Avens. Aven was not sure what to do, so he sat through, and got that same feeling he had had earlier. Right then Aven pushed Ben away gently, what was it? Some natural attraction? Since they had met Aven had the same feeling when he was around him, and it really caught him off guard. Aven slowly stood, moved to the wall where there was a blank patch, and carved "STILL HOPE, STILL CONFUSED, NOTHING TO HER, SOMETHING TO HIM." Aven slowly walked forward towards Ben in a way so that he couldn't read what he had done until after he had left. Aven closed his eyes quickly, leaning forward and returning Bens kiss, very briefly, before walking out on to the beaches, leaving Ben there, not knowing whether what he had done was right or not.

Aven was sitting on the beaches rim, letting the ocean water lap at his feet as it came in, staring at the sky, watching it change color slowly. He felt something on his shoulder and turned around to see Ben. "Hey.....ummm, about that, it's just.....how do i put it..." Ben kicked at the sand a little and looked down at his feet before looking up at Aven, blushing slightly. "I've never been more sure of anything, i get this feeling when your around, though i thought it was sympathy towards your condition, it turned out to be so much more, i know, i don't even know you, and you don't even know me, but sometimes things just happen, like you coming here. Aven, I-" Ben was interupted by a sound. Ben finally picked his head up to look at Aven clearly, he was shaking, whimpering, and his mouth was open, as if he were trying to scream. The sun was gone, and the moon was literally killing Aven, though Ben didn't know. "Aven! What's wrong?!" Aven fell over on his side and stared out at something, coming closer, a floating figure. The figure had split now in to three. "The collectors?" Thought Aven as they got closer. The ghastly was approaching fast as he yelled. "Forget waiting! Your coming with us Aven! Whether you want to or not!" The gengar had slamed Ben on to th beach, and the haunter and ghastly had grabbed Aven and took off. Before he was out of earshot Aven remembered when the collectors are around, he can talk, with that in mind, he yelled as loud as he could. "GO FIND LAURA!!!" Ben had heard him loud and clear, and had only one problem, he had no clue how to find a person he'd never met or seen before. Ben could only watch as Aven was dragged across the ocean and away. Ben ran towards the cave with tears streaming down his face, scanning the walls left and right, finding key clues. "PURPLE, SPRINGS, SECRET" he found what he needed, a name, description, and a place. Ben ran out of the cave blasting a watergun at the beach, sending him upwards like a rocket. By the time he had reached the top, he was tired, but he couldn't stop for anything, he dragged himself up on the grass and got a feel for this new environtment before running off in to the millions of tree's that seprated him from his target. Ben ran fast and stopped immediatly after falling into a pond. "Pond, wait no, a spring!" He stopped for a moment, listening, he heard someone. "SECRET" The word flashed through his mind. Ben pushed a bush out of the way to find a smaller spring, and Laura sitting there, crying in her arms. As much of a hurry he was in, he approached slowly. "Excuse me..." Laura glanced up. "Laura?" The fact that he knew her name caught her off guard as she jumped up suddenly and threw her claws up, ready for anything. "I'll take that as a yes, and it's good your ready for a fight, we might have to." "What do you mean, we? What's going on? Who are you?" Ben was being a little risky as he stepped forward almost to close. "We don't have time for questions, if we don't hurry we won't be able to help, to be honest, i'm not sure if we can even help now!" "There you go with we again, what's going on?!" Ben pushed it and grabbed Lauras claws and stared her dead in the face. "They took Aven!" Laura stopped all of her thoughts at the mention of that name and noticed the tears under Bens eyes. She began to cry as well, Ben stepped back and let go of her claws, allowing her to register what he said. "How do you know Aven?" Laura asked through sniffs and sobs. "I don't have time to tell you right now, all i know is three white robed figures came, took Aven, and headed off. All he told me was to find you." Laura stood up and grabbed ben's arm gently. "Promise he's gonna be ok..." Sobbed Laura. "I wish i could..." Ben replied, holding back his tears the best he could. They ran towards the cliffs and jumped without a second thought. Ben shot a watergun as hard as he could at the ground, pushing him up slightly, making for a soft landing. "Which way did they take him?" Asked Laura. She was confused when Ben pointed out in to the ocean. She gasped. "Did they drown him?!" "No no, nothing like that, they were flying, and took him across that way. It'll be much faster if i do the swimming, so get on my back." Laura hadn't noticed ben had gotten in the water and was on his stomach waiting, tails spinning slowly like a motor. Laura whispered to herself as she walked over to Ben. "Right. We're coming Aven.....just please hold on...."
