Story Notes:
This story is a continuation of Story of a Boy and His Mate. I tried to get more people to write for the filler stories between breaks, but only one person rose to the call. So now, that one person will have their Pokemon added to this story. Seikiru, Ember will be a valuable asset to the team. Sorry if she seems out of character, but I just use the excuse that 3 years with Dustin has changed her quite a bit.
Back to the Life
Hey, everyone! Majinonifox1 here! I'm so glad that I got the chance to have at least one new addition to Dustin's team. I'm going to have the same exact team as in Ember's Tale, so be ready for that.
It's been a long time since I got this story upward. I hope you all didn't go try to kill yourselves from not having this story continue. That would just be horrible. So, without any further wait, here continues The Story of A Boy and His Mate.
On with the Show!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The warm sun started shining brightly on me as my eyes were forced to adjust to the change. Around me, other sounds were already reaching my ears. I casually opened one eye, and saw Ash already awake with a girl that I had never seen before.
"Ash, who's there?" I asked.
Ash turned his head and smiled. "Morning, sleeping beauty. Sylvia went out for some water. She said she'd be right back."
"Okay, but that doesn't answer my question. Who is that with you?"
Ash just smiled and kissed the girl so serenely, it was as if Sylvia and I were kissing. I then got who it was. "So, you're May. The Contest Battler."
They broke the kiss and May said "That's me. Nice to meet you, Dustin Lomax."
I got up and stretched. Three years had passed since anything exciting happened. Ember had a run in with a gang of dogs that raped her. Thank God that she didn't get pregnant. And since then, her and Rein have really bonded. In fact...
I turned over a bit, and sure enough, there were Rein and Ember. They looked so peaceful sleeping like that, so I stood up quietly without disturbing either of them. However, as I stood up, both Ash and May had a giggling fit.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"Well," May piped up. "I'm just wondering how you don't seem to have remembered what you did last night, I'm guessing."
I thought about it for a minute. I remembered last night. Sylvia and I had the time of our lives. She grabbed me and threw me into the tent, ripped my clothes clean off...
I looked down. The embarrassment was plain on my face. I quickly thought and fur covered my entire body. Oh yeah. I had gotten in some practice in the last 3 years. Just wait til you see me battle.
"Whoa!" May was startled by the sudden appearance of fur on my body.
Ash just laughed. "I forgot to tell you. Dustin has Dustario Syndrome. In fact, he was the one who it was named after."
"Really?" She asked.
"Yep!" I replied. "I bet you've got a whole bunch of questions for me."
"Actually, I have no clue what you guys are even talking about!"
Ash and I both performed a classic Anime Face Fall.
May rubbed the backside of her head in embarrassment and said "So, Dustario. What is that?"
I took my usual 10 minutes to explain how it worked, then another 10 minutes showing her what all I could do with my abilities. After I finished, Sylvia returned with a gigantic bundle of wood in her arms, followed by Luna with an equally large bundle in her arms. "Wow. You girls sure went all out on the wood!"
"Nah, there was a gigantic stock of the stuff over there." Luna pointed as she said that. As soon as she pointed, though, another figure came out of the woods. This one was human, but there was a Glaceon with him.
"Hey, is one of you Dustin Lomax?" The human asked.
"I am." I replied. "Do you ask for a battle?"
The boy looked at me with a weird look, but something surprised me. "The boy is part Lucario, Brandon."
The Glaceon spoke, not the human. I stood there with my jaw dropped.
Then, the human named Brandon spoke. "I guess you're wondering how Frost can speak."
At the name Frost, there was a shout, then a Flamethrower thrown into the air, then Ember dashing up to the front of me. In all the 3 years that we were travelling, I had gotten around to teaching Ember English. It shouldn't have surprised me that other trainers were teaching their Pokemon English. After all, most of them wanted to be able to communicate with their Pokemon. "It's been a while, Frost!" Ember called out.
Frost tilted his head. "Do I... know you?" He asked.
"You remember me as an Eevee with a destiny already set in Fire Stone. I guess it was the same for you. It's Ember." She added when she saw the puzzled face of Frost.
Frost's eyes lit up. "That's really you, Ember? Wow, you sure have changed!"
"3 years of battling experience will do that for someone! So how about it? You and me, just like old times!"
Frost smiled. "You're on, baby sister!"
Ember smiled. "Dustin, please let me fight. I really want to show Frost how great I've become!"
I smiled. "I don't see a problem with it! Have at him!"
Frost turned to Brandon. "Please let me fight this out on my own."
Brandon smiled. "She's all yours. Just make sure to leave some of yourself for me too." Brandon added the last part with a wink. He then stepped in front of me. "Have you ever heard of the Pokéja?"
I tilted my head. "Uhh... Poke-wha?"
"Pokéja. Pokemon Ninja."
My mind flashed back to Ninjas on TV that could use Pokemon Abilities. "I've heard of them. What about them?"
"Well, you seem to have some Pokemon DNA in you, so do you want to duke it out with me?"
I smiled. This fool didn't have any idea what he was up against. "Sure! A warm-up will help keep me fit for whatever may come our way."
Brandon smiled and dashed at me with almost blinding speed. But, not fast enough. I saw his movements easily and counteracted. He was gasping for air, as I had hit him in the gut.
He wheezed out "Lucky shot." He jumped back then and... this scared me. His arm started to glow bright white. Now, I knew a few Pokemon attacks that could be done that would look like that. He could be using Bullet Punch; he could be using Mega Punch...
He wasn't using any of those. I knew that as soon as he threw his Razor Wind at me. It was an attack that was befitting an Absol. As I realized this, I was almost too late to dodge. However, I realized it just soon enough, and got out of the way in the nick of time. Literally. He took a nick off of my cheek. It was bleeding, but not too badly to be worrying about it. I figured 'If he's using Pokemon attacks, why not me?' I then focused intently. My right arm was glowing a bright green, while my left one was ready with something pretty dangerous. I ran at him with all my speed, and struck with my left, a Vital Throw. Then, I hit him with a Drain Punch. This caused the attack to be a direct hit, and his life force was drained into me. My cut was instantly healed and I smiled. "Ready to give in yet?"
I then felt something to my side. A hard freezing tackling attack. I didn't feel it in my side; it was only to my side. I looked over. Frost's body was being covered in a hard case of Ice. This was something I had never seen before. I was intrigued. I wanted to know what this move did and figure out if any of my family could learn it, especially Zachary.
(Flashback)
"So how did you know I could use all those attacks?"
We were sitting on a bench outside the Pokemon Center in Vermillion City. He wouldn't let the issue slide.
"Well, like I told you. I read your mind and felt the attacks that you could do."
"Nu-huh. No way. There is no way in hell that you could know about Psywave."
I blushed. "Well, I read a bit into your past, and saw Doug teaching it to you, as well as using some Psychic Abilities he had to give you the ability to learn any attack you could see."
This time, Zachary blushed. "I should have realized you had that ability."
"I don't. I just guessed, and you told me. Thanks a lot!" I smiled and patted Zachary's back. I then stood up and left for the hotel, leaving Zachary sitting there with a gaping mouth.
(End Flashback)
As soon as Frost was completely covered in Ice, he ran as fast as he could at me. It was easy enough to dodge, but as I did, the frigid air around the attack caught me, and I stopped dead, feeling extremely cold. I couldn't move. I was frozen in place somehow. There was no Ice anywhere around me. Yet, I felt cold. So cold, I wasn't able to keep my breathing steady.
Luckily, Sylvia was there and she ran to my side and said "Enough! Stop fighting!" She said this with a scared tone. She then directed her mind to mine. 'Are you alright?'
'A bit cold, but I'm alright, except for the fact that I can't move a single bone in my body.' I replied.
She smiled and placed her hands on my back. As she did so, I felt instant relief and could move my joints again.
Frost came over and gave me a dirty look. "Don't touch my mate again. Do you hear me?"
The voice he gave me scared me a lot. I wasn't the least bit worried that he had said not to touch his... Wait. Mate?
"Your- mate?" I said through frigid vocal chords.
"Yes. Brandon and I are in love." To prove this, he walked over to Brandon and licked his lips. As he did so, Brandon shot back to life.
"Mmm. Now there's a wakeup call to raise the dead." He then kissed Frost and I could tell it was love.
Not wanting to be outdone, as soon as my body was movable, I reached my head up and kissed the one I loved.
She was surprised, but returned the kiss nonetheless. Boy, what a show it was.
I didn't realize that the whole family was watching what we were doing intently. As soon as I heard "Get a room, daddy!" coming from my son's mouth, I broke the kiss and looked around.
There was Zachary, Aren, Peachy, Luna, Mar, Rein and Ember. Rein was next to Ember, hiding behind her right foreleg.
"I'd hold up on that sort of behavior, Dustin. You've got little ones here." Zachary spoke.
I blushed. This wasn't normally something I'd do in the general view of the public, and especially not in front of total strangers. "Sorry about that." I said defeated.
Frost and Brandon had already stopped their kiss. "It's fine by us. You two are in love like we are!" Brandon said.
"Well, it was a great battle. Shall we say it was a draw?" Ember asked.
"We shall for now, baby sister." Frost said.
"Thank you for the battle, Brandon. It was interesting fighting a Pokéja." I said proudly.
"No, thank you. It was an honor to fight a Half Human Half Lucario such as yourself. I would give a warning, though."
I looked at Brandon. "And what is that, Brandon?"
"There have been some shady looking characters looking for someone with your abilities. Just be careful."
I smiled. "I don't think I'll have any problem with anybody that wishes to harm us. We'll be fine."
"Okay," Brandon said. "Only a warning." And with that, he and Frost left.
I hadn't fought like that in a long time, and it felt great. I felt more alive than I had in a year, when I had fought Aren again when we got to this forsaken place.
The Orre Region. A place that had no Pokemon in the wild. It really was a barren place, as there was very little water. I was surprised May had decided to become a Contest Battler in this Region. There aren't any new Pokemon, and there didn't seem to be many contest halls close. In fact, this place was the only place with any sort of water for miles. We only stopped here because there were trees. Trees meant that water had to be somewhere, and if there was water, there was a possible way to survive. However...
"So, Hun," I started off. "No go on the water?"
Sylvia just shook her head. "Nowhere. There was a spot that looked as if it did hold water, but there isn't anymore now. I'm surprised these trees stay this green without the nourishment of both sun and water."
I was puzzled as well. This place should be by all means desolate, and barren, just like the rest of the Region. In fact, there was only one source of water, and it was the first town we had reached. It was a long time back, and I couldn't remember the name of it. Darn my lousy memory.
Then, something in my mind clicked, and I was glad I remembered about my horrible memory. I looked around, and spotted Mar. I directed my thoughts to him. 'You ready, kiddo?'
'You bet, daddy.' "Momma, can you take me out to train somewhere quiet, please?"
"Ask your father, dear." She said. Just as I thought she would.
"But, I want to train with you! Pleeeease?" He gave his cute puppy pout face. It was cute, I'll admit. Then again, I was the one who taught it to him.
She gave in. "Alright. Let's go." She said and walked off into the trees.
"YAY!" He ran off after her and said to me in my mind 'Make sure it's a great one!'
'You bet. And for that display, you get a whole German Chocolate Cake to yourself.'
'THANK YOU, DADDY!' I could feel the enthusiasm in his mind, and it was almost overpowering.
As soon as Sylvia and Mar were out of earshot, Luna popped out "So, what's the plan?"
Even though I forgot past places, I remembered future places. "Our next stop is Agate Village. I've already cast my Aura out to there, and was able to get a hold of the Village Leader there. Wes, I think his name was. Nice guy. Anyway, he and his wife were more than happy to help us with this. So, they're gonna be ready at the gate of Agate, waiting to surprise us. Well, more likely Sylvia. After that, I can tell what is gonna happen. Sylvia's gonna faint, and somebody's gonna have to catch her."
"I'll stay behind her." Luna piped up.
"Good. Then, we need a wakeup crew."
"No good wakeup like a good zap!" Peachy said.
"Okay and she'll need a friendly face that she is not gonna slap. So, I'm out."
"How bout me?" Aren asked. It was a bit hard, but we taught him English.
"You might do it. Okay, everyone. We're good." 'Mar, pretend to be tired out. If she asks why, just say you don't know. That you had a whole bunch of Energy Drinks to keep yourself active.'
'Can do, daddy.' There was silence for a minute, then, 'We're on our way back. Mommy's a bit mad at you.'
'Why's she mad, Mar?'
'She got mad as soon as I said Energy Drink.'
Crap. Should have thought that through.
Yeah, you should have.
Hey, haven't talked to you in a while.
Yeah, you've been good at keeping yourself out of trouble. But, something's wrong. I can sense it.
What do you mean?
Suddenly, there was a scream. It was a female scream.
"SYLVIA!" I ran as fast as I could, and got there just tin time to see a goon in black running off, and Sylvia knocked out on the ground. I ran up to her and picked her up. Her Aura was still steady, which meant she was alright. "Sylvia, wake up. Wake up, love." 'Wake up, love. What happened?'
She wouldn't wake up, but her mind was still good. 'For some reason, I can't move my body. It's like I'm sleeping, but I want to be awake.'
'That goon must have done something. Where's Mar?'
'I don't know. I screamed, and then I blacked out. Do me a favor and open one of my eyes for me.'
I delicately used Aura to lift an eyelid for her. 'Can you see through it?'
'Yes. It's blurry, but I can see out of it. But, I still can't move.'
I released the Aura, and let the eye droop. 'Then I'll carry you back, but first, we've gotta find Mar.'
There was a cry in my mind. Faint, but it was there. 'DADDY! BAD MAN IN BLACK GRABBED ME!'
A look of pure horror hit my face. 'Did you hear that?' I asked Sylvia.
'I'm still connected to your mind. No duh I heard it.'
I picked her up and draped her across my back. 'Hang on. Oops.'
'Very funny.'
I ran as fast as I could to the campsite, where Ash and May had already gotten everything packed up. As I ran in, Ash asked "So what's going on?"
"Someone took Mar." I responded hurriedly.
There was a look of shock from Ash and May. "Well, that's awful! By who?"
"I don't know. They were wearing black. That's all I know."
Ash thought about it. "Well, you need to get somewhere fast. And you can't do that with us around."
I smiled. "Guess this is goodbye, then?"
"Oh, hardly." May said. "We'll see each other again. Don't worry."
I smiled again. "Alright, then. Seeya around." 'Ready, hun?'
'As I'll ever be.'
I took one step, and I was gone.
~*~
"LET ME GO!"
I was struggling as hard as I could, but this guy had me tight.
"No way! Do you know how much you're worth to Cipher? You're gonna be our meal ticket to understanding Pokemon, and getting their hearts closed forever!"
I got a look of horror on my face. A Pokémon having their heart closed? That's barbaric! No Pokémon would do it! Unless...
'Dear Arceus, help me! He is gonna close my heart!'
So, what do you think of my first chapter in a long time? I know, I might be a bit rusty, but who's perfect? Nobody. So, get off my back about it.
Before you ask, I am basing most of this off of Pokémon Coliseum and Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness. More familiar parts will be added as the story progresses.
Til next time, this is Majinonifox1, signing out.Chapter End Notes:Hope it was to everyone's liking. Read, rate, and review
'Why's she mad, Mar?'
'She got mad as soon as I said Energy Drink.'
Crap. Should have thought that through.
Yeah, you should have.
Hey, haven't talked to you in a while.
Yeah, you've been good at keeping yourself out of trouble. But, something's wrong. I can sense it.
What do you mean?
Suddenly, there was a scream. It was a female scream.
"SYLVIA!" I ran as fast as I could, and got there just tin time to see a goon in black running off, and Sylvia knocked out on the ground. I ran up to her and picked her up. Her Aura was still steady, which meant she was alright. "Sylvia, wake up. Wake up, love." 'Wake up, love. What happened?'
She wouldn't wake up, but her mind was still good. 'For some reason, I can't move my body. It's like I'm sleeping, but I want to be awake.'
'That goon must have done something. Where's Mar?'
'I don't know. I screamed, and then I blacked out. Do me a favor and open one of my eyes for me.'
I delicately used Aura to lift an eyelid for her. 'Can you see through it?'
'Yes. It's blurry, but I can see out of it. But, I still can't move.'
I released the Aura, and let the eye droop. 'Then I'll carry you back, but first, we've gotta find Mar.'
There was a cry in my mind. Faint, but it was there. 'DADDY! BAD MAN IN BLACK GRABBED ME!'
A look of pure horror hit my face. 'Did you hear that?' I asked Sylvia.
'I'm still connected to your mind. No duh I heard it.'
I picked her up and draped her across my back. 'Hang on. Oops.'
'Very funny.'
I ran as fast as I could to the campsite, where Ash and May had already gotten everything packed up. As I ran in, Ash asked "So what's going on?"
"Someone took Mar." I responded hurriedly.
There was a look of shock from Ash and May. "Well, that's awful! By who?"
"I don't know. They were wearing black. That's all I know."
Ash thought about it. "Well, you need to get somewhere fast. And you can't do that with us around."
I smiled. "Guess this is goodbye, then?"
"Oh, hardly." May said. "We'll see each other again. Don't worry."
I smiled again. "Alright, then. Seeya around." 'Ready, hun?'
'As I'll ever be.'
I took one step, and I was gone.
"LET ME GO!"
I was struggling as hard as I could, but this guy had me tight.
"No way! Do you know how much you're worth to Cipher? You're gonna be our meal ticket to understanding Pokemon, and getting their hearts closed forever!"
I got a look of horror on my face. A Pokémon having their heart closed? That's barbaric! No Pokémon would do it! Unless...
'Dear Arceus, help me! He is gonna close my heart!'
So, what do you think of my first chapter in a long time? I know, I might be a bit rusty, but who's perfect? Nobody. So, get off my back about it.
Before you ask, I am basing most of this off of Pokémon Coliseum and Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness. More familiar parts will be added as the story progresses.
Til next time, this is Majinonifox1, signing out.Chapter End Notes:Hope it was to everyone's liking. Read, rate, and review
