I assumed the reason there hasn't been much activity on the forum lately was because there is a small number of active users in general across at least the forums and gallery. Not zero, but not very many either compared to the size of the gallery. My expectations for gallery tagging contributions could be skewed, but I would expect almost anyone to tag at least some things, particularly with the gallery in its current condition.
If so, this would create a talking vicious cycle. People see that the forums are inactive and as a result don't post much. Of course, I could also easily be wrong about that.
A hagfish is a primitive fish-like animal that's shaped like an eel and has no spine or lower jaw. Its mouth opens sideways. It can produce a substance that turns water around it into slime, then tie itself in an overhand knot and push that up or down its body to escape from enemies and its own slime.

I honestly haven't done much tagging since I came here. I just never really had the incentive. I've been on deader forums before though. Maybe this can help break the cycle.

I heard you can make clothes out of hagfish slime
Yummy.
Not only tagging needs to be done in the gallery, pooling comics and such is also necessary.

Honestly I don't feel like to contribute to the gallery when I can't block the things which I don't like to see because those things are too detailed/complex tags which aren't allowed to add to posts at all.

If I recall correctly *booru-based boards can create links between tags, in particular they can have implications (if tag B is present, auto-add super-tag A), synonyms and so on that would make the work somewhat easier. I don't have much experience not having ever run this software as admin, so I wondered how/if these could be done by a standard user or if they required higher privileges. I don't exactly know how strong implications are, but if the system manages, some tags could be added as default child tags (e.g. "barbs" on "male"+"luxray"), yet giving the users the possibility to remove them if they don't fit the image.
BTW there's a reason to have whole empty pages when searching for "tagme"? (I looked the last 10-15 pages)

My current understanding is that it's either deleted posts, the gallery being not done reorganizing itself after some posts have had that tag removed from them, or some combination thereof.

Appears to be a bug in the ouroboros software itself, e621 has the same kind of problem with the last few pages of a query if there's too many.

I think it's in part due to a lack of topics and no-one wanting to make a new one.
So here just talk about whatever you feel like at the moment without needing to make a whole new thread for it.
I think this should be good in times of topic drought and hopefully create more activity.
