What does everyone believe is the next step for AGN now that the site is all polished up yet again. Some believe that it will hopefully move back to its glory days of when it was the central hub for every person's pokemon fetish and I would love to see that happen yet again. The big hump in the road to making that happen is bringing back artist and writers who have left this glories place after its last "fixing" up. The old gallery section had a terrible search feature that did upset many people(myself included) and left to find better places which turned out to be three different sites FA, e621 and rule34. Now thanks to this recent update and with some major tagging work the gallery section is off to a great restart and should start bringing people back after some time and a bit of promotion for this site.
Now what I believe is the main key factor that will help push this site back to its glory days is the fic section because unlike any other site this one has a lemon section that is actually good. FA has a terrible writing section for people who are more into creating chapter based stories and series while the other main sites do not support writing what so ever which gives AGN a foot hold in this arms/porn war.
Time will tell just how much our glories site shall rebuild and grow. Bring back the artist, writers and with a bit of promoting and time hopefully this site shall not just be live and active again but shall once more be the king of pokemon porn.
Full-stop right there. FA is worthless for writers, only exception being niche fetish pieces done as gifts/commissions for people who are highly active on that site.
the other main sites do not support writing what so ever which gives AGN a foot hold in this arms/porn war.
SoFurry is a sleeper somewhat, but it's actually quite good for the Pokémon fic writer, insofar as being able to throw lemons in the air and have readers catch them, and not see them be spontaneously deleted as MA-content is at FFnet.
As it stands, however, the AGN.PH fics page is very deficient. Between only showing the latest bump on the front page, having more space dedicated to "featured" stories which are half-year stale contest entry links, and a random cycler all packed into one column; and having actual access to the fics being rather cumbersome with the Latest being seven days even when only one story has been touched in that period (and is front page linked), the actually useful updated-story list being under titles (which sounds more like a master index than a not-seven-day-limited recent updates list), and the main body of the page dominated by (again months-stale) "news" and a few generic content tag links that are shamed by even FA's browse filtering; the fics divison seems almost forboding. It's like an old mansion; you know there could be neat stuff in there, but you figure it's all going to smell musty, be covered with dust and cobwebs, and you might be attacked by a vampire for your trouble.
That was... Somewhat off topic... But the point I am going to make is unchanged by the previous users comments.
AGNPH can make it on its own. But what people fail to realize is that it has nothing to do with the features we have recently rid of (Chat Box, RolePlay section ect.) it's what we have NOW. if we got rid of the gallery and relied mostly on fics we could in theory become more fic centered as a whole and have a bigger focus on that leading to a better fic section and many more writers, same goes for if we were to lose the Fics section, the gallery would become more prominent (even though it is already our biggest source of traffic as shown by the fact that some posts to e621 are images from or about this site) and we'd get more artists and artists who have more skill.
The loss of the Chat Box is nothing to say "You will never get out of this hole you have dug," over, instead it is something where you say "okay" and move on, many, many, many sites have no direct communication on the front of their site and they are successful, so I see no reason for us not to be just because we lost ours (although the fact that it was a unique feature to us did help a little, until it became the center of our traffic making it more of a downside rather than an upside especially with the numerous accounts made just for the Chat Box).

Wait Xell where in there did I ever talk about that stupid chat box? I am happy that the chat box is gone since it had no purpose and caused more issues than anything else. I was just asking the community about how the site can continue to grow now that it actually has found a very great and stable lay out.
I believe he was simply making a point as to how the site can grow again now that we have both a proper gallery and a proper fics section, and the Chatbox was a good point but it was somewhat halting the growth of the site because some people joined for nothing but the chatbox and we need to put more focus on the fics and gallery sections. And I agree. A roleplaying part of the site was nice and all, but not when people joined for purely that and ignored the gallery and fics. I myself am guilty of it too ::) I tended to frequent the Chatbox and haven't properly written a new story or continued any others in.... months now. Wow. Now that I think about it, it has been a rather long time. I'm going to add more to my current story on my next day off ;D if anyone cares of course.
Removing the chatbox was the opposite of digging a hole. It was filling in a hole that had been dug. The same applies to removing the RP sections on the forums; they were never necessary for the few forum RPs AGNPH has had, and it seemed like adding them had a detrimental effect on the average quality of said RPs. Adding the Danbooru-type gallery was a very strong step forward, as well. Because AGNPH's real functionality now is comparable to, and surpasses, that of AGNPH at the time of the Coppermine gallery, and because the undermining features are gone, it has the potential now to surpass those glory days. Whether it will or not is still up in the air, of course, and probably dependent on things like whether we can attract artists.

If you want more recent activity, I could upload more of the missing archive fics.
(Please don't change software again, migration was a pain)

I have been frustrated with the people before and after saying the removal of the Chat Box will be our downfall.
Once more, I am sorry, I should have explained myself ^^;
