Chapter 3
Bob suggested that we split up to search for Jack to make it easier and so we separated for the time being. After covering every square inch of the place, I decided he wasn't in the city. He wasn't even in the bar which kind of surprised me. As I was about to phone Bob tot tell him to meet up with me, I noticed someone going down the alley that lead to the back of the bar. The figure was wearing a hooded cloak which made it difficult to make out who it was. After seeing me out of the corner of their eye, they turned around and glanced at me. In the few seconds the figure looked at me, I managed to make out that it was a woman but then she fled down the alley. Out of curiosity, I followed her to find out why she ran. I chased her around a corner and reached a dead end. After I had turned the corner, I had lost her. I couldn't figure out where she went and decided to give up.
"I wander who that was."
I said to myself before taking out my phone. As I reached into my pocket for my phone, something whistled past my head. I turned around and saw a kunai stuck into the wall behind me. I approached it to find that there was a note attached to it. It read,
"Don't follow me. You'll regret it."
Of course, that just encouraged me to follow her even further. I put the kunai and the note in my pocket and took out my phone. I called Bob and told him to meet me by the bar and so he did. I told him about that strange woman who I had chased earlier.
"Well, Gill it sounds like she doesn't want to be followed. We should just ignore her, for now at least."
I nodded and Bob began to speak again.
"I've been thinking and I think we'd better go and face the music."
Slightly confused, I replied.
"What do you mean?"
"I think we should go to our Lucario friend's house and see if she's still mad."
I nodded in response.
"I think you're right but if she is, she'll freaking murder us. And I'll bet she has Mammoth on a leash or something."
He shook his head.
"No, knowing her, she took care of him for a while and let him go."
"I hope you're right, Bob."
We headed back to the village and walked through until we came to the entrance of the forest where our friend dwelled, just behind my house. I turned to Bob and said,
"You ready for this?"
"Yeah, you?"
"Yeah, I need a wee first."
I ran into my house and had a wee for about three bloody minutes. I went back out side and we took a deep breath and then entered the forest.
We walked for about five minutes and we were nearly there when we saw two cloaked figures. They spotted us as we spotted them. Before I could say anything to Bob, one of them shouted,
"I told you not to follow me!"
Needless to say, I completely regretted coming back to the forest tonight of all nights. I said back to her,
"We're lost. We'll just be going now."
We both turned around, hoping that they would just let us go but of coerce, that never seems to work for us. She shouted,
"I won't have you following us anymore!"
We then turned around to see them throw their cloaks off, revealing themselves. They were a pair of Gardevoir, both female. Bob started to get worried and said to me,
"Gill, who are they? Are they going to kill us?"
"I don't know and I don't know. I wish I hadn't run into her in Heaven's Peak. I don't know if we can win."
Before anything else could be said, the one I had met once made a b-line for me while the other one made a b-line for Bob. I ran directly at my opponent without thinking of consequences, why would I do anything else? She jumped over me and landed behind me. I kind of saw it coming so I quickly turned around and threw my fist in front of me, hitting her square in the face. She fell on her ass and wiped her mouth with her hand.
"Lucky shot, you little punk!"
"Luck had nothing to do with it, bitch!"
She stood up and jumped in the air, coming down on me with a drop kick, landing her foot square in my face. I slid along the ground and stood back up, holding my face for a few seconds with one hand. Bob grabbed the one attacking me and suplexed her, slamming her head into the ground. Then, the one he was previously fighting drop kicked him in the back, knocking him down. Then, I tackled her, full force, knocking her down. Bob and the Gardevoir he knocked down both stood up and she span around and kicked him in the face, knocking him to his knees, she then kicked his face a second time, knocking him out. The second Gardevoir then stood up and they both stared at me angrily. I backed away, muttering curse words to myself before they both simultaneously kicked me in the face, knocking me out and defeating us both.
I woke up a couple of hours later in pitch black darkness. I sat upright and looked around. I saw her, the Gardevoir who I had encountered one too many times sitting on a log in front of a camp fire. Without even looking back at me she said,
"Why did you follow me?"
"I didn't. I was looking for someone else in this forest."
"Don't lie to me, human!"
I stayed silent for a few seconds, not knowing what to do and she yelled again.
"Talk to me, boy!"
As she yelled, I covered my ears as I had a slight headache and said,
"I've told you the truth. I swear."
She stood up and walked over to me. Without standing, I moved backwards along the ground. I failed to move away from her and she grabbed me by the shirt, pulling me so that I was face-to-face with her.
"Don't think I don't know who you are, Gill. You won't stop us this time. I would kill you right now if Giovanni didn't want you alive first. Not being able to believe what she was saying, I stayed silent for a few seconds before she spoke again.
"Yes, he is alive and there is no way you'll win this time. I can destroy you before you can blink. Now come with me!"
Of coerce, I wasn't going to go with her, so I did what I would in almost any situation. I grabbed a rock about the size of my palm and slammed it on top of her foot, crushing it. She screamed and fell backwards, hitting the floor. Not giving her time to recover, I moved over to her and knelt beside her with the rock raised in the air. I saw that little look of fear on her face before I brought the rock down, smashing her face with it. She screamed as she bled and I stood up and finished it by stamping on her head, smashing it open. Needless to say, the mess was enough to make almost anyone vomit.
I took a breather for a minute or so and heard the sounds of someone being chased by a psychopath. I looked behind me and saw Bob running towards me. Thankfully, I still had the rock in my hand. As he approached me, he screamed,
"Gill! Fucking run!"
He ran past me and I saw the second Gardevoir running towards me. Her face was covered in blood and she had a freakishly evil smile on her face with a knife raised in the air. Despite all this, I stayed calm and took a deep breath. As she started to get close, I threw the rock and landed it square in her face, forcing her into a back flip and landing face-down on the ground. This finished her off, causing her face to bleed badly as she lay unconscious. I didn't ask Bob what happened but I'm guessing he resisted like I did and roughed her up a bit before she pulled the knife out and ran at him. I looked at Bob and said,
"Let's just get the hell out of here."
He nodded and we set out to find an exit to the forest. I didn't take us long, thankfully. We went home got some sleep.
