Chapter 3
"Lucy", she said as if to try it out, "I love it!" She then shouted throwing her arms around me. I was slightly taken aback by this sudden outburst of affection. "It was nothing really" I said blushing, I did that a lot didn't I. "Umm, you can let go now." I said noticing Lucy hadn't let go. "Hmm..." Muttered Lucy, "oh I didn't notice." She said letting go. "It's strange when I'm in contact with you I feel... safer..." she murmured almost in thought. This made me feel a bit disconcerted. "Lucy, we'd better prepare for the trip to Central City." I said trying to divert the conversation. "Oh! Right!" She said snapping back to reality. "Lets go! ... Where are we going?" I sighed, she still had a lot to learn. "To my room first, then to meet Madam Greenwood at the shuttle port, I should still have some Poke' in my room." Lucy and I set off back to my room.
After picking up some Poke', my I-Pod, named GIR, and my favourite large DJ headphone, we set off to the shuttle port. After I locked the door to my room Lucy turned to me and said, "So if your wearing those headphones I guess you wont want to talk to me..." "On the contrary," I said plugging the wireless receiver into GIR. "These headphones come apart, we can both listen to music at the same time." "Wow, can I hear some now?" Said Lucy excitedly. "Sure," I replied turning GIR on. The soundtrack to RENT was selected so I shrugged, pulled the headphones apart, and handed one piece to Lucy before putting the other piece over my ear.
I noticed Lucy was having trouble putting on the headphone so I took it and modified the band before putting it on Lucy's head, it fit and stayed on too. The first song selected was 'I'll Cover You' the moment the music hit Lucy's ears she started smiling. She soon picked up the tune and started to sway to the music before doing a small twirl on the spot and said to me, "I just love this song!" I laughed and said; "Don't make a decision before you hear the rest of the album!" "There's more!" She replied excitedly. "Sure," I said, "We can listen to as much as you like."
Anyway to cut a long part of the story short Lucy and myself arrived at the shuttle port add on two hours of The Madams non-stop speaking we arrived in central city. We had arrived at the Central Meeting Halls. On The Madams request we escorted her to the meeting hall. Once there she turned to us, "Only members are aloud in, you two should head out around town. This could take a wile I will send you a message on your PDA when I'm done." I bowed, "Very well Madam." We were about to turn when The Madam said to us "Oh yes, I should pay you. How does twenty K sound?" My jaw pretty much hit the floor.
After leaving with our 'earnings' we set off to the market. While walking through the market the vendors where shouting out for their items, "Pancakes, I got pancakes!", "Tee-shirts, right here!" "Video games, for all you addicts! Just got the new Devil May Cry!!!" "Wow." said Lucy, "this is all so much" I just smiled at her I don't talk much while out and about. "Jewellery and Weapons! Hey, Sir, how about something sharp for you and something pretty for your girlfriend!" It took me a moment to realize he was talking to me. I walked over to the merchant, "She's not... Ooo, what's that?" I said looking at a bizarre sword. It had a long blade, at least 49" and the black steel two-handed handle was adorned with skulls and spikes. Meanwhile Lucy was looking at the jewellery.
The merchant looked at my choice, "An interesting choice, sir, this blade has no name, it's a hand-and-a-half handle-wise but has a long blade." I was still looking at it when Lucy came over. "Dante, look at this!" she was holding a necklace, it was very nice, a disk cut piece of moonstone that shimmed in the light. "Wonderful," I said I then looked between her and the sword before sighing "I'll take....... The necklace." Lucy was stunned as I took out my cash wad and paid the man.
Lucy looked at me and then the necklace still stunned. I walked over to her, then around. I took the strings of the necklace and fixed them around her neck. It held right above her spike and looked really good, I mean I can't begin to describe how beautiful she looked at that moment. She tilted her head down and I could see tears falling from her eyes. I quickly moved over to her and said to her; "what's the matter, don't you like the necklace?" "She looked up at me and replied "I love it Dante! It's just... no ones ever been this nice to me ever!" She then through her arms around me crying quietly onto my shoulder. I then whispered into her ear "Don't worry Lucy, no matter what's happened in your past I'll always be there for you." This moment didn't last long though because the alarm bells went off, Shadows where approaching.
When Shadow Pokêmon attack its every able fighters duty to battle. When this law was passed many were up in arms appose to it, but scientists proved that Shadows, as they dubbed them, weren't in fact Pokêmon but beings from an other dimension that took the form of Pokêmon to blend in. They didn't do it well though, there were always demonic differences. I mean they always look evil. Most Shadow attacks were led by a particularly tough leader or a 'Spoke' were are easy to spot as they were up to five times bigger than normal.
I let go of Lucy and climbed onto the top of a wooden stand and shouted out to crowd who were starting to panic. "Alright you know the drill, Into the nearest building if you're a civilian and if you a trained fighter then get ready!" The street was soon empty leaving myself Lucy and a female Blaziken in a black suit and tie who walked over. "You a fighter?" I asked her. "Yep," she replied, "Names Veronica, but you can call me Vicki, sweetie!" No time to be embarrassed, I turned to Lucy. "Good to see you want to fight." I checked the surrounding, lots of three storied building. I looked at Lucy, "do you think you could get to the top of that building, Lucarios' are very agile and we need someone to see what's coming for us." "Right!" She said taking a few steps back to get a run up. Lucy may have needed to learn more, but when it came to skills her Lucario blood took over.
Lucy took a run up, jumped, then ran up the wall; reaching the top within seconds. She looked around then shouted down, "I see a swarm of things, I don't know what though." "Damn, that's gonna be tough to fight without a weapon..... Unless!" I looked for the stand where the swords were and sure enough, the blade I had been eyeing was still there. I jumped off the stand, ran over and grabbed the sword. "Wait right there," I shouted to Lucy, "We'll be right up!" "How are you gonna get up here?" Shouted Lucy. Vicki then spoke up, "I can carry him." She walked over and took my hand, but as soon as she did an electric shock more powerful than the one with Lucy made us both jump. Only it wasn't a normal jump it was twice as far and twice as high. As soon as I landed and saw how far I had jumped I couldn't help but mutter, "Holy shit!" I then looked up the wall and thought to my self 'I wonder if lighting strikes twice...'
I crouched and sprang into the air flying up, up and right onto the top of the building. I looked right at the swarm, it was a huge amount of Shadow Beedrill led by a Vespiquen Spoke. Lucy and Vicki had joined me to look and Lucy said "How are we to get to them?" I turned to them both "Okay, we need a plan. They are most likely headed for the power plant. We need to intercept them." As I thought this a smile spread over my face, this was gonna be fun!

As we all jumped from building to building I couldn't help but think how brilliant it felt to be soaring over the streets approaching battle. That mood soon changed when we met the first wave of Shadow Beedrill. As they came toward us Vicki pulled out two Blaze-Guns, a Blaziken specific weapon that works like a heat gun, I readied my sword, and Lucy with her Lucario blood still in full effect sent aura to her now balled fists. As the Beedill came closer Vicki started shooting and me and Lucy lunged at them.
They were fast but we were faster, dodging, weaving, slashing, ducking, punching, and shooting. The first wave went down without a hitch and the second wave came in from the top. I saw this and shouted "Lucy if I can get you up there, could you get them?" She nodded, I jumped ahead and put my blade ready. She jumped onto the blade and because of the flexible properties of the blade she was shot into the air. Where she proceeded to pummel the approaching beedrill. This was the first, but not last time, I felt a lot of affection and attraction to the Lucario girl. When she landed we continued ASAP.
Wave after wave came, and wave after wave was taken down. Before too long we had a good look at the Spoke. We all stopped and looked at it, it was still moving toward the power plant. "How are we gonna get it?" Asked Lucy. I thought for a moment, we didn't have much time. Thinking on my feet I said, "Lucy, spin me and throw me to it!" Lucy and Vicki just looked at me with a look of complete disbelief and said, "What!?!?" "Just do it" I shouted "we don't have much time!" Lucy grabbed my hand and started to spin me around and them threw me at it at great speed. This is what got me though, time seemed to slow down as I flew at it. I was right over head of it. "Oh shit! Lucy over shot me!!!!" I thought. Still thinking on my feet I hurled .y sword like a javelin and it when right in the head of the monster. That was enough to annoy it but not to kill it. "Oh fuck!" shouted Vicki. "We gotta do something!" She was thinking on her feet because she then threw one her guns to me I caught it and then shot it right at the blade!
It worked! The shot caused the blade to shoot down with force. As it did I shouted in joy, "JACKPOT!!!!" The Spoke then exploded in a burst of black goo. I landed on the other side on a building and then jumped down to the ground and retrieved my blade. I jumped back up onto the building with Lucy and Vicki who were ecstatic on our victory. Ten minutes or so later we had arrived back at the market. People had emerged from the buildings and were looking toward me.
I smiled and said, "The Spoke is eliminated, you're all safe!"
All the people instantly burst into applause and cheers, we were heroes!
