Oh and thank you for 10000 views. Wish I could do something special...Oh wait, I did. New goal: 20000(on top 10s!)(Man the competition is fierce.)I'm a writer. I tried writing on fur affinity, but the server there has crashed and no one has seriously commented on my stories. I'm hoping for some comments on this new story which I am releasing here first. Axe that, only here. Especially since I'm so close to getting on the top ten for most words(about 20000 more) and potentially most reads(more then 5000 now) I'll put the general disclaimer here. The original characters and plot are the property of me. I am in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of Pokemon. No copyright infringement is intended. If you are offended by anything in this story, then you have a serious problem being offended by something no one force you to read but I don't care enough so don't complain to me if you end up offended.

Chapter 35 The Capital

"Okay, that looks really weird." Bob said. Commenting on how Mech was floating along effortlessly.
"I wouldn't know, I'm trying not to think about it." Mech said. "So are we close?"
"We should be able to see the place by sunrise." Farore said from Darunia's back. They had flown all day and most of the night as well. "Are you sure you can make it?"
"Please. My mew half is making this a piece of cake."
"I don't think you should be using that power so freely." Gardie advised.
"Why not? Now that you mention it San said that too but Myuu didn't mention anything."
"Well remember how when you transformed into a Mew in that village back there? You're ears didn't go all the way back." Gardie said. "And I'd swear their getting pointier."
"Myuu did say her presence in my mind may have affected my form a bit. Whatever is going to happen will happen. No sense in trying to delay it. Though you may have a point in that using my powers speed it up. I wasn't able to do this yesterday. And I'm a shape shifter too so any big changes I can fix."
"Would that explain why you have those marks on your eyes?" Ven asked.
"I knew I couldn't avoid it forever." Mech sighed. "Yes these marks are permanent and no amount of transforming will ever change that. This is just a little carry over from my relationship with San."
"And the reason you both have it?"
"It's a genetic disease only with her family. It only passes to kids and lovers. Call it a mostly harmless STD if you will." Mech explained.
"I'm going to leave that alone now." Bob decided.
"I'm just lucky Saria isn't the same way." Gardie commented.
"Yeah, I am so done with this." Bob groaned.
"Shh! We're almost there!" Farore hushed pointing at a run down fort. The building was obviously of human design but the pokémon had modified it for their own use.
"A bit run down." Mech noticed. "I hope they don't mind four humans landing there." A bolt of electricity answered his question. A Fearow flew up to meet them.
"What are you humans doing here?" The Fearow demanded. "Why am I talking to you? I should be asking why you four are carrying humans into our territory."
"You could ask why I'm floating here." Mech threw back. "And if it helps, only two of us are human."
"Hi." Bob waved.
"What are you doing here?" The Fearow questioned.
"We're here to talk to who's ever in charge." Mech said shortly.
"On whose authority?"
"The authority of a Mew!" Mech shouted switching to Mew form and back again.
"Yes sir." Fearow bowed. "I shall inform the others."
"Good." Mech glared. The Fearow flew back and they landed in the courtyard in the center of the fort. A Metagross stomped out.
"I am sorry for the attack sir but in these times one cannot be too careful and when we saw the humans you were with well..." It trailed off. Mech raised a hand.
"I understand."
"May I ask why you are in that form?"
"Well I may have misled you there." Mech admitted. "You see I'm not a Mew, I just have the powers of one."
"Care to explain?" Metagross asked suspicious.
"She tried to save the world but couldn't so she passed her powers to me so I could."
"So whose side are you on?"
"I'm on neither side. I only want to end the war with the best ending for both."
"A wise option." Metagross agreed. "But what are you doing here?"
"I heard you seem to be having trouble lately." Mech replied.
"We have. With our power we should have no trouble fighting off the humans but with their guns well, all but the rock types are just slaughtered any time we go into battle. We're strong but we're still mortal and every time they just get better and better armor so we can't defeat them."
"Well I guess it's time to even the odds. I know a bit about metallurgy. I can help you make armor. I'm not one for weapons apart from melee stuff, but I do know how to make some of the best metal ever made. If you'll give us the chance we can help you turn the tide in the war."
"We would be grateful for the assistance." Metagross said. "And the other three humans?"
"Actually I'm half human." Gardie pointed out.
"Ven here has offered to become a spy and is in a position to do so. And Bob is a good fighter if not much else but his inability to understand you may hinder him."
"I'm sure we can find room for you all. What about the others?"
"Right. Our pokémon." Mech said releasing everyone. The others did so too.
"What are those?" Metagross asked.
"A way to carry pokémon around. Though there isn't much of a use for them now. I guess we'll need a few extra rooms.
"Actually most of this place is too run down to live in."
"Then our first project should be to fix this place up. We'll start tomorrow." Mech said. "But for tonight is there anywhere we can stay?"
"We do have some room in the refugee room. It's one of the rooms we've bothered to maintain." Metagross said, walking off into the building. He led them into the saddest looking room they had ever seen. Groups of pokémon huddled in the corners, shivering under rags for warmth. "The war has been very hard." Metagross said sadly. A few looked up halfheartedly.
"This is going to end." Mech shouted determinedly. "You have all these pokémon and yet you can't find the man power? Everyone, right now you live in squalor but if you are willing to help me we can make this a better place. All we need is a little cooperation! Who's up to fixing this place up and making it habitable?" He questioned. No one stirred. "This is going to be harder then I thought."

"Good morning San!" Mech yawned.
"If you say so." She replied.
"I'd say so. I mean we're not totally lost anymore, and no one has a blade at our necks! I'd say this is good by our standards recently."
"I still don't feel good." San grumbled.
"Maybe you should see a doctor." Mech suggested. "They have to have someone here."
"Let's see."

They walked out of the depressing room and found Metagross already up.
"Ah good morning Sir Mew." It greeted.
"Call me Mech."
"Very well. I trust you are well?"
"Actually San here has been sick the past few days, are there any doctors around?"
"Yes, down that hall and through the double doors." Metagross pointed awkwardly. San walked off slowly. "What's wrong with her?"
"I'm not sure; she's just been feeling bad these last few mornings. So how would I go about fixing up this place?"
"That's your job to figure out." Metagross said. If he had a visible mouth he would have smiled. "I'm putting you in charge of restoring this place. I can't let you take our defenders to do it but anyone else you can if they'll help."
"I'll try."

"Hello there!" Greeted the round pink Blissy nurse to San as she entered. If anything this was a step up from the rest of the place, very few of the beds were taken but there were only a couple of nurses and they had their hands full.
"Hi. I've come because I've been feeling sick these past few days." San said.
"Well let's get you in and see what's wrong." Blissy said happily carting San over to a chair. San sat down delicately. "Now I'm not sure what could be the problem. Could be a simple cold. Here keep this in your mouth for a minute." Blissy ordered putting an old thermometer in San's mouth. She waited a bit and pulled it out. "Seems normal. Any other symptoms?"
"I've been tired too but who doesn't when their sick? And I've been traveling a lot recently."
"Hmm..." Blissy thought. "Jynx could you come here for a moment?"
"Yes?" asked the Jynx when she had walked over. Blissy whispered in her ear and Jynx nodded, closed her eyes and fell silent. After a minute she opened her eyes again. "Yup."
"Oh this is great news. Go alert Camerupt would you?" Blissy asked. Jynx nodded and left quickly.
"What?" San asked confused.
"It seems Ms Tyranitar that-" (Narrators note: I love my life right now, at this exact moment.)

"Alright then. I've been put in charge of fixing this place up and I'm drafting all of you to help!" Mech called as he entered the refugee room.
"Buzz off human." A Magmar said without looking.
"Yeah, this place is fine." Added a Hypno.
"Oh. I wasn't aware having a thirty foot wide hole in the roof classified as 'fine'" Mech replied sarcastically. "If we all work together we can fix this place up. The ground here seems fertile enough to grow crops so we won't be hungry and from what I've heard there's some ore rich mountains nearby we can use to make steel for the roof. Here's what we need to do. I need all the rock, ground, and steel types to start mining iron and coal. Lots of it, and drop it off outside. Anyone who can cut down trees we're going to need some wood to start the forge. Fire types will join me in starting the forge up. Hopefully they have molds for the beams that we can use. Everyone else start collecting seeds for a farm. Come on. You have nothing else to do so you might as well make this place habitable."
"Why should we listen to a human?" asked a Raichu that seemed to be missing most of its tail and an ear. "More to the point why are you here?"
"Because I'm not totally human and I'm here to turn the tide of the war."
"We just got here and I'm already sick of this place. You come here and expect sanctuary? How about making your own!" Gardie added, once more in his anthro form.
"I've been saying we need to improve things since day one." Replied a Sandshrew.
"I won't like it, but it beats sitting here feeling sorry for ourselves." Agreed a Glaceon. "What do you need us to do again?"

San ran faster then one would think possible through the corridors or the dilapidated fort. Skidding to a halt she found Metagross.
"Have you seen where Mech went?" She asked quickly.
"No but you might try the refugee room. He went there to recruit people to fix this place up." Metagross answered and before he was done San was already running off. She barreled through to find the room nearly empty. Bob was in there with a Venusaur. The Venusaur was lifting him up to the roof where he was doing something.
"Bob!" She shouted. Bob turned at the sound.
"Oh, hey San." He shouted back.
"Bob have you seen Mech?" San asked.
"San you know I can't understand you and Nabooru was the only translator I had." Bob replied. Frustrated San pointed to Mech's pack.
"Oh, you want to know where Mech is. He's in the forge I think." Bob said before returning to his work. San wasn't sure where to go exactly but searched through the halls opening all the doors. Being unable to read human made the task slow but finally she found some doors that were open. She looked in and saw a wide-open room with a high ceiling filled with fire pokémon and clay structures.
In one corner, sifting through piles of metal boxes was Mech. She ran over and he turned when he heard her coming.
"Hey San." He said. "This seems to be an I-beam mold. We can use this once we get the furnace going and some ore." He said to a Magmar who took the box he held out and carried it off.
"Mech I need to talk to you."
"Sure San. I'm all ears."
"Alone." San said eyeing everyone around them.
"Alright. We still have a while to wait before the furnace is ready. Bashamo, check to see if we have enough wood and coal yet, please. I'll be back shortly, I hope." Mech said to the crowd before following San out and through a maze of corridors to an empty room that seemed intact.
"This should be private enough." San decided.
"No one around." Mech confirmed with a quick mental scan. "So, what's up?"
"Well, I went to the nurses place and they found why I had been feeling sick."
"And?"
"Remember how we've been, you know..." San said in a funny tone.
"San could you cut the suspense and get on with it. I'm sure are readers are dieing to hear this."
"Huh?" San asked confused.
"Never mind. You were saying?"
"The nurse wasn't sure at first but had a Jynx come over and make sure. Mech, I'm pregnant."
Mech blinked and kind of stood there while his brain tried to process what he had just heard. "But, I know I have the powers of a pokémon but I didn't know this was possible. I mean sure Gardie's half and half but he has Team Rocket to blame, or thank. Mew powers or not I'm still human and we shouldn't be genetically compatible, unless..." Mech said confused. "Of course. Myuu's last words. 'Oh and your welcome' was what she said. Maybe this was what she meant."
"So what are we going to do?"
"I know what I'm doing. Something I planned to do after the League but well it kind of got pushed down the list of importance." Mech said. He bent down on one knee and pulled out a package he had been saving for a while now. "Sanagirasu, will you marry me?"
"What?" San said startled. "I...yes."

And thus ends this part in the tale. Many of you may ask, what did happen to them? Well let me but your mind at ease. Ven released his pokémon and, true to his word became a spy and managed to worm his way high up in the human command where he sent their secrets to the pokémon. Ganty stayed in the village with Kyukon and Nyctea became a courier for Ven. Gardie released his pokémon as well and he and Saria left the army to find a place to settle down, far from the war.
Bob never gave up in his search for his pokémon and became an assassin/scout, taking the riskiest jobs that no one else dared to do. Mech also released his pokémon. Subomi, was badly injured in a battle early on and limped from then on. For days he could be found crafting a staff for himself out of the root that Mech gave him in Veilstone, in the court yard with Plusun. Darunia raised Ruto while being a courier, but once she was old enough, she formed a group of water types to raid coastal cities and ships and Darunia joined her. Guma, finally at Buoysel's urging revealed the secret that Saria had discovered to much surprise. The pair stayed in the capital and soon Buoysel gave birth to triplets. Erureido and Farore became trainers, getting the pokémon ready for battle and they too settled down.
And the pair you are wondering about the most? Well San and Mech got married not long after and stayed in the building. With Mech's assistance the place became habitable and with the armor and tactics he knew, they turned the tide enough so no side had a clear advantage. He eventually became a leader in the pokémon army. With a little help from Guma, San began learning to speak English and eventually to read it too. A few months passed and Rouro, a male Larvitar was born.
As so the years passed. Many shall before we hear of our heroes again and what has become of them. Fear not, for excitement and mystery await them and the story is far from over but this is a good spot for a break.
Chapter End Notes:So it's over. For now. Tell me what you think so far. There is more in the future but what exactly...well you'll have to see
