Chapter 17
REBIRTH
LETS TRAIN MORE THAN ONE
Ch. 17
The next morning was met with the same sort of over-enthusiasm as yesterday's meeting down in the café. As I opened up the door to the trainers room that I was staying in to the world, I was at once met with trainers of all types who were begging me to answer their questions. The only problem was that I was hungry and needed to get down to the café to eat. In some ways it almost felt like I was a celebrity, because who knows how many people were following me.
It really started to get annoying when they even insisted that they watch me eat some food. 'Oh come on. Haven't you guys watched me enough. It's not like you have never seen a Pokemon eat before.' I thought as I popped another piece of Pokemon chow into my mouth. I'd chosen some sour type Pokemon chow to hopefully wake me up, plus it always left a pleasant tingling sensation on the tip of my tongue.
"Oh, come on. We all just want to hear you talk again." Said a man, who was standing in the back. "You must be the only Pokemon alive who can actually speak our language."
I looked over and could see several other people nod their heads to his statement. I finished chewing the last of my Pokemon chow and vowed not to have that stuff again, unless I could help it. 'What are you talking about. I'm a psychic type remember. Of course I can speak your language. All psychic types can.' I said mentally to them, which only seemed to make them even more angry.
"That's not it at all. We all heard you actually talk, not using telepathy, yesterday." A young boy complained as he too was looking forward to hearing the Pokemon actually speak his own tongue.
I simply just rubbed a spot between my eyes and shook my head. 'Now look. It may have seemed like that but I can assure you that I do not speak your language.' To emphasize this, I spoke to them in my natural Gallade speech. 'Now do you understand? I was only speaking through telepathy.'
A few people looked pretty disappointed, though others were finally beginning to show that they had made an error and moved off. As the ranks of people slowly dispersed from the rest of the group, I noticed that one person stayed. My eyes went wide as I recognized the person with the lowered head as Suzy. 'What the heck is she doing here?' I thought as I quickly leapt to my feet and stared at her. 'Now what is it Suzy. Come for a rematch?' I asked her as I extended my elbow blades and took on a fighters stance.
"There shall be no fighting inside the Pokemon center!" I heard somebody say sternly. Looking over my shoulder, I could see the Nurse Joy standing in the double doorway with her hands on her hips.
I took a long and slow breath then allowed my body to relax, which in turn allowed my blades to return to normal and shrink down to become regular elbows again. Giving her a quick nod I saw her relax as well, then turn and leave. 'Sharp as a tack, that Nurse Joy. She seems to know just when there is trouble and appear out of nowhere to stop to it before it actually starts.' Turning back to Suzy, I could see that she still had her head lowered and was looking down at the ground, as if she found the floor tiles interesting. 'Alright Suzy. It's obvious to me that you want something, and the answer is still no if your still going on about capturing me. So spit it out already!' I said mentally to her.
"Why did you strike me?" She asked in such a low voice it was barely above a whisper.
A scowl had slowly spread across my face as I couldn't really hear her, so turned my head and put a hand up to the side of my head to allow me to emphasize the fact that I hadn't heard her. 'Huh? Didn't quite catch that. What did you say?' I asked her as I used my psychic telepathy to speak with her.
Suzy clenched her fists and scrunched up her face as she raised her head and gave me a strained look. "I said, 'Why did you strike me'?" She said in a demanding tone and began to shake with her anger.
I'd never dealt with an angry girl before but heard somewhere that that kind of wrath was never something to take lightly. 'No wrath like that of a women scorned.' I think it went. I took a long sigh and slowly nodded to her, 'It would seem like we need to have a long talk. Why don't you sit down and we can talk while I eat.'
"Wait a minute. How can... Oh, right, telepathy." She said as she saw me raise an eyebrow then walked over to the table and sat down in the booth opposite where I'd been previously sitting. Once she was seated, she placed her hands on the table and interlaced her fingers. "Alright then. Explain. You are the same Ralts that I remember, right." She said in a factual tone.
I sat back down and popped another piece of the berry that I'd cut up for myself into my mouth. 'I fail to see a reason to lie to you...so... yes, I am the Ralts that you found so much enjoyment in trying to catch all those years ago.' I spat out a seed into another bowl that was next to the one with the berry pieces, like it was something distasteful. 'And the reason why I slapped you...well...I think your overall under-concern for your Absol was enough motivation for that.'
Suzy's eyes went wide with that and she reached down for her belt, only to freeze when she realized that there was only one ball there. "My Absol, Trent. Where is he?" She turned to look back at me and gave me a concerned look.
I reached down and pulled off a Heal ball and placed it upon the table. 'You mean this Absol?' I asked as I rolled the ball around a bit as I pushed it with a single finger, but snatched it up again as Suzy made a grab for it.
"Give him back. Trent belongs to me!" She demanded as she lay across the table like a child on the carpet about ready to throw a temper tantrum. She continued to reach but couldn't quite reach far enough to grab the ball as I would swing my body from left to right, avoiding her grabs, then held it above my head.
'Not a chance Suzy.' I said as I held one hand above my head which had the Heal ball and used my other hand to push her face back, which made her fall back into her seat. 'You abandoned your Absol yesterday, remember?' Her eyes went wide and she just sat their in shock.
"But I never..." She tried to speak as I placed the ball back down on the table.
'Oh yes you did. You ran off as your Absol lay hurt as well as left it's ball discarded there on the ground.' I placed both my hands on the table and stood up. 'In every sense of the word, that's abandonment. Furthermore, your Absol doesn't even want to be your Pokemon.'
This seemed to snap her out of her current state as she slammed both her palms down on the table and stood. "What in the world are you talking about!? Of course Trent..."
'That's it right there.' I said as I pointed to her, interrupting her ranting.
"What?"
'That name, Trent. That is the reason why your Absol doesn't want to be your Pokemon.'
Suzy head bounced back for a moment, as if she'd been struck with a mental blow. "Trent? What's wrong with that name. I think it's a great name for an Absol."
I slowly lowered my head, exhaled, shook my head, then looked back up at her. 'For a male Absol, maybe. But what about a female Absol?'
Suzy's eyes went wide then she smirked and laughed. "What are you talking about. Trent is a Male Absol...isn't he?" As she said the last few words she sounded very unsure about it, then looked over to me to see that my head was shaking.
'No. The Absol that you caught never was and has never been male. She's a girl and I'm shocked that you didn't even pick up on the fact.' I leaned back against my seat as I held out both arms like I was going to accept a long object. 'For crying out loud Suzy, you're a girl too. How would you feel if someone were to constantly think of you as being a guy?' Slowly Suzy sat back down in her seat and she took on this kind of a disgusted look that slowly spread across her face.
I wrinkled up my nose and pushed my bowl of cut up berries towards the middle of the table. 'I've lost my appetite.' I said as I stood back up and slowly got out of the booth.
"Wait a minute. Where are you going?" She asked as she held out a hand towards me, almost like she as wanted me to take it and help her out of her seat.
I slowly turned and looked at her over my shoulder. 'I'm going off to train and get to know Trisha a little bit.' I told her as I slowly turned my back to her and started walk away from her.
"Trisha? Who's Trisha?" She asked, but when she looked up I was to far away to properly respond to her. "Who's Trisha!?"
I was a few steps out of the center when a pair of hands grabbed my right arm. I stopped right there but didn't want to look back, as I was pretty sure who it was. 'What do you want, Suzy?' I said as I said the name with distaste.
She slowly let got of my arm and walked around me, so that the two of us were face to face. "It's considered rude to walk out on a lady when she's trying to talk to you, you know." She said as she placed her hands on her hips and looked up at me with a piercing gaze.
I raised up my hand and placed it over my eyes, as if I were tying to shield my eyes from a bright sun. 'A lady? I don't see a lady anywhere.' I said as I turned my head, left and right, then looked back down to her and lowered my arm. 'All I see, is a spoiled little brat, who doesn't even care about the Pokemon that she keeps.'
"WHAT! How dare you." She poked me in the middle of my chest. "I'll have you know..."
'Have you healed Rupert yet?'
Her head snapped back again. "What?"
'Have you taken your Poochyena, Rupert, to be healed by Nurse Joy yet. I bet he's still inside his ball, just as beat up as when we'd finished our battle yesterday.' I said as I placed my hands on my hips then waited. 'Well?'
Suzy pulled off his ball and held it out in front of her, and stared at the ball. "I..." I didn't even give her the chance to answer me as I grabbed the ball out of her hands, held the ball out with my right hand, and released the Pokemon within. After the white light finally solidified into Rupert, I slowly shook my head. Rupert lay with his belly on the ground a little ways away from us, his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth, and panting for breath.
'Just as I thought. Not only are you a spoiled little brat, you're a horrible Pokemon trainer as well.' I recalled Rupert back into his ball and pushed it into her chest. 'I don't know what more I can say.' I slowly lowered my head and shook it again, then quickly snapped my head back up again. 'Take Rupert back inside and give him to Nurse Joy to heal.' She didn't do anything, so I grabbed her by the shoulders, spun her around, then pushed her towards the doors. 'NOW!' I shouted as I tried to hold back the urge to kick her rear into gear instead of pushing her into the Pokemon center.
About, 10 or 20 minutes later, Suzy finally emerged from the Pokemon centers double doors to see me leaning against the building with my arms crossed and head lowered, with a wheat sticking out from the side of my mouth. I slowly opened my left eye and looked over to her standing there. I raised my head, took the wheat stalk out of my mouth, then flicked it off into some bushes somewhere.
I walked over to her and stood above her. 'All healed up.' I said in a more statement than a question. Suzy nodded and pulled off the ball and held it up to me. I accepted the ball from her, turned to my right, and released Rupert. He looked a lot better standing on his own four paws, and this time his tongue was out more in a silly, puppy way rather than an exhausted one. I recalled him to his ball then gave the ball back to Suzy, only to grab her by the shoulder and turned her around.
"Wait a minute. What are you doing?" She demanded as I pushed her in the middle of her back to get her to start walking.
'Training.' I said as I pushed her again in the middle of her back when she stopped to try and talk to me over her shoulder.
"Training? What are you talking about? I can train Rupert any time I want." I simply pushed her again. "Hey, now stop that."
'I never said that we were going to train Rupert, now did I?' Suzy stopped dead in her tracks as she turned to give me a horrified look, then proceeded to cover herself as if she were naked and embarrassed about someone seeing her as such.
"N...NO! Somebody..." I didn't give her the chance to yell out as I quickly reached forward and covered her mouth my hand.
'What the heck are you going on about, you sick little pervert? I'm not going to do anything to you.' I said as I gave her a confused/disgusted look then took away my hand as I could see she had a confused look on her face.
"Then what are you going to do to me?" She asked as she slowly lowered her arms and looked up at me.
I brought up my hand and placed it on the front of my face, as if I'd been hit with a water balloon there, and wiped it down, then shook my head. 'I'm going to help you train Rupert, and turn you into a 'proper' Pokemon trainer.' I slowly walked away and threw my arms up in the air. 'What in the world is wrong with this girl?' I asked myself as I just wanted to yell out my frustration, then walked back and pushed her again to get her moving. 'Now march!'
