Episode 041
"If You Want to Live"
By Darfix
After the cruel joke that had in actual fact added more turmoil to the Eevee's current situation, Darfix found himself entering deeper into the forest as all of the events from the passing days unfolded within his realm of reflection so that he might attempt to work out a logical solution to the issues. Mainly, he was trying to focus on cementing his relationship with Destiny, while at the same time, satisfying this apparent itching attraction to multiple females. To come up with something that satisfied all of those objectives would be next to impossible.
But to even be able to think hard on the issue, he would surely need to be alone, or almost aloneâ"which so far proved to be a fruitless attempt. Hopefully now, he would gain what he longed for.
Meanwhile, Konya was coming too back at Kyotsu's den, discovering herself sleeping closely to the male's sister, Subaki. Konya rises to all fours, lifting her hind section and giving her tail a flick while stretching out her fore quarters. The commotion gently stirs Subaki, but not enough to wake her it seems.
Konya soon sits her tush down on the ground, one of her fore paws clasping her tummy as it rumbles. It seems she had grown quite hungry through the night. Seeing as how Subaki was asleep, she would have to go out on her own. Kyotsu's parents had gone out to get breakfast, and Kyotsu and Litivia were out enjoying each other's company.
Boldly after a gentle sigh, Konya stands up onto all fours and hesitantly makes her way out of the den.
She had never hunted before, but she had spent a great deal of time foraging for berries at her old area of residence. While she was younger, she was made to go get food for Zathan and Jamuga's temple. So, this would be little, to no problem for her.
She pokes her head out of the den, glancing from left to right to make sure no one was watching. After confirming that there seemed to be no predators, she playfully pads over to a nearby bush, filled with Pecha berries.
The bush was kind of high for her, thus she adapts a method of standing on her hind legs and hanging onto the branch as best she can, shaking it until some of the berries fall. Before long she has herself a few berries on the floor. She descends from her vertical position to bend down and enjoy her breakfast. Little did she know there were indeed eyes on her...
The young fem Eevee begins to feast on the succulent berries, murring as she feels the juicy liquid slide down her throat. Her tail even begins to wag a little, catching the attention of the individuals who were spying on her.
Stepping up behind her was none other than Siozu and a couple of his compadres. Surely they had nothing but nasty thoughts on their minds as they approached the juvenile Eevee.
Konya was in her own joyful world, thus she did not hear them approaching until it was too late. A twig snaps behind herâ"causing her to turn her head and look. She was flanked, Siozu behind her, and his two comrades on her flanks. She swallows the remains of the berry she had in her muzzle and stands, clearing her throat.
Siozu smiles a bit, "You're one of those who came with that new pack, right? I must admit, you guys sure brought a lot of pretty girls with you," the male Vulpix compliments with a wicked grin.
Konya is still quietâ"noting a significant similarity between him and Jamuga.
"I couldn't help but admire you as well, miss. Can I ask you for your name?" Siozu asks, giving his head a slight tilt.
Konya had failed to lick some of the juices from her muzzle and Siozu noticed this. His eyes, in fact, were on this display while she tried to find the boldness to respond to him.
"Konyaâ""
"Konya is it? That's a pretty name...isn't it?" he asks to his two friends. Both of them smile and nod, chuckling just a little bit. "...aren't you going to ask for my name, little Konya?"
Konya by now is beginning to feel very nervous and still running on a fairly empty tummy, "...whatâ"is your name?"
"Well, my friends call me Siozuâ"you can call me master..." he responds, taking a step closer to her. He had her completely surrounded with just three Vulpixes. Her backside had a large, thick bush blocking her retreat, his friends had her flanks and he had her front. Surely, it was looking like a difficult position for the little Eevee lass.
Konya swallows again, feeling like she was about to no doubt be used, and there was nothing she could do about it. She notices this as her backside brushes up against the pointy leaves of the bush behind her. The thought of no escape and what might happen burns in her mind for a moment, causing a tear to form under her right eye.
"What's the matter?" Siozu asks as he comes close enough to touch her, "I would treat you right...and so would my friend's here...you're in good paws, Konya..."
She remains unresponsive, looking away...
"Andâ"look, you've got something on your muzzle..." he whispers, leaning in to lick it off slowly, though in an invasive manner...
Meanwhile, back at Destiny's den, Destiny is awoken suddenly, realizing now she was sleeping against nothing other than a small pile of dry grasses, not her mate. This causes the vixen to become a bit worried, though she figured, more likely than not, he just went out for a walk. All the same, she decides to investigate, just to be on the safe side.
As she steps out of her part of the den and enters the corridor leading to her parents' den, she decides to pad down the hallway quietly, aiming to see if her father was still there. It wouldn't be beneath him to have removed the Eevee one way or another.
Upon closer inspection, however, she discovers that both of her parents are sound asleep. The thought then passes her mind on how Darfix acted around Yukoni. Surely he was above doing anything with her sister, butâ"it was still worth investigation.
Apprehensively, she pokes her head into her sister's quarters, only to discover her younger kin was sound asleep and alone. At the same time she felt relief that she didn't find Darfix in there, she also felt much griefâ"that now she still needed to find him, and he most assuredly was outside...
With a bit of a sigh, she begins to walk out of the burrow, hoping that she might just pick up a fair amount of his Eevee musk and from that, get a lead on where he might be.
Eventually, Darfix' path was about to cross with Kyotsu and Litivia. Again, the Eevee is contemplating all of his woes, and is interrupted by the sounds of giggling and playful dialogue. One voice does sound a bit familiar, so he decides to get closer for a better look.
He draws near a bush overlooking the two love birds, poking his head through just enough to spot two Vulpixes necking lightly in the slight distance. Almost instantly, he is able to identify the female as Litivia. Perhaps it was best not to bother the two, but going it alone was proving to gain him nothing as it was...perhaps company would be a welcoming decision.
With a rather hesitant stride, he begins to wander on over to greet the two, of course, doing his best not to go about it in a manner that would embarrass them.
In a moment he is standing right beside them, their backs to him so they did not notice him. Darfix makes a light coughing noise as if clearing his throat, "...I don't mean to bother you twoâ""
Litivia at once snaps her head over her shoulder to have a look, expecting Siozu or some perverted Pix trying to get a peep show. She is surprised to see her Eevee savior, "Darfix! What brings you out here?" she asks with a warm smile, which seems to catch Kyotsu's attention.
"Who is this, love?" he asks, eyeing the Eevee with skepticism.
"This is Darfix, he helped rescue me from my former life style..." the vixen comments in a lowered tone, for just the thought of her past always brought slight pain.
Before Darfix can get a word in, Kyotsu has a smile on his maw, "...is that so? Well, I certainly owe you a deal of thanks, Eevee," the male fox states, offering a friendly appearance.
Before much else can be said, there is a loud cracking noise in the distance, followed by a large flock of Pidgeys and Spearows and other small birds taking flight. What on earth could that be?
The sound was loud enough for most everyone to hear, Tiasha and Niktsu, Taruno and Yurala, Konya and Siozu, you name it, they most likely heard it. Fortunately, however, one of the Pidgeys fleeing the scene had enough goodness in her heard to perch herself on a branch overlooking the three foxes. She is panting heavily from the hard flying, but manages to speak just the same, "You threeâ"better get out of here!"
"Why? What was that cracking noise just now?" Litivia asks, fearing the worst.
"Poachers!" the Pidgey cries, before taking flight and retreating from the area. Little did any of the young foxes know the area in which they resided was lightly inhabited by humans, making it actually more dangerous to a degree. Due to the lack of law and order, there were many kinds of Pokémon poachers. Those who would use their own Pokémon to hunt down wild Pokémon for capture and sale, those who hunted for the sport, and those who hunted for pelts and the like, just to name a few. Living so far out, it was hard to get PokéBalls, so most resorted to using rifles and tranquilizers. These particular poachers were hunting with their own Pokémon, which mainly consisted of Houndooms and Mightyenas for their strong senses of smell and tracking abilities. If the three stayed where they were, they would soon be picked up by one or more of the tamed beasts, resulting in a run for their lives.
"My father told me about this..." Kyotsu warns, "We NEED to head back to the herd and warn the others..." he insists, already on his way back.
Litivia is next to follow, Darfix taking up the rear, but remaining fairly close to Litivia's side. The only thought going through his head at this pointâ"was just how many more dispicable things do humans do to Pokémon? As such, the night of his mother's death continues to plague his thought. Would today end up a repeat of that night? Wouldâ"Destiny replace his mother in this event? Such a thing could not happen, nay, for the sake of his sanity, he would not let it happen...
