Brotherhood Ch.18
Mecha: Hey everyone. Mecha here.
Xehta: And Xehta too! *waves*
"Hey Robin Hood and 'Little' John." Black appears out of Xehta's shadow. "How's the merry men?"
Mecha: Can it maid Marian.
Black: Ok... but how can anyone be happy with a former villain about to knock on heaven's door while his double might do what his original can't?
Mecha: *shrugs* Not really supposed to be happy.
Xehta: It does suck though. I mean...Death had done so much good. I really hope he makes it.
Black: If you ask me if he probably deserves better than what he ran into. After all he's....well as my dad put it...a fallen angel.
Mecha: *shrugs* Who knows how this will end...for now...let's start the next chapter.
A solemn air enveloped everyone in the clearing. Albel stood at the perimeter, not complaining that they weren't moving for once. Tia and Blaze were side by side, the tyranitar casting nervous glances at the two she was worried about. Rika was petting Bane, the male looking towards his sibling. Azur was with the tyranitar and typhlosion couple, while her mother and father did their best for her brother. But Inferno and Sky's task wasn't easy, Flint was miserable. But not nearly as miserable as Ferra, who sat crying near her mate, the mightyena that was struggling for his life.
They had done their best to help their friend, using every means of healing herb, berry...anything they could find that would help. But when all was said and done; only Arceus could say what would befall Death. The male's breathing was shallow and labored, his senses seeming to be gone in his bad state. Ferra sat with a constant vigil upon the male she loved; tears hadn't stopped falling down her cheeks ever since she found him. She occasionally whispered his name, begging him to wake up.
Flint wasn't much better than Ferra, he was drowning in guilt. When he had saw Death he froze, shaking before collapsing. All he could get out to his worried parents was that it was his fault. His mother was now wrapped around him; Inferno wrapped around his boy's other side. He sniffled, "It's all my fault."
Sky nuzzled him, "No it's not Flint."
"It is...I asked him to train me...if I hadn't...he'd...he'd never would have never been here alone." He sniffled, lightly crying, "It's my fault this happened!" he buried his face into his mother's side, breaking into full cry. Sky and Inferno struggled to think of a way to comfort him, but neither could think of anything.
"It's not your fault Flint." Everyone looked to Ferra, including the absol pup. "Death agreed to it, so it'd be just as much his fault as yours. But..." she clenched her paws, "It's neither of your faults."
Bane nodded, "It was Sima Yi. And the Brotherhood."
Albel scoffed, "Crying won't do a thing runt. If you're going to do anything, vow that you'll put what he taught you to good use. Either that, or just shut up and spare me the annoying sound of your crying."
Inferno would have glared, but it seemed that Albel's words worked. "Besides, what's done is done. All one can do is take what has happened and plan ahead to repay the transgression."
Flint nodded weakly, "O...okay." The absol's parents sighed in relief, happy he had calmed down a bit. Meanwhile Ferra went back into her quiet crying, looking over Death, silently begging him to wake up already.
**********
Death sighed, seeing the all too familiar door finish opening. He wasn't sure what awaited him beyond the door, but he knew that it meant not seeing Ferra, more than likely, ever again. He shook his head, backing away from the door, "I don't want to..."
"Little...choice..." spook a distant ethereal voice.
Death looked to the entity he was named after. The black cloaked apparition, with the black as night scythe. "I refuse!"
"No." it pointed to the door with its skeletal finger, "Must...enter."
"I won't!" Death shouted.
"No...return." It pointed to him, "Not...this...time..." it pointed to the door again, "Here...forever...now."
"No!" Death protested, feeling that the battle was a lost cause even now.
"You...have...no...say." It slammed the bladeless side of its scythe into the mightyena, knocking him to the ground. "Time...is...up."
Death shook his head, "No..." his protest grew weaker.
The hand grabbed him, dragging him to the door, "Fate...has...called." The cloaked figure kept going to the door, "You...must...heed...fate's...call."
Death whimpered, "...Ferra..."
"She'll...join...soon."
Death gripped the ground, bringing THE Death to a halt, "What?"
"Ferra...dies." It replied, "Killed...by...doppelganger."
Death stood up, before a tentacle slammed at the hand, "NO! I refuse to die! I won't let her come to harm!"
"Fool." It grabbed its scythe.
"I. WON'T. DIE." Death flicked his tentacles and wings. "Even if I have to kill the master of death...I WILL PROTECT HER!"
**********
Flint sighed; the day had passed without much change in Death's condition. The young male shook his head, looking up at the night sky. "I'm sorry uncle Death." He shook his head again, "But...I'll stop Sima Yi." He growled lightly, "I won't let him do something like this ever again."
"Tough words from a weakling." Albel eyed the pup.
Flint didn't respond for a while, "Than I'll get stronger. I'll fight stronger and stronger opponents. I'll beat them one by one, until I find Sima Yi. Then I'll..."
"Kill him?" Albel asked.
Flint sighed, "I...I have no other choice. He won't change."
Albel nodded, "Correct." The scrap of a blade leaving a sheath sounded off. Flint looked behind himself, seeing Albel with his blade drawn, "Draw your blade runt. Otherwise I'll just beat you this night."
The lucario leapt at Flint, his blade barely stopped by the pups own weapon, the blunt end of the katana aimed for Flint. "You're faster than last time. But are you fast enough!" he kicked, the pup leaping over the attack. Before Albel could take advantage of the air born exposure though, a ice beam forced him to leap back. Flint landed, catching his blade. His barely visible smirk was confident, but his eyes showed he wasn't about to let his guard down.
"You've gotten a lot better." Albel chuckled, going in for another attack, Flint counter charging. As the two blades clashed, smirks appeared on both of their faces.
**********
Death panted hard, the black shrouded figure showing no signs of exhaustion. "Damn it!" Death charged again, launching shadow balls and air slashes. It just blocked all the ranged attacks, trying to slash back, but Death leapt over it, slamming a tentacle into the side of its head. "Go down!"
Death flew a short distance, glaring as the Death turned to face him again. The mightyena panted more, glaring, "fuck...this isn't...good."
"You...were...told." It unleashed a night slash which Death barely stopped. "Your...time...is...over." It rushed Death, scythe held high, swinging it down. Death barely managed to avoid the attack, unleashing a shadow ball at the cloaked master of the mortal coil. It only flinched from the impact before attacking again, scythe swinging.
**********
Sima Yi cackled, "I told you. My plan was sure to work. Now we have a new and powerful ally...while they lack Death."
Nadox scoffed, "Losing such a weak pokemon isn't really much."
Sima Yi smirked, "True...but this 'true' Death isn't a weak one."
The leader smiled, "Good work Sima Yi. And Nadox...don't underestimate what a loss of a friend will do to their drive."
Sima Yi smirked, "Yes Nadox. They'll either lose will...or become blind by anger. Both of which my genius can take advantage of."
Nadox glared, "What makes you think that new Death won't be a traitor."
Sima Yi cackled, "His lust for vengeance on Bane of course."
"Did I hear a vermin's name mentioned?" The dark doppelganger walked in, a vile smirk on his face. "What's Bane's name doing in here?"
The leader chuckled, "We were just deciding how best to finish them off. With your weak half dealt with, we have them to deal with now."
The dark Death cackled, "Does master Sima Yi have an idea?"
The man nodded, "Actually yes. I've just devised a marvelous plan of dealing with the trash."
**********
Death panted, cursing as he watch his name sake unflinching and unwavering. "Damn it...I can't...lose..."
"Wrong...you...can't...win." It replied coldly.
Death glared, "No..." he shook his head, "No!" he looked back up, his passion reignited. "Ferra...she's given me so much...I can't just abandon her!" he stood tall, "No matter how long I have to fight...no matter how many times you get back up...I WILL WIN! If for no other reason...than it will be for her!" Death charged forward, catching the dark figure off guard. With its scythe pinned by his tentacle, Death unleashed a barrage of shadow balls.
The cloaked master of death recoiled, "Ahh!" it tried to unleash a beam of dark energy, but Death used an air cutter through it. Before slamming another tentacle into it, this one at the chest. The Death recoiled back, skidding to a stop, despite the fact it lacked legs and feet.
"I won't...I won't let the first female I've ever loved die so soon! I'll fight Arceus himself before letting that happen!" He rushed forward, preparing a mix of air slash, air cutter, nice slash, and slash in his tentacles. The Death prepared its scythe, the weapon glowing with energy. The two rushed one another, time seeming to slow as they neared.
With a flash the two skidded to a stop. They remained motionless for what felt like years, before Death vanished, and the door closed. The grim reaper took a calm position, "Fate...has...spoken."
Mecha: Wow...Death vanishes and the door closed. But does it mean he made it away...or is he trapped inside?
Jewel: I'd ask White to check but that'd be a spoiler, but this is killing me, all the suspense.
Mecha: *nods* That's why I have her tied up in my room.
Xehta: *eye roll* Really? And you don't have something kinky planned later on?
Mecha: *blushes, looking away, mumbling*
Black: *for once snickers up from it.* Oh that's Mecha. He has a way to keep secrets safe. *snickers*
Mecha: Well...I better go...make sure White keeps quiet. *heads for his room*
Xehta: *chuckles* Well...he did have to make up for the last chapter.
Black: True, but I'm still poking on what will be of him now. ...Damn it... I got to wait until 19.
Jewel: It'll do you good to wait.
Xehta: Well...later folks.Chapter End Notes:Tell me what you think please. Thanks
Xehta: And Xehta too! *waves*
