Getting Ready Part 2

I rushed into the room, and my dad, Marden, Zachary, William, Peachy, Rein, and Mar were already in there.

"Well, let's not just stand there. I have two hours to get ready." I rushed into the bathroom and thought to myself 'Us guys outnumber the girls extremely. Don't say that, Marden. Please.'

'I won't.' He replied.

This is going to be interesting. I have an idea, but I want to run it by you first.

What is it?

Well, I was thinking of using the fur to make a makeshift tuxedo.

Hmm. I never thought about that. I suppose it could work, but it would be weird looking.

And yet, I am the one walking down the aisle. Not you.

True. So, now that there are so many people, do you know who'd going to do what?

I don't know. "William, do you feel good still being best man?"

"Absolutely, mate! I'd be honored!"

"Good. And the rest of you, except for Peachy, I'm sorry, but you guys will have to be in the audience, watching."

They seemed to talk it over a bit. "That's fine with us!" came the sound of Zachary.

"Okay. Peachy, you're a bit big for Ring bearer, but do you still want the job?"

"Of course!" he said.

"Alright. It's settled. Once I'm done in here, we'll head out. It's going to take me about an hour and a half to get this right." I said the last part to myself.

Okay. Now, to get this underway. I concentrated as hard as I could on the desired shape and color I wanted. It didn't come out the right way on the first try, and I didn't expect it to.

Need some help?

Yeah. This is what I wanted. I showed him what I wanted to be.

Hmm. You gave some thought into this, didn't you?

Of course!

Hmm. Well, it seems easy enough. You're just preoccupied with other things at the moment.

Like my marriage?

Especially your marriage.

Great. Could you help me concentrate?

Sure.

And with that, we both concentrated on the desired look. within a half of an hour, we got it just right. Once it was perfect, I finished with the hair, and then went out to the room to show the group. "I think this will work pretty well, don't you?"

The guys just gaped at me. "When did you cook this up?" my dad asked.

"Well, I thought about it on my way here. And my Inner Lucario helped me design it."

"Interesting. Not only can you transform at will, you can communicate with your Inner Lucario at will?" Marden asked.

"Hey, is anyone going to fill me in on how he can do that?" Zachary asked.

"Sure." So, I took an hour to explain my situation. It would have been shorter, but I had to answer questions of his, and also shorten my words sometimes for Mar and Rein, then being only little kids.

"So, you can transform into a full Lucario at will?" Zachary asked.

"Yep. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't really find the whole self-grooming thing very neat. Can someone help me with that?" I asked.

Zachary laughed. "I'll help you. You're hopeless."

"Thanks. I owe you one."

"Nah. We're even." He winked.

"Oh yeah." I said, not wanting to say anymore.

He used his claws to rake through my fur to get every knot out of it. Once he was sure that all the knots were gone, and my skin stopped hurting, he gave me a tongue bath, which not only creeped and grossed me out, but felt surprisingly inviting.

"Uhh, Dustin? Do you need us in here for this?" my dad asked.

"Well, if you want, you guys could get ready, instead of seeing me get married in your Pajamas." I laughed.

They looked at each other, then at themselves, and laughed, and left for their rooms so they could get ready. Zachary was finished grooming me within a few minutes. "There. Now you're ready for the aisle. But before you go out there, could you show me transform your mouth to a Lucario snout?"

I smiled, and oblidged. I formed the image in my head, and focused on the snout. It worked like I wanted, and my mouth was replaced with a Lucario snout in a matter of about half of a minute.

"Cool. I wish I could transform into a human. Then again, I wish for a few things that don't come true." he said solemnly.

"Your father?" I asked.

"Yeah. I haven't actually tried to wish for him for a while, but I kinda gave up on it after a few snow seasons of wishing."

"It must be hard, knowing you're never going to see him again." I said sadly.

"Oh, even I know that I'll see him again. It's just going to take some time."

I nodded. I feel bad for him. His father probably won't even show, and I don't think that whole wishing thing actually works.

Well, then, make it work!

What do you-

Think about it.

I thought for a minute. Ohh!

Yeah. There ya go.

It's perfect! And while I'm getting married, could you take it over and give it life?

If you need, I think I can.

Cool. This whole Dustario Syndrome is getting even better and better!

Well, you'd better get into your mindset. Do you remember your vows?

My vows?

You mean to tell me that you didn't write any vows?

Uhh, was I supposed to?

Aww great. Now we have to write vows for this thing as well! Oh well, we have some time before your married. Now, let's think. One thing you promise you're going to do while married to Sylvia.

I promise to protect her with every breath of my body.

Perfect! There's your first vow!

Wow. That was easy!

Yeah, but now you need at least 5 more.

Oh, that'll be easy!

And you have to make them sound as romantic as you can.

No problem. Now let's see. I grabbed a piece of paper, and a pencil, and jotted down the forst one that I had already. There Only 5 more to go.

Now, just keep thinking.

Okay, okay. How about I promise to hold and to care for her and help her in times of need.

That's good! You seem to have a knack for this!

I jotted that one down as well. See? I told you this would be easy.

Yeah, don't go getting all high and mighty just yet.

Okay, okay. Now, we need 4 more. How about I promise to love and cherish her with all my heart and soul.

Good! Keep thinking.

Me and my Inner Lucario were there for the remainder of the time thinking of vows for the wedding. Once we got those out of the way, it was time.

I exited the room, feeling extremely nervous.

Don't be nervous.

I can't help it! I'm only 10 and I'm about to make the biggest plunge in my entire life! I've got Butterfrees in my stomach!

Well, get them out! We need you to be focused. This is greater than any battle you could ever face. You need to concentrate.

You're right. I'll treat this like a battle! That way, I can be calm the whole way through!

Not what I had in mind, but okay. That works!

I walked off, getting ready for the biggest battle of my life.
