Chapter 1
CHAPTER 1 Meeting of Destiny
Ash and his friends had stopped near a river in Sinnoh as noon arrived. Ash was shining his Poke balls, Brock was cooking up some lunch, and Dawn was busy setting up a collapsible table. Ash stopped and sighed as he looked at the river and noticed something odd. "Hey guys, doesn't the river look strange to you?" Ash said as what looked like a bit of blood was going down the river. "It looks like blood to me." Brock said. "But that means something's hurt." Ash said as he ran in the direction of the blood. Brock and Dawn followed him.
After a few minutes of running, they saw a Pokemon lying on the river bank. Running up, they saw it was a Buizel. Scratches covered its body as it struggled to move. Ash kneeled next to it and tried to pick the Pokemon up. It looked at him and growled weakly. "It's okay. I'm here to help you." Ash said as he picked up the Buizel. It then tried to attack him with scratch attacks, but wasn't doing very well. "Whoa, hold on there." Ash said as he held the Buizel at arms length. The Buizel then bit Ash's hand. "Ouch!" Ash said as he gritted his teeth together in pain. Then the Water type passed out in his hands. "Brock, is there anything you can do to help it?" Ash asked as Brock had a worried look. "I'm afraid not. We have to get it to a Pokemon Center right away." Brock said. "Okay. Me and Brock will pack everything in the camp and join you as soon as we can." Dawn said as she and Brock headed towards their stuff. Ash, with Pikachu in tow, ran towards the nearest Pokemon Center. "Hang in there, Buizel." Ash thought as they ran.
After several hours, a breathless Ash ran into the Pokemon Center. "Nurse Joy, we need your help!" Ash said. "What happened?" the Nurse asked as she ran towards Ash. "I found this Pokemon lying on a river bed like this." Ash said. The Nurse took the Buizel out of Ash's arms. "We will do what we can. Please wait here." the Nurse said as she took the weakened Pokemon into the emergency room. Brock and Dawn arrived a few minutes later.
"I hope that Buizel will make it." Brock said as they waited. "Me too." Dawn added. Ash just looked at the door, wondering what the news would be. After a while, the light turned off as Nurse Joy walked out. "How is Buizel?" Ash asked as he jumped to his feet. "Buizel is going to be just fine. You got her here just in time." Nurse Joy said. "Wait...it's a girl?" Ash asked. "Yes, Buizel is a female." Nurse Joy said.
Later that night, Ash could not sleep as he was still worried about the Buizel. Getting up, he snuck through the Pokemon Center to where Buizel was recovering. He looked through the glass and noticed that she was not there. "Nurse Joy! We've got a problem!" Ash shouted. Nurse Joy ran into the room Ash was in. "What is it?" she asked. Ash just pointed and Nurse Joy gasped. "She must have not wanted help from humans and ran away." the Nurse said. "We must find her. Nurse Joy, can you wake my friends up?" Ash asked as he ran out of the Pokemon Center.
Ash had run for several minutes when he heard a scream of pain. He ran towards the sound and saw a Fearow flying above the Buizel. Ash quickly ran forward and grabbed Buizel and fled. The Fearow, who was not amused with this interference, followed. Buizel looked up at Ash and felt a feeling she had not felt before as she looked at the human that was risking his life to save her. Ash ran on as the bird Pokemon dived in for a Drill Peck attack. A Thunder attack hit the bird Pokemon as Pikachu appeared. "Pikachu, use Thunder again!" Ash shouted as his best friend let loose another Thunder attack. The Fearow weakly flew away after that. "We might as well get Buizel back to the recovery room." Nurse Joy said as they returned to the Pokemon Center.
When the sun was up, Ash and his friends were getting ready to leave. "See ya, Nurse Joy. I hope you take care of Buizel." Ash said as he got a weird feeling. Buizel looked at Ash with a sad look on her face. Ash stopped and turned around and said "Umm... Nurse Joy, do you think Buizel can come with us?" "I don't see why not." Nurse Joy said. Buizel got a happy look on her face as Ash picked her up and they walked out. "Now let's see. You need a name." Ash said. Buizel looked up at Ash with a confused look. After thinking for a while, Ash said "How would you like to be called Marina?" Marina let out a happy noise. "Marina it is then." Ash said as he and his friends walked off. Ash didn't know it yet, but his future will face many new dangers.
