I tried writing on fur affinity, but the server there has crashed and no one has seriously commented on my stories. I'm hoping for some comments on this new story which I am releasing here first. Axe that, only here. Especially since I'm so close to getting on the top ten for most words(about 20000 more) and potentially most reads(more then 5000 now) I'll put the general disclaimer here. Chapter 10 The First Gym

Mech was sitting in the Pokémon center waiting room waiting for his pokémon to be healed. He had already sent some information on the Geodude and Charizard clans to Oak. He was getting bored and was almost asleep when he noticed someone walk it. He would have ignored it but they walked in wrapped in a black cloak with a large cavalier hat on. The person walked by too quickly but was defiantly human, not who he was looking for. He turned away trying to think of something to do.
"Excuse me, are my pokémon healed yet?" the stranger asked. There was something about that voice that made Mech jump.
"Surely not!" he thought.
"Yes, your Turtwig and Starly are all fixed up. Here you go!" said the Nurse who looked like the nurses in all the other towns. The similarity was disconcerting.
"Thank you. Are there any rooms available?" asked the stranger.
"Just one. Here's the key. I hope you have a pleasant stay!" chirped the Nurse. Mech was almost certain who the stranger was and walked up to him and spoke.
"Still bored are you?" he asked. The stranger wheeled around.
"Who said?" He started when he noticed Mech. "No." He said dumb struck.
"Yes. Say are my pokémon healed up yet?" Mech asked the Nurse.
"Let me check." She said walking off. The stranger stared at Mech.
"What are you doing here?" asked the stranger removing his hat "You've been missing for weeks! Is this where you've got to then?"
"Hey Bob." Mech said greeting his old friend Bob Shmit "Yeah, it's a long story, but I had help getting here, how did you get here?"
"Excuse me sir, your pokémon area all healed up, here you go!" the Nurse interrupted handing the three pokéballs over.
"How did I? How did you?" Bob countered.
"Long story. Lets not talk about it here." Mech said. The two walked out the door talking. "Well it's a long story. I really don't understand it, and I don't want to talk about everything, but basically this thing tricked me here. What's your story?"
"Well you disappeared. Your mom was crazy. After a while these rifts started appearing and these creatures started coming out. The military is in an uproar. That was when I meet Naetoru. I followed him through one of the rifts and ended up here. After hiding out and watching how things worked, I found a pokéball, caught Naetoru and decided to travel around to see what there was, and if there was a rift back home. It's been about a month here. I just caught Mukkuru and brought him here to get healed. I won enough money off battles to get these duds."
"Nice look. You said I've been gone for weeks? But only a week has passed here."
"Maybe it's because we got here different ways. I don't know.
"And you said pokémon were getting out into our world, why can't you take the rift you used to get here back?"
"It closed after I went through. As far as I can tell, we're stuck her unless we stumble on one. Judging by your look, you haven't made as much as I have. I have about 5k left in my wallet!"
"You beat me, I only have 3k with me. Though in my bank account I set up so if I lose it's not such a financial loss, has about 34k in it."
"How did you get so much? I've been here a lot longer then you!" Bob said surprised.
"I got a job researching pokémon for this guy. It pays well, and the battle wins aren't bad either. Do you only have those two?" Mech asked.
"Yeah, Naetoru and Mukkuru. They're great guys. Well I haven't gotten to know Mukkuru but Naetoru is great. He helped me adapt to here when I had just arrived. Speaking of which, come on out Naetoru!" he called releasing his Turtwig, a turtle with a leaf on its head. Bob picked it up before placing him on his pack.
"Hello!" said Naetoru
"Odd duck this guy, while most pokémon only say their name, he says Naetoru. That's why I call him that. Mukkuru just came to me.
"Yeah, it's all I can say. Though only humans like you notice." Said the small turtle.
"Hmm... Funny, I didn't notice at all. Well this deepens the mystery, don't you agree San?" Mech asked releasing his Pupitar.
"Yeah, we did think it was where you were from that you could understand us, but this proves that wrong. This is strange." She said thinking.
"I know. Oh, better let Subomi and Hitokage out too." He said. Subomi popped out while Hitokage just crossed his arms and glared. "Hitokage, your stuck with me whether you like it or not. Think about it like this: the sooner you get over this attitude of yours, the sooner you go home" Mech said scolding the young lizard.
"Only my dad can tell me what to do!" Hitokage shouted turning away "Leave me alone."
"Speaking as the former Alpha of the Charizard clan, my authority far exceeds yours, and even your fathers. If you are going to keep this up, I'll leave you in your ball between battles. It makes no difference to me, but wouldn't you rather be out here with Subomi and San?" he questioned.
"With this coward and this wimp? No thank you."
"Hey! I'm not a coward at all, I'd just rather not be surrounded by flames when I am very flammable!" Subomi protested. San just gave him the death stare. Hitokage started looking nervously around.
"Also by far you're the weakest member on the team. Well back in you go. We'll see if you're more personable later." Mech said returning the rebellious lizard. "Sorry Bob, he's new to the team and not very happy about it."
"Did you just have an argument with a pokémon?" Bob asked stunned.
"Yeah, what of it?"
"What of it? You can't understand a word they say!" Bob said
"I can. That's why I thought it was strange you couldn't. I thought it was because we're not from here, but I guess it's just me." Mech said sadly.
"You do understand them? Weird. So what are you planning to do?"
"Find the guy who sent me here and force him to send me home. All I know is he was wearing a cloak like yours, with the hood up and he was like some kind of mutant cat."
"Mutant cat." He said slowly thinking "Never seen the cat, no pun intended." Bob answered. San waddled over.
"How bout you Naetoru? You seen him?" she asked.
"Let's see, cat pokémon I know that are human shaped, I get..." Naetoru thought "I'm drawing a blank. Sorry."
"Oh well." Mech said "I've checked the pokédex, but I haven't seen anything in there yet."
"Oh a pokédex, like this?" Bob asked holding up a very old red device. "I found this early on. It's pretty old but it works. It still gets updated even though it's so old." He explained as the thing against all logic started beeping. "Oh, it just got updated. Hmm, it updated the Charizard and Golem entries." He said scrolling down. "Anyway you here to challenge Roark?" Bob asked.
"The gym leader? I might as well. Oak doesn't have anything for me to do so I have time. What about you?"
"Just beat him. He's a push over. All he has is three rock types. Naetoru took him out without breaking a sweat. Your Budew should be able to handle him. You should get there now before the gym closes for the day."
"Alright, where is the gym?"
"Follow me, I'll show you. I want to see how good you are."

"I see you have come to challenge me as all trainers do." Stated Roark, a man wearing a distinct red hard hat.
"Yeah. I'm confident I can beat you."
"Lets just hurry the battle, the gym is about to close" reminded Roark. "I'll go first, go Geodude!" He called sending out the odd rock type.
"Go Subomi!" Mech called, Subomi jumping off his pack. "Subomi use mega drain!" Subomi glowed as he zapped Geodude's health. Being absurdly over powered, the attack beat it easily.
"Well its Onix's turn!" he said sending out the rock snake "Onix use rock tomb!"
"Subomi, you know the drill!" Mech countered. The rocks flew at Subomi who despite his short legs, jumped out of the way and hit Onix with a mega drain. The attack took out the rock snake out instantly.
"You're Budew is very strong. Fine, Cranidos its up to you!" he said summoning the dinosaur "use head butt!" he shouted.
"I think you can handle this." Mech said. Cranidos charged at Subomi who drained his health. It wasn't enough and Cranidos collided with him plowing him into the nearby wall. "Subomi! You okay?" Mech cried as Cranidos wobbled off and Subomi peeled himself off the dented wall.
"Been better." He answered slowly picking himself up as Cranidos readied a second charge. "I hope you have an idea!" He shouted nervously trying to stop himself from shaking.
"Not really" Mech shouted back looking around for anything that might give them an advantage. His eyes skimmed the dented wall before inspiration hit. "I got one! Do you trust me?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"Then don't move until I say!"
"Cranidos, finish it with another head butt!" shouted Roark.
"Wait for it!" shouted Mech as Subomi readied to dodge. Cranidos charged as fast as it could towards its small opponent. Just as collision seemed inevitable Mech shouted "Jump!" Subomi jumped just in time to clear the charging dinosaur. Cranidos was unable to stop in time and crashed head first through the wall right where the dent had been. It furiously tried to back itself out but found it couldn't. "Now Subomi take it out with mega drain!" Mech called. The small grass type glowed as he healed himself with his suck opponent's energy. The dinosaur slumped down, its head still stuck.
The announcer declared it unable to battle. Subomi, Mech and San who had just left her ball began cheering. Bob had left unnoticed during the battle. Suddenly Subomi started glowing. Mech knew what was going on but watched intently. He grew a bit, arms ending in pink and blue hands. The light faded revealing he had become almost humanoid with a pair of giant leaves covering his front and back. He wavered a bit, a little unsteady; not use to having arms and just stubby legs.
"Well this is odd." He commented.
"What?" San asked having left her ball to watch the match.
"I have hands!"
"So?"
"My mom just had flowers! This is too weird." Subomi said shaking his head. "Well my dad was a Pikachu. And he did mention that his dad was a Monferno. Maybe that's where I got it. I guess we'll never know." He said as he returned to the jubilation as Roark returned his defeated mon.

"Well done Mech, not many trainers beat me without losing a pokémon. Is this your first gym battle?" Roark asked later.
"Actually yes. And it's Subomi that deserves the credit; he did the work."
"Incredible none the less. I can see you hold great promise as a trainer. Here is the Coal Badge as proof of your victory. Oh and you might find this TM handy, TM76 stealth rock." He said handing over the small metallic badge and what looked like a CD.
"A TM?" Mech said confused, putting the disk away in the CD case he had forgotten to take out of his pack before he left.
"A technical machine. It can be used to teach moves to pokémon but can only be used once, unlike HM's which are more important and require a badge to use like mine which lets you use rock smash. Don't ask why you can't use it before then just except that you can't. The HM's are hidden hence the name and you have to find them to traverse certain places." Roark Explained. "The next gym you should battle is in Eterna city."
"Eterna City?!?" Mech whined "We just came from there." He stated.
"That's got to be a pain coming all this way only to go back but it happens. You have to train until you can match the leaders power and I'm usually the first fought because of this. You'd better hurry along, I need to get a contractor to fix this wall."
Mech chuckled at this but when faced with blank stares from everyone he muttered "Inside joke" and left heading back to the center Subomi trotting behind.
