Chapter 3
CHAPTER 3 BATTLE AGAINST TEAM ROCKET
Ash and Marina stood facing James, who then pulled out a Poke ball and threw it into the air. "Cacnea, I choose you!" James said. The Pokémon appeared ready for battle. "Careful Marina. That's a Grass type. Water attacks won't work on it." Ash said to Marina. "Thanks for the heads up." Marina replied. "Wait, we don't know any attacks Marina can use." Brock said. "Well, I know Sonic Boom, Slash, Aqua Jet and Iron Tail, among others." Marina said. "We haven't got all day, Twerp!" James yelled as he waited.
"We're ready now!" Ash said as he looked at Team Rocket. "Cacnea, Pin Missile!" James shouted as the Pokémon obeyed. "Marina, dodge!" Ash said as Marina jumped out of the way of the attack. "Cacnea, Needle Arm now!" James said as the Pokémon ran up towards Marina. When the Pokémon was in the right position, Ash shouted out "Marina use Slash now!" Marina jumped and used the attack. Cacnea stumbled back a bit, the claw marks on his face stinging. "Marina, Sonic Boom!" Ash said as Marina used the attack. "Cacnea, don't give up!" James said. Cacnea got back up, his ears still ringing.
"Good job, now use Needle Arm again!" James said. This time Marina wasn't so lucky and the attack hit her. James laughed and said "Now, use Pin Missile again." The Pin Missiles hit Marina as she tried to get up. She let out a cry of pain as she fell to the ground again. "Cacnea, finish it up with another Needle Arm!" James said. As his trusted Pokémon ran up to deliver the finishing blow, "Marina, Iron Tail now!" Ash shouted. Marina got up and dodged the attack. Her tails glowed as she hit the attack on Cacnea. She followed up with a Sonic Boom and a Slash attack. After the deadly combo struck, Cacnea collapsed. "No, Cacnea!" James groaned as he returned the Pokémon to its Poke Ball. "Step aside, James and I'll show you how it's done." Jessie said as she took the place James was standing.
"Seviper I choose you!" Jessie said as she released the snake Pokémon. "Marina, Slash now!" Ash said. "Seviper, Wrap it now!" Jessie commanded as the Snake Pokémon wrapped up Marina in its coils. Marina screamed as Seviper tightened its hold on her. "Ash, you've got to do something!" Brock shouted. "I know, but what?!" Ash yelled as he tried to think of a way to get Marina out of this. Marina then thrust her claws into the body as she used a Slash attack on Seviper, who finally released its grip.
"Marina, are you okay?" Ash asked. "Yeah. Now we might as well keep your mind on the battle." Marina said. "Okay. Marina, use Aqua Jet." Ash said as Marina used the water tackle on Seviper. Marina then followed up with a Sonic Boom and a Slash attack. "Seviper, Poison Tail!" Jessie said. Seviper's tail glowed purple and hit Marina hard. Marina fell to the ground again, but groaned as she got back up. "Seviper, use Poison Fang!" Jessie shouted as Seviper lunged forward. "Marina, use Slash again!" Ash said as Marina landed the attack on Seviper. "Seviper, don't give up! Use another Poison Tail!" Jessie said. "Marina, dodge and use Slash and Iron Tail!" Ash said. Marina jumped out of the way of the attack and landed both of hers. She then followed up with an Aqua Jet. Seviper passed out after the water attack hit. Before James and Jessie could send their other Pokémon out, Ash shouted "Pikachu, use Thunder! Get them outta here!" Pikachu let the attack loose, hitting Team Rocket. An explosion sent them flying away. "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" they shouted as they flew into the distance.
"We did it, Ash!" Marina shouted. She then jumped into Ash's arms as they cheered. Buizel, who was still out of his Poke Ball just looked at the two of them. He had to make sure Marina fell in love with him. They all returned to their camp site, unaware that a small robot with a camera on it was spying on them.
Deep in an unknown location. A group of men wearing suits watched the screen. "It looks like our agents failed to kill the Buizel." one of them said. "That Buizel will die along with Ash Ketchum." another one said. "We will dispatch another group of agents to kill the Buizel." another man added. "But will we be able to prevent the disaster that was predicted?" The man at the end of the table asked. "Couldn't we just separate them and not kill them?" another man proposed. "No, both must die." the man at the end of the table said.
