9_6 simply continues to struggle quietly, lacking a mouth to actually let out any sort of shriek at being jabbed right in the shriveled chest. Error and PH, however, are suddenly assaulted with violent shockwaves of disturbing imagery and sounds, the both of them blurring over as they continue to wail on each other. Wind and Radial continue to hold down the flailing 9_6 as they watch the cure visibly begin to course through the little spinda's body...

The swirling madness within your mind hits a breaking point as what's left of your body begins to burn with an agonizing heat. You already begin to feel yourself changing, muscle mass and bone painfully rebuilding itself within your limbs. You feel your mind being torn apart, the once infinite dimension of hysteria and torturous glee begins to collapse around you. Your home is dying!! All your wonderful luck will be gone forever!! You let out a piercing scream into the shattering void, cursing the loss of-

...Your mind slowly begins to clear... and you have one HELL of a headache! It feels like your head is literally shrinking around your brain! Not to mention the fact that your body feels like it was swelling like a balloon... Despite the intense pain, you feel like you have more control over yourself than you have in quite a while.

9_6 lets out a pained groan from a newly reformed mouth... Wind and Radial let out a sigh of relief, though are still having a bit of trouble watching the spinda's body squishing and crunching back into a more... normal shape. It takes a little bit of time, but soon 9_6 looks just like a regular round little spinda again.

The struggling pair across the room suddenly froze and remained rather still for a short while... Until Error finally sits back and rubs his head "Eugh... My head..."

"Your head?? My HELMET won't stop ringing!!" PH protests, trying to hold his helmet still after receiving so many hard hits from Error's heavy arm. He shoves Error back and pulls himself up from the floor. Error frowns, but doesn't seem to want to respond to PH at the moment... The two of them turn toward the others.

"Finally..." PH sighs as they join Wind and Radial around 9_6. Error kneels down and reaches for the spinda's hand, who simply blinks up at him.

"You alright?" Wind asks... those mutations were more extreme than he had seen before, and was wondering if there were any remaining side effects...

"I'm... not sure..." mumbles the spinda, slowly lifting a shaking hand to grasp Error's.

"You probably don't remember what's going on..." Radial adds, "That seems to be a side effect of these mutations... I barely remembered anything from when I was-"

"I remember..." 9_6 says bluntly. "...all of it... everything I did..." the spinda wobbles slightly after being lifted up, still a little disoriented. "My mutations were focused on mental expansion... I think that's why."

"I'm... sorry." 9_6 mumbles, possibly referring to everything that took place while being effected by that madness... the spinda's eyes meet Error's for only a split second before darting away again, remembering that last little episode... with the beach...

The group stands in silence for a moment, noticing a stillness to the room which had not been there before. After a few awkward seconds, PH speaks up again "Your actions were not entirely your own, 9_6... this demon's influence destroys any personal control over the ones it infects. All that's left is animal instinct." The group nods at this, though 9_6 remains looking at the floor.

Would now be a good time to cure Error? Or would his mutant form's strength be required for restraining Whiskers next?

9_6 takes the muffin, but even the delicious baked good doesn't help the spinda's mood very much... it was a pretty traumatizing experience.

His increasingly lopsided, mutated appearance only adds to the desperation they sense in his statement.

"Alright, we'll take care of Whiskers first since she's nearby anyway." PH begins to walk down the hall toward room 9-10.

Error suddenly blocks PH's way with his large arm. "I... want to do this myself." He isn't sure what's telling him to go in alone... maybe it's the fact that he's 'seen' PH kill Whiskers twice now...

"Hmm... You might be right on that." PH nods, causing the group, mostly Error, stare at him in surprise. "She has a closer connection to you than any of us. So you may have the best chance of bringing her back unharmed."

Error blinks at PH, trying to make sense of what he just said. After a moment he simply nods and holds out his hand, "Syringe 9... and 10 please."

"Sure." PH takes out the Centrifuge Tray, removing the two specified Cure Syringes, and hands them to Error. He stores them and once again nods grimly to the group before turning and heading down the hall by himself.

Error has indeed been changing, not to as much of an extreme as the others though for some reason... Still, his arm, eyes, teeth, and various other mutations have been worsening (in fact I've been trying to convey that his voice now has a very deep gravely kind of sound to it.)

Not that Wind or Radial would know it, but the mutations seem to have accelerated markedly since Error and Whiskers last met 9_6... the poor spinda lies upon the floor, looking rather grotesque now, with a shriveling body and swelling cranium, massive pulsing veins now residing where eyes should be. What little is left of a mouth is slowly melting shut as well... no telling how much longer 9_6 has before it's too late.

"Wind, cmon! Use the cure!" Radial advises, quickly scooting out of the way of a flailing rubbery spinda arm. Windslash gulps and nods, kneeling down over 9_6's form, who begins to squirm about weakly, emitting strained gurgles of protest.

"Guh... Hold... Hold still, damnit!" Wind repeatedly attempts to pin those snake-like appendages down to get to 9_6's chest, but they just keep wiggling back out. The shrew receives several surprisingly painful slaps to the face as 9_6 attempts to push him away. The dark red energy radiating out from the spinda's head lashes about the two of them, but always seems to stop about an inch from their heads... no doubt a side-effect to their cured bloodstreams.

"Little help??" Wind hisses to Radial.
Radial blinks in confusion for a moment before snapping to attention, "Oh! Oh ok, um..." He quickly waddles back up and grabs a hold of 9_6's arm, pulling it taught and gripping it hard enough to keep it away, though there is still quite a bit of resistance from the shriveled spinda.

Windslash fumbles over 9_6's overexposed ribcage, positioning the needle at what he believes is the correct location for the heart... which actually seems to be outlined by these spiral cut designs, almost as if they were carved in to indirectly guide him to that spot...

Wind frowns down to the mutated spinda, "...Sorry..." he mumbles before plunging the needle in.

it's most likely that the syringe that PH (being mindfucked into thinking it was a knife) was about to attack Error with WAS the one meant for 9_6. In all the confusion and mindfuckery, only the one syringe has been removed from the tray and knocked around the room.

He can hardly bare the insanity racing through his mind, the swirling darkness ripping around his body. However, his distant cries are suddenly drowned out by a burst of static. The static dissipates just as fast as as it appeared, leaving him standing firmly on the ground... somewhere.

His shouting echoes now in a much more claustrophobic sense. He was in a room again, a concrete room... And his body feels oddly distorted... like it did before.

He barely has time to adjust to his return when he comes upon a startling sight before him!

SUSPENSE!

As if given permission by unseen forces, PH turns back toward the dangling Whiskers and lets the cluster of heads tumble to the sand. Error stares in shock and disgust as PH pulls Whiskers closer, letting a mass of dark slimy tongues emerge from beneath his blackened helmet. They snake their way over Whiskers' face, who continues to cough and sputter until they forcefully jam themselves into her mouth, silencing her save for muffled choking gurgles.

As if the sight weren't disturbing enough, Error catches sight of PH's hand moving up to grope at Whiskers' chest. Her eyes begin to roll upwards, her panicked gurgling turning into one long choking scream as PH's hand violently closes around one of her breasts and begins to pull.

Error let out a piercing scream of horror as he witnesses Whiskers' skin peeling from her bloody frame. Pyramid Head's tongues also begin to retract, slowly pulling her jaw with them. Her body shudders and convulses in the air as she is forcefully torn apart, all the while letting out a loud jagged shriek.

Error can feel himself on the edge of vomiting right there. He wasn't given the chance however, as PH quickly whips Whiskers' bloody hide right at him with a sickening SWAP!!

He claws at his face in terror as nausea begins to overtake him... his head is spinning out of control more and more... He feels like he's going mad!! The unbearable piercing static in his mind soon drowns everything else out as he finds himself tumbling through the dark once again.

Oh gawds D:

The last two panels remind me of Giygas for some reason.

Tanner receives a jolt from the pachirisu's device and begins to carry out his orders. The buizel fights the collar's control as hard as he can, but his efforts are useless. He doesn't even manage to make a single muscle twitch voluntarily. Slowly and purposefully he pads toward his sister, unable to stop what is about to happen.

The scientist's words had come as a bit of a surprise to Tanner. This was not to be a quick demonstration. The little pervert intended to enjoy himself while proving the reliability of his device. Tanner was to make it interesting for him, first a little foreplay, then a few positions that the pachirisu had described. Once Tanner finished, the pachirisu would take his turn before forcing Bork to have a go at the poor little water pokemon.

Tanner seethes inwardly over his inability to prevent this, and is consumed by hatred for the little blue squirrel pokemon. He swears to himself that somehow he will kill the little bastard. On the outside, Tanner is still clearly the pachirisu's puppet. He stares into his sister's fearful eyes, pushing her up against the tree she's chained to with a paw firmly on her shoulder. For a moment they just stare at one another, leaving Lexi to wonder what comes next.

Lexi is about to try pleading with her brother again when she feels his paw sliding down her belly toward her nether regions. Whiskers: The spelling "Redd" might be a reference to [url:http://www.ugo.com/games/animal-crossing-characters/images/redd.jpg]Crazy Redd[/url] from the Animal Crossing series. He's a shady fox with slit-eyes who runs the black market. ;)

IIRC all the characters from RubyQuest are based on Animal Crossing characters. I wouldn't put it past for RQ's Red to be inspired by Crazy Redd.
