Brotherhood Ch.9
Xehta: Umm, hi. Jewel left to go see her family, and Mecha went with her. So it's just me this commentary. Well, after last chapter, this one is sure to have a whole lot of battles and chaos. *scratches head* Umm, well, I guess we should get going with the story then. *pushes a button, a turret pops up, and fires a missile into a wall, leaving a big hole* Ah! Wrong button! *pushes another, a flame thrower turret popping up and torching a different wall* Ack! Which button was it!? *pushes another, starting the story*
Tia and Blaze were both keeping their eyes peeled for any sign of trouble. They knew they had to keep on their guard if they wanted to keep the pups safe and sound. So far it appeared as if nothing was around, but after the last battle, the two knew not to let down their vigilance for even a moment. Azur was doing her best to look as if she was on guard to, though she was getting bored quick. Flint was also keeping his eyes and ears peeled, not wanting to repeat his last experience with the brotherhood.
Blaze stretched his neck, getting a kink out. ~It's way too quiet.~ He thought to himself. There wasn't even the sound of local pokemon, but he supposed that was thanks to the Brotherhood's presence, but he still felt uneasy. Tia was in the same boat though so it made him relax slightly knowing he wasn't being crazy.
They weren't aware that an enemy was indeed about to reach them.

Inferno, Sky, Rika, Bane, Death, Ferra, and Ginger were sneaking through the little over growth they could find. Narrowly avoiding patrols, and barely able to find the actual facility. It wasn't a large building from the outside, of course it could, and probably was, a different story on the inside. They cautiously approached, Death using a tentacle to open the door, and they all slipped inside. Inferno looked about, the first floor was an elevator, nothing else. They also saw a stair case, with a sign, 'Living Quarters'.
"I guess the supplies go down via elevator, while the grunts take the stairs." Death said. "I think this is a standard design, from Biogen actually. There's only two floors, this one and two rooms below. One's got the supplies; the other is the rooms for the guys."
Bane nodded, "So then, we've got a choice...I say we split up. Take out both rooms at once."
Ginger nodded, "Right...I'll go with Bane and take out the living quarters. Inferno, you Sky, Death and Ferra can toast the supplies, I'm sure that you'll need more people to do that, since they'll be intent on stopping you."
Inferno nodded, "Right. Let's go. We'll meet up where Tia and Blaze are!"
Rika was the only one who didn't like the plan, for a very obvious reason, not that anyone seemed to care. She grumbled to herself, as she went with Bane and Ginger to the quarters. They found the room was about a third full. And all of them were asleep, short of one female human, "Who are...WAKE UP! We've got company!"
Bane silenced her with a shadow ball to the face, but the rest of the room had started stirring. Ginger smiled, "Alright! Fun time!" She let loose a shadow ball into a waking alakazam, slamming him into a wall. The rest of the room was up and rushing to the offence, Ginger meeting them with a spinning iron tail. Several of them were knocked aside, groaning from pain.
Bane whistled, "Not bad! But I can top that!" He rushed forward, his tail glowing with his own iron tail, but he did his best version of a rollout attack. Upon reaching the other end of the group, he fired off several shadow balls. Ginger smirked, "My, handsome, smart, and strong!" She giggled, easily knocking aside a marowak.
Rika wasn't going to be shown up by Ginger, she was charged and ready. Speeding forward she used her own iron tail, but put some shocking power into it. The knocked back grunt discharged into his comrades, shocking them all. Rika smirked, "Ha! Beat that!" She gave a triumphant smirk, before a door burst open and more grunts poured in. As they did an alarm sounded.
Bane smiled, "Looks like Inferno and the others got some attention."
Ginger nodded, smirking, "Yeah. But we've got to be good guests right now, and show our hosts that we are entertained."
Bane smirked, nodding. "How about a double blast?"
Ginger nodded again, preparing a shadow ball. Bane was going to use a hyper beam. The Brotherhood grunts rushed forward, humans armed with close combat weapons. The shadow ball went first, the hyper beam striking its back, and rocketing it forward, the resulting explosion knocking out three quarters of the enemy.
The other fourth however, were humans with guns. Bane's smirk vanished. A few pokemon were also mixed in, and were more than likely ranged specialists. Ginger gulped, as they all took aim.
A cracking got all of the soldiers to look down though, and out sprang a raichu, who blasted them all with a shock wave. The humans and pokemon fell, even the grass type. Rika smirked, "Welcome."
Bane smiled, "When did you learn to do that?"
Rika smirked, "I've been practicing while you slept." It was true; she had to do something when she couldn't sleep because of her nightmares. She looked into the other room, "All clear in there." She was smiling big, when a geodude dropped out from a roof tile, and smashed her face into the ground.
"Rika!" Bane snarled, rushing forward, an iron tail ready. The geodude tried to use a defense curl, but it was smashed into pieces without any trouble. Rika groaned, blood running from her now broken nose. "Rika, are you gonna be okay." Bane asked, worried. She just groaned again. He shook his head, whimpering, "get on my back." She was able to do it, groaning in pain.
Bane sighed, as they headed out to rendezvous with the others. Ginger was smiling, "Not bad. Only one bad injury, against all those guys." Bane would have felt better if the injury had been his.
**********
Blaze growled, pushed back by a bullet seed from a grovyle. They had been attacked, much to his dismay. One scout had reported them, and now the whole convoy was attacking them, since they had picked one of the actual bridge areas to stake out. And to make matters worse, the pups were already involved in the fight. Blaze cast a look at the one he was most worried about, Flint.
Not too long after the scout reported, a mankey appeared, and went straight for Azur. The shiny houndour was caught off guard and would have been badly hurt, if her brother hadn't stopped the attack. But Flint did it in a way he hadn't meant to. He killed the attacker. Flint was in a traumatized state, and yet he kept fighting, though he wasn't using his blood stained sword anymore.
Blaze couldn't imagine what Flint was going through. He, Tia, Inferno, Sky, Death, Rika, and Bane, all of them had grown so used to killing those who would kill them, but Flint was still young, he didn't know how to handle knowing he took the life of another. Blaze couldn't linger long on the problem, as the grovyle was still pressing the attack, before getting a fire blast to the face.
Tia was holding up well, not finding any of her opponents much trouble. A machoke was trying to match her strength, and failing miserably. Tia managed to pick him up and toss him into a group of his comrades, before blasting the wriggling mass with a thunderbolt. She then used an iron tail to knock away a rhydon, and striking several others in the process. She then used a hyper beam, to blast a human away from Azur. Tia then went back to focusing on her own opponents.
Azur and Flint were working together to take down the ones attacking them. The numbers were few since Tia and Blaze were the main threat. Azur was mainly keeping them away with slashes, while Flint used ember attacks on their faces. Flint wasn't entirely in control, his actions coming solely from the instinct to protect himself. Azur was actually having fun with the fight, but then again, she hadn't killed anyone yet.
But the fight was becoming bleak, more and more Brotherhood members were coming, and Tia and Blaze were starting to tire. And a second group was quickly approaching.
**********
Inferno and the others had taken the elevator down, and just stepped out, when they saw what the supplies were. It was weapons yes, but also armor, food, and various other things. They all stared, Death smirking, "Man, we are gonna leave them crying when we destroy this." Inferno and the others all nodded.
Ferra sighed, "Not sure what I can do to help destroy this."
Death nuzzled her, "You can help us take out the guards. You know they won't stand by and let us torch this place." The floatzel smiled, nodding. A small boom alerted them that Bane, Rika, and Ginger had begun fighting. The four all nodded, and started to fire attacks at anything they could, chaos soon erupting the storage area. The few guards inside all rushed for the source of the commotion, and were met by a water pulse. Ferra smiled, tails waving at her work. All 4 guards, out cold.
Death gave her a cheer, before focusing on blasting big targets. They knew that just toppling the stacks of supplies wouldn't do much, but they were just laying the ground work for Inferno to do what he did best, burn it.
Inferno smirked, managing to get a crate of food to shatter, sending scraps of wood around the area. "Man, this is gonna get light up like a Christmas tree." He chuckled, moving to create more burn material. As they went though, an alarm sounded, before a door opened. It was an emergency exit to the outside, but now it was an emergency entrance. Inferno smirked, "Looks like we got more guys to beat on!"
Sky was the first to meet the extra guards, and blasted them with an ice beam. The guards weren't deterred though, and kept coming. Ferra joined the absol. "You boys keep on wrecking the joint. The dainty ladies will take care of the big bad guards." She snickered.
Death smirked, "Dainty? Right." He went back to smashing things, loving it. "Gods! Who knew you could still cause senseless destruction as a good guy?" he laughed, Inferno joining his laughter.
Sky and Ferra met the waves of grunts with a water pulse, followed by and ice beam. The two attacks colliding and creating an explosion and sending ice shares everywhere, cutting a majority of the Brotherhood grunts up. Ferra smirked, "How about a hyper sonic boom?" Sky smirked right back, nodding. Ferra unleashed the attack at the remaining grunts, before Sky used a hyper beam. The beam struck the sonic boom, and created small concussion blast, knocking out and away all the guards in the vicinity.
Death and Inferno were still making a mess, when the winged mightyena saw something that put a twinkle in his eye. "Hey Inferno! Check this out!"
The houndoom got to him, then smirked, "A big tankard of gasoline." He chuckled, "That's sure to make a big boom."
Death nodded, using his tentacles to get a few small containers of gas and started to pour it in a trail from the tankard to the door. "Alright. Let me just check if Bane and his two ladies got out." He headed through the door and into the air, upon seeing all three heading to the rendezvous he went back, "Alright! Light it and let's high tail it outta here!" Inferno nodded, going a little up the steps before using a spark to ignite the gas trail. All four quickly began bolting from the facility.
The guards started coming too, and started screaming when they saw the gas trail, "Run! This place is gonna blow!" they all began heading for the exit. The guards in the Living Quarters were alerted through radio, and they did much the same.
As Inferno, Death, Sky, and Ferra made it to the shore with Bane, Rika and Ginger, the facility exploded. The seven smiled, then saw that Blaze and Tia were being attacked. They didn't waste any time, and began heading to help their friends.
**********
The explosion caught both the Brotherhood and Blaze, Tia, and the pups off guard. The Brotherhood were stunned into immobility, but for only a moment. "We can't let them live! If we do we'll be killed!"
The tired typhlosion and tyranitar were both struggling now. After the initial ease, water and fighting types had appeared, and the couple was exhausted. The pups weren't doing any better.
After barely repulsing a hitmonchan a charizard appeared, smirking. "My my my...a little absol, and a houndour. I think I'll kill the boy and keep the slut to be for myself." He smirked more.
Neither Flint nor his sister were certain what he meant by slut, but Flint could guess it was a lot worse then what the charizard intended for him. "You're not gonna touch my sister you ugly lizard!"
"And you're gonna stop me? Please." The charizard was about to strike, when he was yanked back. Another charizard had a hold of his tail, and began spinning him. The Brotherhood charizard was tossed into the lake, but not before a barrage of water attacks hit him. From the tree several humans with pokemon partners appeared, and began to fight off the Brotherhood. The charizard smiled at Flint and Azur, "You two okay?" they nodded, "Good, take a rest then. Leave this fight to us." He flew off into a machamp, smashing him into a tree, then torching his face.
By the time Inferno and the others got there, the Brotherhood was in full retreat, leaving the convoy's supplies behind. Inferno was confused who the other group was. They wore blue pants and shirts, the latter clothing had a white "H" with a halo over it.
Then Inferno saw the charizard, with a female human, "No way...Halocaust? Ellune?"
She smiled, "Yep. Been awhile hasn't it? I see a certain houndoom and absol had some pups."
Sky blushed, "Well yeah."
Caust smiled, "I'm not really surprised you guys are fighting this...Brotherhood."
Blaze walked up, panting, "Yeah, though I wasn't expecting this convoy to hold so many guards."
Tia nodded, "yeah...why...holy miltank!" The group all looked, and saw why the convoy was under such heavy guard. It was loaded with missiles, and very destructive ones.
Death blinked, "That explains the heavy guard."
Caust nodded, "Damn, these guys don't mess around."
Ellune nodded, "Yeah." She shook her head, "Good thing we could stop this. Heaven only knows what they planned to do with these things." She smiled to the group, "How about we all have a little something to eat. I think you could use it after this." The group nodded, smiling.
The little feast went pleasantly. Rika was the happiest she'd ever been since Bane was making a big fuss over her. "I'm fine love. Just a little lump and a broken nose, nothing else." Bane still kept close by, licking her face, careful of her nose. Ginger seemed a bit irked that Bane was giving so much attention to Rika, which made the raichu all the more happy.
Team Halo and the gang began to exchange stories about what had happened since their last meeting. Team Halo had managed to put a giant dent into Team Rocket's operations, and cause a lot of trouble for other people like the Rocket's. The gang's tales were less dramatic, until when they first encountered the Brotherhood.
Inferno then noticed that Flint wasn't with any one, he was just looking at his sword. Inferno went up to his son, "What's wrong Flint?"
The small absol stayed quiet, almost as if he hadn't heard his father. After a nudge he broke down and began to lightly cry. "Dad...is it alright to kill another? Even if they were about to hurt family...is it still okay to kill them?"
Inferno blinked, "What happened?"
"It was a mankey...he came outta a tree. He went at Azur. She's a dark type, so she'd have been really hurt by his fighting attack...so I stepped between him and her...and...I swung my sword...and..." he started crying. "I didn't mean to kill him daddy!"
Inferno put a paw around Flint, "I'm sure you didn't Flint."
"Daddy...I feel terrible...what if he had a family?"
Inferno sighed, "I know it's not easy...especially when you think of it like that." He pet his son, "But he would have killed your sister if you hadn't stopped him. It's never right to just casually take life Flint...you have to make sure you're doing for the right reason. And if it's a choice between you, and someone who enjoys causing pain...then it's better he dies."
Flint looked up, "B...but..."
"If you hadn't killed him, then he'd go on, killing others. That's what the Brotherhood does. I'm not saying to kill everyone you fight, cause that's wrong. But, sometimes...we have no choice but to kill the enemy." He nuzzled Flint, "Son...as long as you stay like you are, a good male, you'll know instinctively who's good and shouldn't be killed and who's going to keep causing pain, killing other innocent people and pokemon."
"...Really?"
He nodded, "Yes. Soon enough, you'll be able to tell good people and pokemon, from the bad kinds." He held up a paw, "But it's not black and white. Remember that. Sometimes, bad things are done, but they aren't done with heart behind it." Flint tilted his head, confused slightly. "If someone held your sister hostage, threatening to kill her unless you fight for him, what would you do?"
"I'd obey...until I could free her and stop him."
Inferno nodded, "So you'd be doing bad things, but you're doing it to prevent a death."
Flint was still confused, but he nodded, "Alright dad."
Inferno licked the top of his son's head, "Don't worry too much about it Flint. So long as you don't enjoy killing, you'll still be a good boy." Inferno started to head back, "And Flint."
Flint looked to his dad, "yeah?"
Inferno smiled, "I'm proud that you protected you sister. You'll going to be a very strong male someday." He headed back, joining Sky and getting a lick from his love.
Flint just smiled, feeling great after his father words. He picked up his blade and sheathed it. ~I swear...this blade will only take the lives of those who are truly cruel.~ He smiled, joining his family.
